So the last of the big family birthdays finished over weekend with us celebrating my 50th birthday! It was pretty awesome with family celebrations including our first visit to Edinburgh Tattoo (utterly incredible experience!!), walking Alpacaas (oh my stars ......just awesome!!!) They are just so cute!!! 😍😍. A beautiful family meal on Saturday and then rounding off on Sunday ....... a wonderful family get together. All just absolutely perfect ❤️ Though I was a wee bit exhausted yesterday! 😂

A huge, heartfelt thank you to all my amazing family and friends for all the lovely birthday wishes and helping me celebrate this big birthday.❤️

And a very special thank you and so much love to my fabulous hubby, my gorgeous boys (human & fur babies!) and my fabulous future daughter-in-law for just making my birthday perfect. I'm so very blessed. Love you all to the moon & back

Happy Tuesday everyone.
I'm still enjoying an extended summer time break....but do pop back into Dotty HQ every now and again to do a wee bit of sewing..... just can't help myself!
I'm working on a couple of wee projects for friends and also just finished off these bags last week.
Using up various sizes of leftover material, the two messenger style bags are slightly bigger than the ones I normally make and the wee hand bag style is super cute with a decorative wee Scotty Dog button motif on front.....adorable 😍
These will be going on my website sometime next week.

So not long back from an absolutely glorious (if sometime bracing!) walk at Beacraigs park & woods with my gorgeous fur boys. Just wonderful and the fur babies had THE best time exploring, with their wee tails non stop wagging at all the smells.

Back in Dotty HQ, pups are now snoring their wee heads off ..... and I'm working today on a personal project with the most beautiful flower design fabrics, which made me think of my wee fabric tulips that I have currently available on my website. I won't be making any more of these until next year, but these ones are very sweet, cheerful and brighten up any room.
I personally love the peach fabric set and the red dots & gingham set. Always make me smile when I see them. 🌷😍

Just enjoying a delicious wee coffee after finishing off the last bag of this batch of wee bags I've been working on and off for ages! Finally finished & off my 'to do' list!!
And super excited about my recent delivery of new material, which I am loving ......especially the absolutely adorable wee field mouse design - seriously ....... how cute is that design??!! 😍 ❤️
All will be made into bags (various styles) - can't wait to make a start on these bags!
But for now, I'm kicking, relaxing with my coffee and enjoying rest of Sunday!

I've had a few days out recently and have been using my own personal wee over shoulder bags constantly - for lunches out, walking the fur boys etc - they're a great wee bag for storing all my essentials like purse, phone, small make up items and of course puppy treats!

With a hidden zipped pocket, small pockets at back and small inner pockets as well - plenty of storage for small items.
Main body of bag is deceptively roomy and I've had wonderful feedback that it holds all essential holiday items, so a handy wee bag to take on holiday.

I've been recently working on more Tartan versions, but these non Tartan ones are in various funky, really cute and sweet designs.

Back from a super relaxing week away at one of our happy places! The fur boys were just in paradise on their favourite beach at Elie. We couldn't go on all our usual big coastal walks this time, as my wee Harvey boy had a sore leg, but we enjoyed several shorter coastline walks and of course their favourite Elie beach walks. We had some super sun shiney days, which was amazing. Harvey also had his 7th birthday when we were away, so we popped into the fantastic pet shop in Anstruther to pick a new toy, he got lots of cuddles & treats from the lovely ladies who work there and between pup cakes and puppy ice cream - was puppy treat overload!
Great week away and as usual we were all sad to leave.
Back in Dotty HQ tomorrow. 🐾🐾❤️

Almost the weekend and I have enjoyed a bit of a more chilled week! Just working on a wee order for a lovely lady and I finally managed to sit down and start updating my website! Woohoo!
New wee gift bags and retro style waist aprons additions are now on my website and these full adult aprons will be going on over weekend.
All are fully lined and with extra long side ties are perfect for trying a huge bow at back or wrap around waist & tie in front.
The paw print and bumble bee are lined with equally gorgeous material so could be used as reverse aprons - just a thought!

I'm now looking forward to a quiet weekend catching up with family.

Oh my stars ...... it's been another week of many celebrations in our household with eldest cherub celebrating turning 21 last week! It's all go and we have another 21st & 50th still to go this year!!

I'm not been able to spend as much time sewing last few months, but have made this wee selection of mini bags recently. These aren't available on my website just now, as a couple of them may be part of a pre-order. But once selection made, the remainder will go on my website.

As we do have so much on over next few months and it's been very busy year so far, I've made a decision to take an extended summer break this year. I'll still be sewing a wee bit, posting every now and again, but with the view of concentrating more for my Christmas ranges. I'll be back more regularly from middle of Sept, but I will be keepng my website regularly updated with new stock as I make it.

