Hello and apologies for radio silence. We have been busy in the background.

Yesterday we were alerted to a litter of kittens who were alone in a dangerous area. Close to a road and with dogs being walked and let off leash to chase the kittens and kill. Their mother had been killed on the road. Nicosia is an area we don’t generally work in but these souls needed help. We now have 7 little ones in foster. They have fleas etc and they have been treated and had a full vet check. They are healthy but need treatment and good food which they are now receiving. So far our costs are mounting up and whilst we know that money is tight for everyone the cost of a cup of coffee would really help us to ensure they are given the best care.

We really need your help. We have a kitten in foster who MAY have FIP but right now, the test has just been sent off to the Lab and will take time for the result to be available. Meantime, we have taken the decision to start the medication, as we feel that to wait (it could be a couple of weeks for the result to be returned) would be wrong. We need to give this kitten a chance. She is almost 5 months old and has been healthy all along and has had 3 separate Triple tests for Giardia, Parvo and Coronavirus ALL of which have been negative. She presented with a temperature yesterday, and that has gone back to normal, and her blood tests - full bloods were taken - all appear within normal parameters, BUT this doesn't explain an enlarged lymphnode in her abdomen area. That has been aspirated. The vet believes she has a virus, she is on strong antibiotics, but as we know viral infection doesn't respond to antibiotics, but if there is any bacterial infection, then of course it will respond. We are taking every step we can for this girl. She deserves her life. With than in mind, we will set up a fundraiser, raffle shortly, but in the meantime, if anyone would like to contribute the price of a coffee to our fund, then we'd be so so grateful. We know times are hard, we just hope that we might raise funds to help us with her treatment. We don't receive any funding, we are a private/personally run rescue, so 'every little helps'. Thanks for reading, and for any donations, they can be sent via PayPal (friends and family) and if you can reference it 'for Katie'. We thank you for reading, and will pop a photo of Katie up just shortly. She's had a busy and testing day. Lets make all of that worthwhile. 🙏

Our raffle preview. Prints of wonderful quirky cats (original artist Lyn Leach). These will be offered as sets shortly. They are lovely and on a decent weight card, which will enable these to be framed by the winners. A4 and A5 size.

We’ve been quiet but busy in the background. We will be holding a raffle to raise funds for kittens found at Jamie Oliver’s Kitchen at Limassol Marina. They are now in rescue and looking for prospective parents. We want to fundraise to help with flight costs. They are fully tested and deserve a future. Keep your eyes peeled!

Well, our foursome are now on countdown to fly to U.K. rabies vaccination and microchip done early this week so these little ones will be flying into U.K. in the next few weeks. They are available for adoption.

ALL girls, although their behaviour isn’t always ladylike 😂

Darcy, Sassy, Lottie and Freya.

Short video of them running in the corridor before they were captured for their vet visit at the beginning of the week!

If you are interested in adopting then please feel free to drop us a message. We don’t bite 😉

Today saw this lovely Mother and her 3 babies handed over to our lovely cat mad friend in Cyprus. They had been fed by people there but they were leaving the island later today. They are safe, they are cared for (had been cared for nicely) and Mum will be spayed and babies rehomed when they time comes.

To help, we would really like to be able to offer sponsorship for their food.

Would anyone like to offer monthly sponsorship for one kitten/cat. There are 3 plus Mum.

The cost would be £25 each per month and would cover good quality food and worming.

Please consider helping. It’s less than the price of a coffee each day. You can also choose a name. We will update on sexes once they are fully settled.

Please comment if you would like to sponsor - it would make a difference to this small family.

Thank you.

Time to introduce Peanut! Peanut was found on her own and there was no trace of her mother. Searches were done, but no mother found. She was taken in by a local lady but she was unable to keep her. We stepped in, and had her tested, all tests negative, and treatment given for her eyes which had an infection. That has all cleared. She is in foster and is the sweetest girl, really so precious. She has had her first vaccination and so will be transitioning to the nursery area where there are a few other kittens (all tested and vaccinated). I hope they are ready for this Live wire.

She will be flying to UK and we are looking for a potential home for her. We offer full support ongoing. Homecheck and Adoption Fee will apply.

After a long absence, we are back and we have 4 beautiful kittens who are looking for their perfect homes. Currently in Cyprus, they were pulled from a shelter where they had been taken. The reason? We wanted to ensure they lived. Four beautiful sisters.

We will be preparing them for travel. They e already had blood tests, all clear, and they are enjoying their stay at the lovely foster cattery.

Please feel free to message us here if you are interested. Adoption Fee and Homecheck will apply.

