CW specialises in 90 minute canihikes, with a maximum of 4 dogs per handler, so you can guarantee that each of your dogs will get plenty of interaction and our full attention. we're level 3 Canie emergency first aid trained, insured for dog walking+pet sitting and DBs checked. If you follow our social media you can probably tell we're a bit different.. we use canicross equipment to walk, run and '

barkcore' the local trails! Myself and Lou have owned sighthounds together for the past 8+ years, but I have experience with smaller and larger dog breeds in the past too (to name but a few of the family menagerie ..Giant Schnauzers, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Greyhounds, Bedlington and Scottish terriers), I've also kept small exotics🕷️, ducks, chickens, turkeys and looked after the familys horse's in the past (an Arden, thoroughbred and cheeky pony). Louise is a ⭐Qualified⭐ Canicross coach and has been enjoying the sport for the past 6 years! but quite frankly prefers being more active with her dogs as it builds a strong bond, the dogs are in fantastic health and she gets to spam social media. We transport clients dogs using a large professional dog transportation vehicle. Our van is well maintained and has been fully lined, it also has a extraction+insertion fan and is professional crated (the vans insulation reflects the heat during the warmer months but also retains heat during the colder months). In compliance with the British weather we wash all the dogs off and towel dry them before dropping them home! As we understand the risk of disease and the condition of your sofa..

🏆4.55 MILE 🏆Garmin average conditions: 16°c 12mph🌬️
Our WBGT location reading max:16.6°c🌤humidity 45.2%, 20.9°c feels like🌡

Today's excursion was a little blustery to start, with a cool 12mph wind it meant the temperature remained lower even out in the peak sunshine. So perfect dog walking temperatures for all.

The boys all enjoyed their 90 minutes excursion, with plenty of sniffs and smells along the way, they passed distractions well, especially the tractor in the fields and a lovely lady with a retriever who we've seen on several occasions, always calling her dog in close and waiting in a lovely sit until we passed.

Near the start of the walk we did see what looked like some sort of surveyor, with a map of the first field and boundaries, taking lots of photos. It's sad that so much agricultural land is disappearing or being put up for sale. Our routes are constantly changing due to things like this, we do spend most of our weekends recceing new routes or alternative paths with our own dogs to make sure they are suitable for the various dogs we take care of.

For the second excursion the weather apps were all still stating 70-80% chance of rain, so even though it was super muggy feeling I kept my coat on incase 🤣 big mistake, it literally rained for all of 10 mins and I was sweating my tit's off 😅

The 5 strong Thursday clan are all very similar in age and energy levels, they all love canicross, so near the start we let them have a little go, I did attempt a run with my team, but unfortunately it was just too painful in my neck/back where I currently have an injury, so Euan rose to the challenge and ran all 5 together. They flew up the trail, storming passed me, all of them so focused on what they were doing ❤️
The rest of the walk we kept a steadier pace due to the humidity/temp combination making it feel muggy, that didn't stop us all having lots of fun though, Euan kept them all thoroughly entertained

Rapid blog!
A blustery overcast start! The anticipated rain never came.. meaning the strong breeze was a welcomed aid that favoured the clan's cracking pace.
No issues, the usual enthusiastic start followed by lots of focus to crunch miles, the clan mingled well especially Elvis who did really well socialising today! Zero foot traffic.

Today we welcomed back Ozzy 🥰 after 6 weeks off on his holidays, he was very excited to be back out with us. Euan walked him with Milo as they are our usual Wednesday clan members. He focused really well on the trails, following direction and loved having a run with his pal Milo who is always game for some canicross when safe to do so.

I took charge of the housemates, Maddie seemed a little less skittish today compared to last week, she showed us all the best sniffs and had quite the tail wag going on. Both of them joined Euan for a little run right at the start, then settled into a steady pace, although Jenson did pull occasionally when he heard or spotted the birds 🤯 Unfortunately after half way, Jenson had an intermittent skip with his back leg, so I  slowed him down and kept him a bit calmer to get back to the van, although the limp seemed to vanish entirely whenever he spotted birds again 😅

There was no issues, we passed 2 other dog walkers, 1 called her dog close and the dog ignored us all 👍it's great to see an offlead dog with control and good etiquette. The next popped all 3 dogs back on lead, so they didn't bother us , but I was gobsmacked that he had them off in the SAME field as the livestock (cows) yes they may have been a bit further down, but that's no excuse to let them off to run around in a field of cows. They also left bagged up 💩 on the trail, I'm guessing to collect on their way back, which could cause issues for the cows or calfs if they were to go over and eat them, just carry it! It's just very disrespectful of the farmers land, it's great that in the UK we have the pleasure of using all this farmland and them allowing public footpaths, just don't ruin it for everyone with your careless attitude.