Wow! What a way to start my week yesterday. My fabulous hubby gifted me at Christmas a Blair Drummond Safari Park Zoo Keeper day experience, which I did yesterday - ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!!!

Then today hubby confirmed he's booked us back for a wee holiday to Elie with fur bairns (which me & the fur boys are already excited about!) Just mentioned the word beach and Cooper's wee tail goes into overdrive!! 🤣
Anyway, got me thinking about summer holidays and how I use several of my own big denim 'shopper style' bags as beach & pool bags. Perfectly fits all my beach essentials- towels, sunhats, water, lotion and all the various bits & pieces I deem essential! Great for doing wee bits of holiday shopping too!

I have 4 denim ones left - 3 with floral design mini Mrs & Mrs Dotty Dogs on front (lined with same floral material.
And 1 seasidey vibes with a blue & white nautical stripe material Dotty Dog (again lined with the same nautical material)

I seem to be very neglectful of Dotty Scotty just now, as haven't spent much time in HQ sewing. However, it has been a very exciting & epic time celebrating big birthdays this year and on top of all our milestone birthdays, our eldest cherub recently proposed to his fabulous girlfriend .....and she said yes! Woohoo!! ❤️
So several amazing celebrations over the last few weeks for this wonderful occasion. Hubby and I are absolutely over the moon ecstatic, delighted and just so utterly happy for our wonderful newly engaged couple!! Such a beautiful moment to mark in our family 2024 memory book. We wish them so much love in this wonderful next chapter in their life journey. ❤️❤️🍾🥂❤️❤️ xx

Good Morning to you all & what an absolutely glorious Saturday morning it is - just fabulous! Just back from a beautiful walk with my fur boys and now enjoying a lovely coffee in my garden.

Back in February, I made a start on different style aprons for my Christmas Range this year, so thought I'd do a wee post of my remaining waist style aprons I still have in stock.

The flower & gingham 'retro' style waist aprons are quirky & pretty, but practical. Wash and iron lovely, fully lined and have long waist ties that can tie in front of apron or a super big bow at back. With a wee side pocket as well to keep bits n bobs in. I have made quite a few for myself for sewing, cooking and gardening and find them a great wee style for all that. These are £12.00 each

The 2 denim/flower waist aprons are a different style and I promoted them as garden aprons - the denim is a great heavy duty material and with the big front pockets is perfect for storing all garden essentials. I use mine all the time and again they wash up great. These are £15.00 each

Happy Sunday! It's a bit dreich again - got absolutely soaked walking the fur babies! Currently sprucing up the house a wee bit - walking the fur boys in our weather does takes a wee toll on our walls! 😂

Haven't been able to sew as much lately, as been busy with office work and family life, but I have been working on these wee bags since January. Hoping to build up a nice wee selection in this range - first a como of Tartan/Fine Cord and full Tartan. I'm also planning a Tartan/Denim range in this style.

Cute wee 'handbag' style - Shorter strap than my messenger style bags (so not an over the shoulder style), has internal pockets and close with a metallic clasp. Not too big, but again purses, phones & essentials fit nicely inside.

Ooh I'm really enjoying this lovely sunshine and just about to switch off workwise today and sit outside with my fur babies.
Another wee set of bags I had made a few months ago and just getting round to popping them on my website. Had this fabulous fairy material left over from another wee project and thought I'd used it up to make some of my wee bags. Lined with funky colourful polka dot material to match the fabulous colours in the design. I just think these are such sweetly cheerful, fun & happy wee bags.

Aww so the rain & grey skies are back but hope you all enjoyed the sunshine & blue skies while it lasted!!
I was in my happy place over weekend starting work on my garden - garden therapy with my fur boys is one of my favourite chilling out hobbies.
Got one bit all finished then me & fur boys enjoyed relaxing on the decking once all done.

What an absolutely glorious day!!!!! Decided to take a few hours to start working in garden and ended up pretty much all day working in it - once I get started...... I've thoroughly enjoyed getting my garden sanctuary all clean, tidy and ready for planting.
Thought I'd post a wee pic of the fabulously whimsical 'Thistle' material I had bought earlier this year. The sort of maroon background/Thistles material goes really nice with the maroon cord material; and I hadn't realised when i bought it - but the purple material has fairies featured on its design - making it a really fun & sweet wee bag.

So this morning I had the most amazingly fun time painting my version of Kay Devine Art's beautiful Harriet Hare at her absolutely fantastic Paint & Sip Art Class. What an absolute blast we had!!
It was me & 2 other wonderful ladies and we just had such a great fun time. I've been wanting to attend one of Kay's Paint & Sip class for ages and was super excited when I booked this one.

