FLOODWATER WARNING

Please keep dogs away from all recent floodwater.

Not only are rivers swollen and have fast unseen currents, as well as hidden dangerous debris, floodwater means sewers get back logged and all sorts of waste is dumped into our rivers.

Flooding causes rats to abandon their homes and raises the risk of Leptosporosis, which is caught by ingestion of female rat urine which is present in water. (Your dog only has to drink from a puddle to potentially catch this.)
Vaccinated dogs can and do die from leptospirosis.
We lost our otherwise healthy 8yr old boy in October to this awful disease after being to the Long Lawford and Cawston/Bilton areas after flooding.

Please be safe, be aware. Opt for on lead walks, away from rivers and flood areas.

A beautiful bright young soul, who had to leave this world and venture into the next realm yesterday evening.

We will miss you so much Pebbles, we have so many memories of you over the past 6 years. May Flint guide you, and teach you all the ways of the next life. We love you sweet girl. 💔

All our thoughts are with her incredible parents over this time, who allowed us to say goodbye yesterday and give her lots of love and fusses and yummy duck sticks.

Unfortunately we will not be at the Solstice coffee shop festive craft market today due to Abbie having a unforgiving migraine! Really sorry for those that planned to go for our stall.

Please do pay them a visit though as they do have a lot on and will be worth the time.

⚠️Warning ⚠️

After Storm Bert, we have lots of standing water, and lots of the rivers and streams have burst.

Here's just our reminder of the disease Leptospirosis, that took the life of our boy Flint only 6 weeks ago, which can be caught from allowing your dogs to play in floodwater, or drink from puddles. Please keep them safe, on tge lead around the rivers, and walk them away from areas where the disease may be present.

We allowed him to play in this water, as we had done numerous times in the 8 years prior. It only took one tiny cut to the paw to let the bacteria in. If we had known better, or awaren ss had been spread more prior, we would have been much more cautious.

Be safe, and be aware.
We will always do what we can to raise awareness, in Flints memory. 💙

Paws up, we're at The Bear, Rugby this Sunday selling some pawsome Christmas dog treats! It's here we're be launching our Christmas Collection including the 'retired reindeer' and a special 'four bird roast'!

And if you ask super nicely we might let you say hello to little Winter who will be hiding behind our stall with us. (please don't let your dogs say hello to her though as she's not got all her jabs just yet!)

We'd like to introduce you all to the newest member of the Flintastics team; Winter!

She might not be as treat central as Flint ever was (I think that comes with the territory of owning a golden retriever!), but she's certainly got some big boots to fill.
90% fluff, 10% polar bear, Winter is a White Swiss Shepherd. She'll be joining us at the field in a few months once she's a bit older and we've done lots of work and training with her.

Well today was a bit different!
The clutch in the van didn't want to play ball, so off to the garage that went.
So walks it was!
Four really nice walks, happy pups and all before it decided to start raining!

Flint was our best boy. He was perfect, and he fought so hard, so now we need to fight to save others.

In Flints memory, I want to raise awareness of the horrible disease that is Leptospirosis.

Flint was our best boy. He was perfect, and he fought so hard, so now we need to fight to save others.
He was only walked in Rugby of recent, within both the Cawston and Long Lawford areas, which means this disease is in our local environment.

We want to fight and push for better and faster testing and treatment. The current lepto test takes 5-7 days for a result, which isn't even always accurate.
We need faster and better testing around the country, so life saving medication can be given sooner. The vaccination that is available however only covers 4 strains of the virus (1 of which isn't even present in the UK) and apparently there are at least 8 present in our environment. The virus lives in the urine of infected animals, and can be found in various water sources, on grass and in soil.

After the recent flooding, why are water companies getting away with overflowing drains? A drain in Addison Park had sanitary towels coming out of it, which would tie in with when our boy contracted this disease. But there is no way I know of testing the soil around this area.

With climate change, more rain, milder weather, are we going to see more of this, and even more cases? How many dogs have to die before something is done?

Flint passed from full renal failure in less than 72 hours. Only on Wednesday he was at the park doing his 'happy rolls'. He was the pinnacle of health, with no underlying health conditions. His first symptom was vomiting and his bloods showed that his platelet count was incredibly low.

Please be cautious, and take what precautions you can to keep your best friends safe. And give them all a huge hug from us.

Dog Playpark

Founded in 2015, the Rugby Woof Pack was a business specialising in dog walking & pet sitting. We managed to acquire an acre of land in 2017 which we have fully secured & maintained ourselves. Due to this we are able to offer play sessions for groups of friendly dogs to socialise with each other under closer supervision. We are fully insured with PetPlan Sanctuary, DBS checked and First Aid trained.

Within our price we do pick-up & drop off so there is no need for you to be home for when your dog comes to our park. This is in a vehicle which is fully equipped for the safety of your companion. Your dog will be off-lead for the sessions and be able to fully enjoy their full 1 hour which begins when all dogs are out and into our paddocks!

We operate on a 6:1 ratio for the well being if your dog, this allows us to pay close attention to every dogs need and found to be the perfect number. All dogs will go through a trial session where they are introduced to the calmest of members to the more energetic dogs, this allows us to determine their place within our groups.
