🎯
And I hear a lot of people say the don’t know if their dog is in pain as their companion ‘don’t speak English’ or their cat is ‘masking their pain, not showing it’…..
This is not quite true.
Because they DO speak to us.
Just not using our human language for this either.
They show their pain, their suffering (if they are!?) as well as their love.
Subtly.
With loyalty.
In Stillness.

I see my calling as being ‘their translator as well as their saviour’. They are our angels.
We set them free when their Angel job with us is done.
I see myself, not at all as a vet, but as one so fortunate to every day, ‘go to work’ and get to send our angels home.
I couldn’t imagine a more fulfilling way to spend my time here on earth.
It’s not work.
It’s an honour.
To have found a way to send them off like they truly deserve, after all they’ve done for us.
I’m the humbled blessed one, to be the Angel Transit Pilot.
Much love,
Dr Suzen 🐾❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹😇

JOB ANNOUNCEMENT!🐾

Update 28/4/25:THANK YOU, lovely community, for the tremendously positive response to our search.
Please note we are not able to take anymore applications at the moment. Thank you so much 😊🐾

Dr Suzen & our small, family-run Vets2Home Team, are excited to be looking for a new wonderful reception team member! We need you!

Initially, part-time (10-15hrs/weekly with more hours opening up later this summer).
Home-based tele reception.
Full training provided (online & in person).
Must have basic IT/computer skills and great (telephone handling) communication skills.
🐾
We are looking for that amazing human, who would like to help us make beautiful memories for our animal patients and their families.
From the very first contact to the very last breath, and beyond, we all go out of our way to make this experience the best forever memory possible of having a calm and gentle goodbye, with a highly valued - and much loved - furry family member.
Basically all our patients (& their families) are treated as if they were our own 🐾

Making that first contact, that first call, to us, we know from 20+ years experience, is often the absolute hardest any animal lover/guardian ever has to do.
Making that last call is just beyond heart-breaking….🐾

If you are an animal lover (as we are), compassionate, empathetic, maybe with a background in the veterinary or reception world (not essential) but you work efficiently and happily, independently from home (8.30am-5pm/7 days a week all year round, are our office opening hours), we are a close-knit team and would love to hear from you.
🐾
Please EMAIL Amanda (our Practice Manager, Dr Suzen’s daughter) for a full job description on
🐾
[email protected].
🐾
We are eagerly waiting to hear from you 🐾💚.
PLEASE SHARE THIS POST🤞🐾

Life is really difficult at times. For us all.
Make time to smile (even through tears) when you see a sign from a loved (but lost) one….
It could be anything that suddenly triggers a feeling, a memory, a moment…..a feather, a rainbow, a flower, a smell, a dream.… a flurry of white doves out of nowhere…
Try to stop!
Be present and smile, with your heart.
Be grateful for the gentle trigger of the love that was, it still lives inside you. Forever. Never let that feeling go.

Stop. Listen. Be still. Be in the love that never leaves.

Season of Hearts❤️: All of us here at Vets2Home want to say just ‘WOW’ and extend a huge ‘THANK YOU’ to Karen (& Lacey - RIP) who has really gone ALL out with sending us the nicest and biggest boxed surprise this Christmas🎄 !
Last week, in our PEACEHAVEN office, we received a huge white box, full of lovely sweet meticulously wrapped little thoughtful presents containing an abundance of tasty (naughty) treats and nice cards to each and everyone of us.
Amanda’s lovely very elderly childhood rescue cat, Spike (aged 18 1/2yrs - who was hours away from dying of cat ‘Parvo’ when he was merely 5-6 weeks old!) helped us unpack all the goodies….
Also incredibly touching was the envelope with a very generous donation to support our new Angel charity work, with helping senior cats not be put to sleep (in Sussex & Portugal) but instead finding temporary foster and forever homes to these senior cats that come to us occasionally and who clearly have more time left. Thank you SO much Lacey, Karen (& mum) for this super thoughtful, generous and amazing gesture to all of us (& in memory of Lacey, the beautiful little black girl we helped Karen send off 🌈💔 last year). We are very touched and humbled. ❤️🐾
Happy Christmas to you and your new loves, your two young kitty cats - here to receive and share all that left over love that was left behind…. 😻

FULL UPDATE!!! Love & kindness is fur real….
WHO DOESN’T LOVE A HAPPY ENDING! Read on….

