I am super excited to announce that I will be starting group neutrality classes 🐾

The aim of these classes is to provide a safe, fun and controlled environment for you to practise your training around other dogs.

Classes are £15 per dog and will be announced in a dedicated WhatsApp group. So, if you are interested and would like to book onto some of these classes, drop me a message to be added to the chat!

Our first class is on Saturday 16th November at 10am - looking forward to seeing you there!

Meet Atlas, the most gorgeous 9 month old malamute pup!

Atlas is a very friendly boy but can sometimes be a bit much for the other two dogs in the home, who are much smaller than him. His owner also needs to be able to walk all three dogs enjoyably and so we have been working on his leash manners and general boundary setting in the home.

He also has a very high prey drive and in his short career he has already caught a pheasant and cannot be trusted with the family's chickens and cat. We're halfway through his training programme and still have a little way to go with this but his owners have been super dedicated and he's made so much progress already. Hard work always pays off! 💪🏼

✨Rudie✨

Rudie is a ball of drive and energy and struggles with his impulse control. He gets very frustrated around dogs which results in the signature Frenchie scream, and understandably leaves his owner wanting to avoid other dogs on walks. He and the other dog in the home can also get easily overaroused, and situations like play or visitors coming over can sometimes result in a scrap.

His owners have been super dedicated with implementing some simple rules and boundaries at home, and friends have commented how much they have improved which is always lovely to hear! We have also started using play to work on impulse control, and last session Rudie saw more dogs than he had seen in a long time. I'm super excited to see Rudie's progress - keep an eye out for more updates!

A snap from a recent home session with Bailey the XL bully mix. He is such a friendly, cheeky young boy and whilst he is great out and about, at home he has learnt which buttons to push to get what he wants, which usually involves stealing things in order to create a game!

We worked on creating a little more structure and gave his owners ways of addressing unwanted behaviours without accidentally reinforcing them. As play is quite often on his terms, we also introduced cues to open and close the play window, with the aim of making it super clear what will and will not start a game.

Bailey is a perfect example of the breed and an absolute joy to work with!

Me, Oliver and Harley are home after spending 3 weeks dog sitting for and her house full of boxers, hence the lack of content over the last few weeks! It's safe to say I'm exhausted but they were a pleasure to care for - here's a few snaps of their gorgeous faces!

✨Missy✨

Missy is a 6 month old chihuahua puppy who I have been working with for some basic puppy training.

We have been getting her used to walking on a lead, teaching her a basic marker system and doing lots of exposure work to build her confidence. She is the sweetest little girl and has been so quick to learn 🥹

I was lucky enough to work Harley at Larry Krohn's first workshop, where I wanted some help with some guarding behaviours.

The situations are pretty specific and he will not show these behaviours with dogs he is comfortable around, so I have tended to resort to management in scenarios where I cannot set him up for success with an unknown dog.

Larry gave some great advice and methods to help Harley feel less of a need to guard, but also to create a really clear picture so that I have a better ability to help him in situations where he does feel uncomfortable. It was strangely a relief to hear that I may always need to manage this to a degree. Genetically Harley is a breed with a strong guarding instinct and he is incredibly drivey, but can be insecure and on top of that he has to navigate life with no hearing so he may always be uncomfortable with resources around unfamiliar dogs.

Sometimes I wish I had an all-round "easy" dog but I wouldn't change him for the world as he's made me a much better handler and trainer than I would have otherwise been.

Last week I was lucky enough to attend not one but two workshops with the amazing Larry Krohn and I have had the most fantastic 6 days of learning, surrounded by some really inspirational people and dogs.

I have taken so much away and I am looking forward to putting it into practise. Larry's teachings aren't complicated but so often overlooked and I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from him.

As always, a huge thank you to for being an amazing host and for giving us all the chance to learn from some incredible trainers.

This boy deserves a huge appreciation post 🖤

Having previously been dog reactive I have always been conscious of the situations that I put him in but he has absolutely smashed everything I have thrown at him these past few months and has shown just how far he has come.

From being my stooge in training sessions, to having new dogs in the house, to the way he interacts with other dogs on pack walks I am so so proud of him and so grateful that I can rely on him to help me do my job because it definitely hasn't always been that way!

I took these two handsome boys to their owners wedding yesterday. It was a beautiful wedding and they were so well behaved. Don't they look smart in their matching bow ties 🥹

Marvin can be dog and people reactive and needs a walker with experience with this in order to keep him and others safe. He's the sweetest, cheekiest boy and loves a game of fetch 🎾

That's a wrap 2024! I wanted to say the biggest thank you to every single person who has supported me over the last 8 months, in whatever capacity that may be. Becoming self employed has been super scary but so worth it and I can't wait to see what 2025 brings!

Oliver's focussed heel update 🐾 I've been working on maintaining contact and head position even if I lose a little bit of expression. I don't need a focussed heel for any reason other than it looks cool, but I'm really enjoying the process of teaching it. There's so many aspects to think about and it is completely different to my normal world of pet training and behaviour work.