A beautiful start to the day, great conditions for the most part☝️however it was warmer on some segments, matching the second walks average feels like of 20.3°c (yes more humidity) which did have a noticeable effect on the brachycephalic clan members. Kinda wish I'd put on my waterproof socks for that fresh dew.. but hey-ho-fe-ck it more money for the chiropodist!
The gathering made for a super mix of lurchers and bulls, the group was very focused on the loop, engaging and passed multiple distractions spot on. We bumped into lots of like minded walkers, even passing a young lad with excellent control over his lab (bonus points for picking up after his dog too)👍

Elvis was more sprightly than usual, keeping pace with his lurcher pals and following direction really well, as for the others Ben was less 'shouty' but like Maisie and Bayley eager to engage really well with all, Benson followed suit ..whilst retaining his usual stoic bad-ass tough dawg surveying of the rural landscape with every stop. Zero issues, great milage and lots of praise for some well behaved dawgs.

Unfortunately no Jasper today, an exciting time for his family, we hope everything is on course and that Emily's home before she knows it, much love!

Ah yes that broken record of "unreliable weather apps" and turbulent climate change gloom, the collection maelstrom continued for the majority of the walk.. then easing off post walk washing the dogs off back at the van😂 before blue skies
Euan had originally intended to take Elvis out bright'n'early but there was space in the van, so he tagged along with Tuesdays clan.

Luna was full of enthusiasm today pulling up front for most of the route, wagging her tail as she went, whilst Ned and Stella took it in turns to join her or walk to heel beside Elvis and I. Considering none of my group like the rain at all they all focused well and only spent minimal time attempting to shake off the rain 🤣
Euan's team didn't seem bothered by the rain in the slightest, Lottie enjoyed stomping through every puddle, whilst Rodney and Zero wagged their way through the trails.

The rain seemed to put off all the offlead 'my dog is friendly' crew, so we didn't bump into any.. in fact other than the old boys who up keep the woods, we didn't see a single soul it was bliss 🥰

A busier weekend than anticipated😅 especially with a sunday out of hours rescue mission, due to a clients understandable emergency ..in my own opinion🧂it's the result of unacceptable decisions by a 'so called sighthound savvy' kennel👀

Moving on.
I'm currently pet sitting Elvis, so we'll most likely be out bright and early everyday, the cooler temperatures certainly favour him, his solo pace was also focused and eager! We also didn't bump into anyone ..just lots of game in the woods🐿️🐦

The van was at maximum capacity for the clans 8 strong excursion, as you might have guessed it's Milo's 4th birthday! And what a cracking mix of party guests we had, all the clan followed direction well and mingled effortlessly. The boys enjoyed a little canicross at the start but we then kept it steady, another quiet loop with zero foot traffic and plenty of stimulus to keep us entertained!

🏆 4.75 Mile 🏆 🌡️18⁰c🌥 9mph🌬️

Unexpectedly it was 3⁰c close to cut off on our first excursion, the actual temperature hit 19⁰c! We were a little concerned about how warm it would get for the second, thankfully it clouded over so the temperature didn't change too dramatically.

I walked team sighthound who were rallied by Stella's squeaky battle cry and pumped to hit the trails. There was even a 'Go Go hounds, off on an adventure' comment from a dog walker about to start a walk with his dog, which made me chuckle. Ned & Reggie spent most of the walk leading my group whilst Benji & Stella took it in turns to be up front or walk to heel. All of them had the same key focus of 'I'm on a walk let's go! '

Euan walked the more excitable team Rodney, Zero & Milo, they were very eager to crunch some good mileage, setting a pretty quick average pace, the quickest pace we've done so far this week 👊 (just a side note that the average pace displayed is obviously a lot slower than we actually walk as it takes into account 💩 stops, stops for photographs and hanging back waiting for people to pass) Euan's team had lots of fun finding interesting things to climb on, sit on and jump over, with plenty of engagement from Euan too.

Tomorrow marks 2 years since Milo first joined the clan, although sometimes he can still be a little impulsive he has mellowed out a fair bit and listens really well to direction, in between mingling superbly with other clan members, it will always be great first hand seeing so much improvement.

🏆 4.65 Mile 🏆 🌡️14⁰c⛅10mph🌬️ (👈Garmins 'average' temp gives a fairly lacking estimate😅 not to mention the met offices guesstimate app).

Round 1. 7:00AM collection for another rural North Warwickshire loop.To the uninitiated our usual group numbers and calibre of dog might be baffling..Often provoking expert reactive Shih Tzu owners to pipe up, proudly declaring within ear shot, disgruntled air farts and subpar mathematical abilities almost comparable to my 6 year old niece, especially when it comes to counting the maximum number allowed per handler *check out each individual council guidelines if you're unsure🫵👀 anyway I digress as we didn't bump into any Beano characters today👍
🐶 due to the level of control, consistent mileage and a little dog sport activity when appropriate (temperatures and responsiveness to the task permitting) we only take what we can manage, always pairing for the best experience, although it's not biblically set in stone. Every walk is our maximum effort to achieve a respectful, on lead and under control group of dogs 👉in line with law and council guidelines👈, which in our eyes should be the professional standard expected, as much as we have a few small bonds built over time clients dogs are never given the same expectancy as our own due to varying levels of known commands/etc, unfortunately those go out the window occasionally due to more rewarding/new stimulus and group social dynamics😅 again, this is expected but part of the challenge🤙

We didn't see a soul on our 90 minute canihike, all the dogs merged flawlessly and took turns in leading a cracking pace! The Ball Lurcher (Benji) at the midway point acquired a fresh tennis ball on the fly, unfortunately with seemingly three..four BALL obsessed dawgs it was promptly removed, Benji's solid leave it command was👌

Thankfully the drizzle stopped and due to the rain the temperatures dropped too compared to the first excursion and the original predicted temperatures of 22⁰c at 12pm (met office reporting on Monday 😮‍💨 very close to our cut off when planning the week for our clients) But it did mean everyone enjoyed a great walk with no heat related illness risks.

