You’ve had an absolutely magical time with your dogs over the Christmas period… but let’s be honest, there were definitely moments when you wished they’d just calm the heck down….or, dare I say, actually listen to you for a change!

Sound familiar? 😂

If you’re nodding along, then my impulse control course, 'Calm Yer Beans', is just what you need!

This isn’t your typical online course with a trainer and their perfectly behaved dog making it all look easy. Nope, this is real life training, with real life challenges.

Shall we tackle those wild, chaotic moments together and finally get your dog’s party mode antics under control? Yeah? Awesome!

Ready to start? Let’s do this! 🐾

Happy New Year! 🎉

Will this be the year you finally crack your dog’s recall? 👀🐕

Here’s a common misconception I see all the time… 👇

Throwing a ball or toy for your dog and having them bring it back isn’t the same as recall. While it might look similar, there’s more to building a reliable recall than a game of fetch!

Here’s why 👇

-Your dog bringing back a ball is part of a predictable pattern… they’re focused on the game, not your cue.

-That said, if your dog enjoys retrieving and gets close to you with the ball, it’s a great way to create positive associations with coming back to you.

-But to build real recall, practice your cue in everyday situations without relying on a ball or toy.

If you’re ready to take the faff out of recall training, come and join our Teenage Tearaways Recall Course!

Wishing you an amazing New Year, whatever your plans may be! 😊

I want to say a HUGE thank you to each of you for choosing me to work with you and your dogs this year. Watching you all build such incredible bonds with your dogs has been honestly amazing, and it’s been an absolute privilege to be part of your training experience.

This year has been an absolute roller-coaster behind the scenes so I’m even more grateful and I’m excited that we get to continue into next year as well. Thank you for being you

Ps cos I can’t stop being a trainer - If you’re expecting fireworks tonight (even if you aren’t!) don’t forget to check out my blog for tips on helping your dog stay calm. 👇

Our Tearaways were tamed over the last 5wks 💪

Their humans put the work in and practised everything they'd been learning and we smashed our final session.

Having the classes in real life, distracting environments meant we could really see progress and I was there to support when needed 🙌

They now fully enjoy every walk knowing they have an even stronger connection with their dog.

One of the common questions I get as a dog trainer is...

Why does my dog do this?! 🤯

This is a big❓️and can have many answers but one common explanation is development stages.

The reasons behind dogs behaviour can often be linked to not only the stage of development they are in but also what their early experiences with things were.

My webinar helps demystify the developmental stages our dogs go through. Allowing you to understand your dog better.

❓️ Puppy development made easy

❓️ How to support them through fear periods

❓️ Surviving adolescent

❓️ The joys of adulthood

❓️ Helping your senior dog

If you want to know even more then you can watch my full 90 minute webinar. Go for it! Link in bio! Go for it!👇

O' Christmas Tree, O' Christmas Tree, how dangerous are your branches! 🎶🎄

That’s a Becky Special version of the classic song…. but perhaps it will keep the following fresh to remember each year 👇

✨ Supervise your dog whenever they’re near the tree.
✨ Keep fairy light cables tidy and out of the way of your dog’s mouth.
✨ Hang decorations high to prevent chewing or swallowing.
✨ Avoid hanging chocolate decorations on the tree.
✨ Keep presents away from under the tree… especially edible ones.
✨ Use a puppy pen if necessary to create a safe barrier.

Scientifically proven. Facts are facts. 😂

Our last Yellowcraigs classes of 2024 have graduated! 🎉

What a great few weeks we've had together. You've all come on leaps and bounds 💪

With the festive season fast approaching we really wanted to nail not jumping up.

Making sure our dogs know a Sit is the best way to get paid helps gives our dogs a solid behaviour to offer instead of jumping up.

I have every confidence your guests will be welcomed politely by your dogs 🙌

Our New Year classes are open for booking and spaces are going fast 😳

Bah Humbug. You guys know by now… Halloween is my season and Christmas… not so much! 😂

However, here’s a super important list of winter and festive season dangers to be mindful of! 👇

🍰 Raisins (in cakes etc) – are harmful and can cause poisoning.

🍽️ Counter Surfing – Dogs love to sneak food, so keep it out of reach.

🔋 Batteries – Found in kids’ toys, these can be deadly if chewed.

🎄 Christmas Tree Water – Can contain chemicals harmful to dogs.

🕯️ Candles – easily be knocked over, causing a fire hazard.

🧸 Small Toys & Decorations – Can be a choking hazard or swallowed.

❄️ Frozen Paws – Salt and grit on the roads can irritate your dog’s paws.

🌿 Festive Plants – some common Christmas plants are toxic to dogs.

💡 Fairy Lights – Dogs may chew on wires, risking electric shock.

🍬 Sweets – Xylitol, found in sugar-free treats, is toxic to dogs.

🎁 Wrapping & Ribbon – bits can be swallowed, causing blockages.

🚪 Open Doors – With guests coming and going, be sure to keep your dog safely inside to avoid them running off.

Share this post and Merry Christmas! 😂

Thank you to all who popped along and chatted with me 🤗

You kept me so busy I only managed to capture these gorgeous faces. But there were many more I didn't get a picture of.

You had some great questions and I could see your dogs meant the world to you.

I also loved seeing the relationship between the staff and everyone who came in. You guys have really built a great community where you'll support each other about all manner of things.
I love it!

A huge thank you to Natalie for reaching out and making last night happen I had a blast 😀

Our Story

East Coast Dog Training was founded in 2015 by 3 trainers, Sarah, Becky & Jodi. With the aim to teach you & your dog the skills needed for everyday life, whilst making it fun. Our dog training classes are brought to you in a relaxed & informal setting. We only use positive, science based training techniques. We will not use aversive techniques that may cause fear, alarm or pain to your dog.

2018 brought some changes for us with Sarah & Jodi moving on to expand their own businesses. I took over the classes, keeping our original ethos going.

Our courses run for 7weeks and cost £70.