This may well sum up life with a cat for many. 😉
To the people who don’t have a sense of humour, perhaps stop reading right now, as this is meant to be funny…
Borrowed from a friend:

Before you get your first kitten or cat, take this test to find out if you can cope with living and looking after your kitten 😂 (borrowed from online)
1. Buy some curtains, you know the really expensive ones, take a knife and slice your curtains twelve times a day.
2. Routinely walk up to shelves and where you place your ornaments, knock them down to their deaths at least once per day.
3. Buy some cat litter, throw it around your carpets, just after you have hoovered.
4. Buy a brand new charger for your phone, take scissors and cut the end off. Repeat every week.
5. Go into your garden with a spade, look for earth worms, scatter a few worms around the house before going to bed. Set alarm clock for 3,4,5,6am and get up removing one worm at a time from your home and place back into the garden. (this can also be repeated with mice, leaves, insects, birds and other living creatures from the wild including squirrels). Leave a few of the worms, hidden and then collect 3 weeks later.
6. Randomly stab pins in your legs, arms and back.
7. Take some sand paper and rub it on your cheeks, hands, legs and eyelids (repeat after every bath or shower) .
8. Place a brick on the stairs before you go to bed and try stepping over it in the morning.
9. Place hair on clean clothes that have just been washed and ironed, also random drops of poo once a week.
10. Walk in wet mud with shoes on, then proceed to walk all over your kitchen counters three times a day.
11. Take a razor blade to all soft furnishings in your home.
12. Ask a friend to sit up all night slapping you in the face randomly.
13. Throw random small items from around the house under sofas and fridges.
14. On rainy days soak a cloth in cold water, place hair all over said cloth, sit and watch your favourite programme with the cloth on your lap, randomly slapping your face with soggy, hairy cloth.
15. Ask a friend to roll a football down your stairs, but only whilst your watching your favourite tv programme, relaxing or sleeping.
16. Open front door, wait for 3 minutes, close front door, then open back door, wait for 3 minutes then close. Repeat 20 times a day.
Repeat every day for 6 months and if you still think that getting a kitten is a good idea, Congratulations, you might be ready to get your kitten 🐈‍⬛

Whilst prices are all escalating, and people are tightening their belts, I want to share this post, as this rescue, Stray Cats Rescue Team West Midlands are an exceptional rescue here in the U.K. Please do check our their page. Right now, they are treating a LOT of cats, all of whom were strays, had issues of one thing or another, and this included a cat who had been hit pretty much face on by a car, and yet people allowed him just to wander in pain. Thankfully they were alerted, and Mario had the treatment he needed, and is now recovering and doing brilliant, and has been adopted, although has not yet left for his new home. The price of a cup of coffee or indeed even £1 will help, as if lots of people donated that, then it would mount up and the ongoing costs could be covered. Lets not let these cats down. Check the page, see the photos/videos and above all, share.

Thank you so much for reading, and for all that you all do.

Dumped weeks ago, without mother, to die. They were lucky to be found. Have been hand-reared, and are now weaning and, are just bundles of cuteness. These kittens are available for adoption to U.K., once all tests, passport etc., are carried out. Is there anyone out there who can take one (or more) into their hearts/homes? Homecheck and Adoption Fee area applicable. Flight costs will be covered by Pawsome.

Whilst we know that prices are increasing and will continue to do so, but any small amount will help this cause. The total raised so far is over £3.5K BUT this is ongoing, and the situation in Ukraine is changing hourly. There is a vast support network set up, and funds raised WILL get food etc., to those in need. Please also share. That helps and this situation is becoming more and more critical. Thank you as always.

Hello! I just wanted to let you see me, without my siblings, as I think I'm the best looking one!! I'm modest too! I'll be looking for a special home, and so are my siblings. So thats all 3 of us, but we know we probably won't be able to stay together. Whats super important for us, is that someone loves us, and cares for us, as we are really happy now, as we are healthy and we have lots of food, and care. We never knew what that was before.

Depending on flights we hope to be flying late February. We aren't sure what that is, but they say its not too bad, and at the end of it, we will start our new lives. We've already started those, thanks to Themis, as he found us, and got us safe when these Pawsome people asked him to. Not all kittens are so lucky.

Meet Robyn - who is a dilute tortie with lots of white and Noki - who is black. Not are currently in Cyprus. Both are being prepared to travel to the U.K. we are hoping to help in finding them their forever home. They are great friends and ideally we would hope they can stay together.

Could they fit into your home?

Earlier we posted about 3 kittens who had been dumped. A reality each and every day in Cyprus. No large rescue organisations and those private rescuers are over-run with cats and kittens. Its a never-ending situation and its awful. The 3 kittens were seen by a rescuer who we know, and one of the kittens was, as mentioned, sick. We stepped in. Requested that the kittens were caught and taken to a vet for treatment. That was approximately 4 weeks ago. The sick kitten would not have survived. We can tell you that all 3 kittens are all well, and have had any required veterinary treatment. They have been vaccinated. Their new lives have begun. The are being prepared to fly to the U.K., and will be looking for their purrfect home(s). It was December Rain, we introduce Slash, Axel and Rose, our Guns'n Roses babies. Safe and never to be hungry alone or again.

This is reality in Cyprus. 3 kittens who clearly had been with their mother, dumped. Why? Look at them, look at where they are? One is sick. Can you ignore them? Can you leave them to what is almost certainly going to be a horrid life, one probably not going to survive, and the other two possibly affected also? No large rescues over there, only volunteers with no funds. So, could you turn a blind eye to these kittens? Check back later, and we will update.

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year. May 2022 be kinder to us all.