Euan took charge of the Labs plus Reggie who set a great pace for us all, shared in a few canicross sprints and smashed out some impressive mileage. 👊

I took the house mates and lurchers, the lurchers Maisie & Benji took it in turns to walk to heel or upfront with Maddie, whilst Jenson flitted between watching birds and walking to heel trying to keep a cool head.

We only saw one other lady out on the trails, who kindly called her dog back, asking it to wait in a sit until we passed 10/10 dog walking etiquette from her.

Sticking to our original plan ..which had a fairly different forecast in mind we soldiered on with a 6AM collection! The early start was to aid the second excursions time slot, so it wouldn't creep near the blanket temperature cut off, it also ment the more heat susceptible clan members could join in safely, 😅however..
💦It was a super wet one! Which thankfully phased the dogs even less than us, a nice refreshing mist to aid the group's cracking pace.

Zero issues, we only bumped into one other dog walker who kindly held back off the trail with a mildly reactive spanner, all the dogs passed beautifully ignoring distraction.

Now remember these blogs are similar to university art & design (mandatory) pebble pad entries, so take everything with a fist full of salt🤜
Personally🧂 it was great seeing more stand out dog walking companies either cancel or defer to check-ins only yesterday, before the common cut off adhered by most sane 'perro entusiastas' was reached.
What wasn't cool was seeing [insert generic pet care company name pulled out of a hat🐈‍⬛Rrreee banter] walking two, old lookin brachycephalic dawgs during peak temperatures🫠hey, what's the harm with a little russian roulette with someone else's dog [rhetorical question that]?
Also whilst the rant's hit maximum screech what about inappropriate vehicles for transporting animals I might hear you say😶‍🌫️ Day one, one client☝️Our transit custom was individually lock crated, multi-lined👌 and fitted with an extractor fan that can either circulate fresh or extract it, the vans ability to keep our priceless cargo cool in the summer and warm in the winter is in words of David Attenborough "ASTONISHING"🐢, but totally madmax thunderdome in it's standard spec cab, with only two seasonal settings of The Lut Desert & MIDVINTER.

Lou was absolutely flexing today with her skills as a dog walker, we bumped into a fair few off-lead 'anomalies' and other like-minded dog walkers, all the clan were exemplary in passing distraction, beautifully social on the fly and engrossed with the woodland loop ..but also completely in-sync with us! Most coped well with today's 9:29AM kick off, obviously some more than others but there was no concern on escalation or immediate risk.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Glowing reviews, high fives and hat tilt's
"they're all wonderfully behaved".

🏆  4.63 Miles 🏆 17°c🌡️9mph🌬️👈"weather app average"

A standard 8:00am collection today due to only one walk and a reasonable forecast prediction. The van normally has the odd squeak and excited "wup-wup" on route to location.. but today there was kind of a brandy swirling calm vibe before the clan sprung out the van! Brock & Reggie T instantly sighthound-synced, gluing themselves to each other, whilst Dylan walked beautifully to heel. Both teams were a pleasure, following direction, passing distraction and engaging with us frequently.

My team set the pace, Elvis did well maintaining the sprightly average but as anticipated struggled the most (although his ability to regulate wasn't concerning or deteriorating) as the feels like reached 23°c, it then dropped to 21.3°c thanks to a good breeze on more exposed segments.

We only bumped into a couple walking two stunning looking flat-coated retrievers*, on spotting the clan the walkers promptly popped their dogs back on lead before waiting kindly off the trail, the dogs were waiting in a lovely calm sit and looked 10 in body conditioning👍
There was also a good exchange of banter: "who's walking who?" Said the old chap (that classic line), to which I looked down at my team, loose lead either side, split focused on the trail but super attentive and completely disinterested in opposite group, I put my hand on heart and said "Me"💪🍤💪💪
We then had a good laugh.

As you'll have seen Reggie T joined us for 2 walks today, as Euan's currently pet sitting him whilst his owners get married 🥰

The enjoyable breeze, cloud cover and drizzle was a welcomed relief. At the half way point the temperature was 17.7⁰c, 69.2% humidity and a feels like of 20.3⁰c compared to the 24⁰c feels like we had in the sunshine 2 hours before.

My team enjoyed a little sprint near the start but after that we kept to a good walking pace, in between walking beautifully and following direction😂 there was lots of wild man of the woods bonding with gingers dawgs ..subtle bonding and good craic.

It was a great walk with no dramas.
