Top Dog Walking Experienced, caring, reliable & flexible - walking your four legged friends since 2011 I am insured, canine first aid trained, and interested in dog behaviour.

Since October 2011 I have been providing a professional, reliable, friendly and trustworthy dog walking service. It is a delight to spend time with a variety of dogs, to see them socialise and have fun with other dogs, to gain their trust, help with their training, learn their characteristics and see each one enjoy themselves just as much as I enjoy being in the great outdoors. I moved from Oxford

shire to mid-Devon in March 2024, where I am enjoying the very beautiful countryside and all that it has to offer. Dog walking has enabled me to combine my enjoyment of the outdoors, physical exercise, and my love of dogs…it’s a perfect match! Even when the weather is cold and wet, and the fields thick with red mud, I would still rather be outdoors walking dogs than inside! My professional background is in Customer and Operational Services; the skills I developed there remain with me in my current business. I am an active member of our local church and feel privileged to work within God’s creation. I am concerned for the wider global community, and commit to giving away £1 in every £10 income.

Dogs’ stress signals often get misunderstood or missed, with some owners not realising their dog is unhappy until they growl, snap or even bite.

The canine ladder of communication is a useful guide, showing the different signals dogs show through their body language to communicate. As a dog gets more upset, their body language may change according to the steps on the ladder.

It’s important to note that all dogs are different - not every dog will show every behaviour on the ladder and might not follow the specific order.

Familiarise yourself with the signals shown above so that you can recognise them with your own dog 🐶

For Christmas 2022 Top Dog Walking sponsored a guide dog puppy for 2 years, while it underwent training and fostering. I am delighted to say that Moose has been with his new owner for a couple of months and is doing really well. This is the end of the journey for Top Dog Walking, and the start for Moose and Derek. Happy days!
