Very satisfying groom today for 19 year old Alfie, whose coat was clogged with old fur. Look how much I got out of him! He was dosed up with gabapentin so that I didn't cause him pain or distress at any time - he was away with the fairies and made me giggle when he slithered off the settee like a puddle afterwards! He also had his evil parrot-beak claws clipped, so that he is more sure on his paws when the meds wear off!! 😂😂😂 Elderly cats are my special interest so it was lovely to restore Alfie to his former smooth self. ❤️

***SUMMER HOLIDAY CLOSURE***

I will be closed for all appointments from Sunday 14th to Sunday 28th July. I have had a very tough year since last summer, and my health isn't great at the moment. This year I'm taking a complete break from work. In addition I will not be responding to any messages sent to my business page.

Thankyou for your understanding! I will be back on Monday 29th July, hopefully fresh and ready to take up my clippers once more! 😀

Hello everyone, just to let you know that I'm not taking any more appointments for July now. I'm having two weeks' holiday as well as seeing lots of cats for returning claw clips and grooms! And I have a (short) waiting list for cancellations 🫣😳

Oh the joys of working for myself!! 😂😂😂 but no, it has been an extremely tough year emotionally and physically, so I'm taking a much needed break.

Lion cut for the lovely Tilly - this went extremely well and I'm very happy with the results! Tilly was mostly cooperative but did of course air her complaints!

Just to add here that Tilly has this done for medical reasons, and I did discuss her condition in detail with the owners before going ahead. A lion cut is not always recommended for a cat because she needs her fur to control her temperature. Tilly is a young indoor cat and this is not her first cut. 😻😻😻

Seriously hurt - chipped but not registered!! Has been taken to Coastway. Needs urgent surgery so if you know anyone whose Bengal is missing please ask them to get in touch.

Cats eh?

Having been told that Jimmy has got to go on renal food, I put an ask out to see what other people feed their cats.

A lovely lady called Jeannette Head offered to give us some renal food for free.

Tonight I gave Jimmy and Whiskers half a can between them, alongside their normal offering of Asda tiger food.
This was to make sure that if they didn't like it they could still eat something, and I didn't mix it up to make sure I knew which they ate. Renal food is supposed to be very bland and unappetising, so I am going to introduce it slowly.

Both cats went straight for the new food, gobbled it straight down and licked the bowl, and then ate a little bit of the Asda food!!!! 🤷🏼‍♀️

Let's hope they still like it when it's all they get..... 😂😂😂

Another regular groom for the fabulous Shiro today - we concentrated on his belly mostly but I did use my rounded scissors on his face (which he LOVES) to get rid of all the straggly brown growth! Considering he was in a bad mood he did extremely well. I do love my visits to this boy!! ♥️♥️♥️