Taken part in one of her classes was awesome. Kay carefully explained all about different canvases, types of paint & all the brushes we would use. Kay then talked us through the initial pencil sketch of Harriet and then walked us through the painting techniques. For complete non artists and total beginners like me and the other ladies, Kay was just a brilliant teacher in encouraging, helping, advising and delighting in all our finished pictures which we managed to do all by ourselves with Kay helping us out a wee bit here & there. Hugely informative for non artists/beginners like myself, above all it was just great fabulous fun!!! I loved it and having no artistic bone in my body, I was just delighted my finished result looked a bit 'Hare like' !!! 🤣🤣
So thank you ever so much Kay for a fabulous morning/afternoon. David & I are defo going to sign up for another one soon!

Happy Thursday! Back in Dotty HQ this week after a couple of weeks off celebrating my fabulous rockstar hubby's 50th birthday. These celebrations included a fantastic holiday (if slightly windy & wet!) back to Elie with the furbairns, wonderful family dinners out in Glasgow, a lovely family birthday buffet, a visit to the awesome Bo'ness Motor Museum (hubby is a HUGE 007 fan) & it houses a massive Bond memorabilia collection, an absolutely awesome night out with our fantastic kids to a Concert by Candlelight - Beatles Tribute followed by trip to The Brewdog Pub. Then hubby & I finished off celebrations with an overnight stay in beautiful Loch Lomond and then today the most incredible afternoon tea at Fingal Edinburgh as a joint 'hubby's birthday/our anniversary celebration.
So many wonderful memories made to add to our life journey! I hope we made turning 50 epic for you babes, as you totally rock my hubby! Love ya babes! ❤️❤️

So just wanted to say once again a HUGE & very appreciative thank you to all the wonderful ladies and gentleman for purchasing wee chocolate filled Easter Bags to raise money for Strathcarron Hospice. All proceeds raised of the wee bags were going to Strathcarron, so I had hoped to raise £60 from the sale of 12 wee bags. However my wonderful mother in law, mum, hubby and my lovely friend from yoga donated extra, which I didn't expect and was so utterly grateful for. I topped up as well so £115.00 in total was raised and sent to Strathcarron, helping with a wee admin cost the total was £117.30
I honestly can't express adequately how bowled over I was by all your kindness, generousity and support to raise these much needed funds. So a huge heartfelt and very grateful thank you so much to you all. ❤️ ❤️ xx

Good Morning & Happy Monday. Just wanted to give a huge thankful shout out to my fabulous Yoga teacher - Susan Ross @ Hatha Yoga by Susan.
At weekend, I was at an amazing yoga Spring retreat that Susan organised in Dyrmen. I have never experienced a yoga retreat before and it was absolutely fantastic. The whole weekend we got to experience all the different types of yoga clases Susan teaches as well as guided meditation, forest bathing & outdoor Tai Chi. As well as having some free time to visit the beautiful wee village of Drymen. And the weather was kind to us as well and turned into such a beautful Spring weekend. It was a brilliant group of ladies and I met some ladies who attend some of Susan's other clases than the one I attend, so made some new friends as well.
So thank you so much Susan - it was an incredible weekend and I really appreciate all your hard work, planning and taking such good care of us all. It was fabulous and I can't wait for the next one!!! Thank you ❤️ 😘 xx

Took a wee break from making my Tartan bags and had a pile of Harris Tweed & Wool Blend Tartan left over bits n' bobs material that I've been waiting to use up. Decided I'd make some mini love heart keyrings out of them. Finished off with pretty flower buttons, they've turned out quite cute and great way to use up all my smaller leftover pieces.

A huge big heartfelt THANK YOU for the wonderful response to my wee chocolate filled Easter Bags to raise money for Strathcarron Hospice. So far 8 wee bags have been sold with all proceeds raised going to Strathcarron Hospice, which I'm absolutely over the moon with!

So I came across a wee selection of these mini Easter themed bags I had made, stored away and forgotten I had!

I have now filled them all with wee mini Easter themed chocolates net bags and hoping to sell them all as a fundraising gift for Strathcarron Hospice. I have previously donated wee Dotty Tartan Lavender Hearts to Strathcarron, which people very kindly bought to raise some funds for them. So I thought I would try to fund raise with these wee bags.

All proceeds from the wee bags (apart from postage) will be donated to Strathcarron Hospice. If you live locally to me, happy to deliver direct instead of posting out to you.

There are only 12 chocolate filled bags - 4 wee drawstring pouches & 8 wee drawstring bags and all of them cost £5.00 each. They are on my website under Easter bags, but if prefered, you can contact me direct if you wish one particular bag set aside. Hoping they will all go off to lovely new homes❤️
