Bella my beautiful greyhound cross whippet, was found as a stray and covered in kennel sores when I adopted her. Unfortunately, her bald, raw tail needed to be partially amputated within days of taking her home. Whilst Bella was at the vets, the search for sighthound specific products and products to help improve her condition and support her health began; a wide collar, a slim fit coat, memory be

dding, gentle grooming products, supplements, the list went on. With some quality ingredients and a little TLC Bella’s sores healed in no time. By the following summer, her new sleek, soft coat had improved so much she snapped up 1st place in the 'best condition' class at our local fun dog show. With my faithful friend by my side, the idea of Pointy Faces was born; a shop where essential sighthound specific products could be purchased in one place. Together, Bella and I tried and tested hundreds of products to carefully curate Pointy Faces range. This means our customers can purchase with the reassurance that they've been sourced, tried and tested with quality and practicality in mind. Pointy Faces aim is simple, to bring together a range of practical products for hounds that love their comfort. With space on the sofa and love to give, Olive was in need of a forever home. Olive had never lived in a house before and was a rather nervous little lurcher. With some time and reassurance, she quickly became the most affectionate and playful pup. She’s taken to the role of chief treat taster and office dog with heart-warming enthusiasm and flair. Olive and I continue to source and bring our customers products that we enjoy, not only from a place of personal experience but also of love for hounds. Thank you for visiting our page.

Have you considered fostering a sighthound?

We are delighted to be joined by Tina from The Canine Lifeline - UK who explains the need for foster homes, how it works and what prospective foster families can expect from the experience in this month's guest blog.

The Canine Lifeline (UK) is a small, independent Rescue based in Pembrokeshire, Wales, specialising in helping sighthounds whose specific breed / breed type traits suggest particular kinds of adopters and thus particular kinds of fosterers. It’s that time of year when us dog owners are destined to be covered in dog hair! 😅

We have trialled a LOT of brushes, combs and mitts over the years and our Grooming Mitt is still our all time favourite. These rubber nodule mitts are gentle on bonier breeds yet highly effective. They are great for removing loose hair and dandruff, grooming moulting coats or for giving a nice massage. 🐾🐾

We hope you’re managing to stay cool hounds and humans!

We’ve actually enjoyed the peace and quiet of walking much later in the evenings in the shaded woodland. Luckily Olive is happy to be entertained with some gentle activities whilst she patiently waits for her walk. Here are some of the activities Olive enjoys to keep stimulated and cool during the day.

🌞 Chews - Olive’s favourite long lasting chew is an Ostrich bone which are now back in stock! A carrot which has been cooled in the fridge or freezer always goes down well too. 🥕🥕🥕

🌞 Toys - Using cooling toys for playtime in the garden such as the Watermelon Bio Safe toy, check out our summer sale to receive 40% off! The cavity of the watermelon can be filled with water and placed in the freezer for added play value making it the perfect refreshing toy for the summer months. 🍉🍉🍉

🌞 Treats - Treat toys such as Gnawt-A-Cone for chunky treats or smeared with a soft treat and frozen or a Lickimat smeared with soft/wet treats and frozen. Both are available on the “Toys” page on the website. 😋😋😋

🌞 Supper Time - Scatter feeding an evening meal in a shaded spot in the garden. 🍽️🍽️🍽️

Our Story

Bella my beautiful greyhound cross whippet, was found as a stray and covered in kennel sores when I first adopted her. Unfortunately, her bald, raw tail needed to be partially amputated within the first week of taking her home. Whilst Bella was at the vets the search for sighthound specific products began; soft, thermal bedding, a wide collar, a slim fit coat, natural and nutritious treats. The list went on.

I found it particularly difficult to find products for her sore skin and was worried about washing her with conventional dog shampoo. Having worked at an organic skin care company, I decided to set about making my own. With some quality ingredients, memory bedding and a little TLC her sores healed in no time.

Friends and family soon started to comment on Bella’s new sleek, soft fur and to my delight began using my handmade products on their own dogs. By the following summer Bella had improved so much that she snapped up 1st place in the 'best condition' class at our local fun dog show.

Starting with a range of organic dog grooming products, I soon decided it would be great to be able to purchase all the essentials in one place with the reassurance that they've been sourced, made, tried and tested with quality and practicality in mind. I am also delighted that a large amount of my products are handmade in the UK, organic, natural and eco-friendly. All of which have been specially selected to help keep your pointy faced friend happy and healthy.
