Poor Haru hasn’t had the best luck. 💔

She was found wandering alone near a pub, and now she’s been waiting a staggering 181 days for a home. We can’t understand why! She’s such a gentle, sweet, and friendly girl.

Haru’s dream is a calm, quiet home where she can finally relax and feel safe after everything she’s been through.

Can you offer this lovely girl a home this ? 👉 https://bit.ly/3KKkqgs

Lilly arrived at one of our rehoming centres after her breeder realised she was blind. 💔

They entrusted us with the task of finding her a specialised home and the care she would always need.

We were determined to give Lilly the best chance at a happy life, and Leanne quickly stepped in to foster her, providing the expert support she required.

Thanks to Leanne’s nurturing, Lilly soon transformed from a shy, scared puppy into a lively dog full of enthusiasm for life, despite her disability. She even learned verbal cues that helped her understand the world around her!

After 34 days in our care, the perfect family adopted her, and Lilly now has a best friend named Barry. 💙

"Please comfort them while I can’t. I can’t afford to feed them, and it breaks my heart," were the heartbreaking words of Layla and Trixie’s owner. 💔

Unfortunately, stories like this are all too common. As living costs rise, many are having to choose between feeding themselves and caring for their beloved animals.

That’s why we launched pet food banks across the UK, designed to support pet owners during these challenging times.

Layla and Trixie were clearly loved and in good health, so we found them a new loving home.

More than 112 days, that's how long Miso has been waiting for someone to finally choose him. 💔

Miso is a little dog with a big personality! Full of character, sociable, and happiest when spending time with people. Miso dreams of an adult-only home where his humans are around to keep him company and help him feel more confident when left alone.

Miso isn’t asking for much, just someone who understands him. With patience, respect, and love, he’ll give back a lifetime of loyalty and laughter.

Miso does enjoy meeting other dogs (though he can be a bit chatty about it!) and could happily enjoy his home with another friendly dog.

Could you be the one to finally give Miso the home he’s been waiting so long for?

Howard Moon has been in our care for more than 125 days, still dreaming of the loving forever home he longs for. 💔

Howard came to us as a stray, anxious, unwell and covered in fleas. After a thorough health check along with vaccinations, worming and neutering, Howard made his way to a peaceful foster home where he could start his journey of discovering life as a beloved pet.

In this home environment, Howard's calm and gentle personality began to blossom as he relaxed and became more trusting.

Although diagnosed with stage-one kidney disease, Howard doesn't require any medication for this, nor does it impact his current quality of life. His only wish is for a family who will cherish him exactly as he is.

Howard is searching for a pet-free home where he can build slow and meaningful relationships with his people. He'd thrive in a peaceful environment that allows him to settle in at his own pace, grow in confidence, and learn the warmth of unconditional love.

Could you be the one to love Howard to the moon and back?

Bonded rabbits Kirstie and Phil were abandoned in a layby. 💔

These one-year-old rabbits, likely siblings, were fortunately spotted and taken to a private vet before arriving in our care.

For Kirstie and Phil, it was truly a case of location, location, location — being found when they did meant we could provide the right care.

Unfortunately, the number of rabbits being abandoned across the country is increasing. Many people underestimate the costs and complexities involved in caring for these pets.

Despite everything they have been through, Kirstie and Phil were adopted together after just 36 days in our care. 💙

Behind every wagging tail is a volunteer who makes all the difference 🐾

Blue Cross UK rely on their amazing volunteers to give pets a safe place to stay and the care they need whilst they wait for a new home.

That’s why we’re so pleased that Blue Cross UK are one of the charities who have signed up to GoVo, the digital volunteering platform! It will help connect them with even more volunteers and showcase the wide range of roles they have to offer.

Another fantastic charity uploading opportunities ready for when the platform launches this autumn!

Teasel is a gentle soul looking for a calm and loving home where she can feel safe and settled. 💙

Her ideal home would offer plenty of outdoor space to wander, though she’s equally fond of relaxing in the sunshine or napping on a comfy bed.

Though a little shy at first, with patience (and a few tasty treats!) she soon comes out of her shell and shows her affectionate side. In the evenings, she loves nothing more than a cosy head rub and will happily chat away to her humans throughout the day.

Teasel would prefer to be the only pet in her new home, as she finds other animals overwhelming. She would truly thrive as the centre of someone’s world.

Could Teasel be the best friend you've been looking for?

Trigger warning: abuse.

Blanche was bundled up in bubble wrap and left in a bin, with string tied around her mouth to muffle her cries. 💔

Thankfully, someone heard her in distress and brought her to the safety of our Victoria animal hospital. Without them, it’s unlikely that Blanche would have survived.

Our vets found her to have early-stage gum disease, but luckily, she was otherwise healthy.

After some initial stress, Blanche showed her friendly side and went into foster care with volunteer Wendy, where she recovered in a cosy cat chalet.

After 49 days in Blue Cross care, Blanche found the loving home she deserved and is now known as Tooly.

After all the sadness, pain and suffering she endured, we’re thrilled to see Tooly so happy and loved in her new home. 😊

Little Firefly was around 10 days old when he came into Blue Cross care with his mum, Ladybug, and three siblings.

We're pleased to say that Firefly has found a loving home, and his new family were keen to say a big thank you to Ladybug too, with a handwritten note and crochet toy.

The note reads: "Dear Ladybug. I promise to look after and love Firefly just like you did. Thank you for letting us have him!"