Best friends/siblings(?) Monty & Delphi, arrived Sunday in their loving, forever home in St Leonard’s.
After housing these two elderly kitties for a few weeks and, not least, rescuing them from needlessly being put to sleep, Dr Jo delivered these two 🐾angels to a childless couple in East Sussex with access to safe garden.
We can’t quite believe what a happy outcome from this ordeal.
We think THIS is a real early Christmas Fairytale Story….
Thank you so much to the wonderful cat lovers who have rescued these kitties and given them a forever home, and to all of you who have shared and registered your interest to foster or adopt older cats that come to us for premature euthanasia.
THANK YOU WONDERFUL ANIMAL LOVING COMMUNITY 🐾😻
The Vets2Home Team❤️🐾

13/11/24 HAPPY UPDATE!! See today’s post!

URGENT! MONTY & DELPHI (both age 15) ARE STILL !!!NO LONGER!!! LOOKING FOR A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!🐾

5/11 UPDATE UPDATE!!!🐾🐾
THANK YOU for all your help and interest in helping Monty & Delphi.
Looks like we MAY have found a loving home for these lovely elderly kitties🤞😻🤞. More soon.

Please 🐾 Keep registering with us on ([email protected]) for any future long-term fostering/adoption as sadly we get these occasionally.

Our wonderful senior vet, Dr Jo, was last week called out to euthanise these two lovely elderly kitties, Monty & Delphi, who have lived together all their lives and have a very close bond. When he arrived he was surprised to see two healthy & lively elderly cats, definitely not two cats at the end of their lives!
Sadly, the elderly owner, who has had the cats for their whole lives, simply couldn’t cope with them any more and had exaggerated their ‘poor health’ and age related ailments to justify them needing to be euthanised! Very, very sad.

As they were both curiously circling around his legs for attention, esp Monty being very cuddly and sweet, Dr Jo very soon realised there was no way he would be able to carry out what the owner had asked for… so he asked the elderly owner, if she’d be willing to give them up for long-term fostering, if there was a chance an animal lover with a ‘heart and a house’, would be able to give them a loving home with outdoor access and lots of TLC for whatever time they have left?
Her reply was: ‘Yes, but who would possibly want these two old cats?’…. 🤞🐾

So Dr Jo ended up walking out with these two sweeties in two carrier boxes instead of putting them to sleep – these two little darlings do not know how close they came to an untimely end!
Monty & Delphi are now residing in Dr Jo’s unheated garden shed waiting for someone to step in and save them…. They both had vet check & blood tests last week (including a thyroid check) and have been given the all clear. For their age they are remarkably healthy.

More info:
These two 🐾 are used to having access to the outdoors; Monty loves human attention and life as a predominantly indoor cuddly cat (with the occasional leg stretch in the garden!), while shy Delphi is clearly more independent and prefers the outdoors.

With this rather urgent situation, Vets2Home are proud to kick start and announce our brand new up-start & collaboration with ‘The Angel Fund’ (in Sussex) and new UK charity, ‘Oasis’ (in Portugal), a new charity run by Dr Andrea Wraith, who have a sanctuary in Portugal for elderly, unwanted or abandoned animals there.

Vets2Home will on behalf of every animal we help, support ‘The Angel Fund’ & also Oasis to help re-home unwanted, abandoned or homeless senior cats (12+) who are given up by their owners when they themselves perhaps are forced into the care system or hospitalised or when, for various reasons, they are no longer able to look after their elderly kitties (like Monty & Delphi).

Elderly cats, that if they went into the mainstream large charity centre re-homing system would most likely end up stuck in cages forever or worse, needlessly be put to sleep, much too soon because they cannot be found a new loving home.

To support this much needed work of finding short-term, long-term or permanent forever foster homes for senior cats (12+) in Sussex, Vets2Home is making a donation of £5 to either ‘The Angel Fund’ or to ‘Oasis’ on behalf of every beautiful animal we help send over the rainbow 🌈.

If you can help re-home or foster Monty & Delphi, or other cats that come to us in this sad way in future, please register your interest by email or text/what’s app us at:

‘The Angel Fund’ & ‘Oasis’ welcomes any small (medium or large!) donation to help support this vital work in Sussex and in Portugal: so please donate today or email us to register your interest in providing a foster or forever home in the UK.

THANK YOU 🐾❤️
