Friends - this is just to let you know that our annual Autumn Fayre is just around the corner. It's our most important fundraiser of the year so please come if you can - and spread the word!

If you would like to donate a raffle prize, cake for our refreshments sale or items for the good as new stall, please message the page. It all helps!

We are advertising the lovely Lady on behalf of the Haverhill branch of Cats Protection - please see contact details for their branch below. Lets see if we can find her the lovely home that she deserves!

This exceptionally lovely little cat is Lady. She has a wonderful disposition, very gentle and affectionate. She seeks out attention and loves lots of fuss. Lady is a year old and came into our care very heavily pregnant. She had a rough time giving birth to her kittens, resulting in an emergency dash to the Vets. Lady has been a great Mum considering the traumatic time she had. She is very petite in stature, and we feel that she will always be a small cat, having had kittens so young, but what she lacks in size, she certainly makes up with her larger than life personality.

Lady requires a home where there is a safe and secure garden away from busy/main roads. A rural setting would be ideal for her. She came from a household with another cat, so there is the possibility that she can be re-homed where there is a resident cat provided that they are introduced appropriately. We are unsure if she will tolerate dogs.

If you feel that you can give this little gem of a cat her forever home please contact us, either by emailing [email protected] or telephoning 01440 535 131.

We rehomed the magnificent Asta, now known as Bertie, recently. As with so many of our cats, he waited very patiently for his forever family but it was certainly worth the wait. Thank you to his wonderful CP fosterer and, of course, to his lovely new family.

Please help us to keep on caring. Every little really does help:

We rehomed Daisy earlier this year. As is often the way, sadly, she had to wait a long time for her forever family to find her - but find her they did and you can almost feel her contentment. Thank you to her Cats Protection fosterer who worked so hard to find her a perfect home - and thank you of course to her fab forever family.

As you may have noticed, it rained quite a lot at the weekend:-( but our intrepid fundraising team were undaunted and, despite difficult circumstances and getting completely drenched, still managed to raise £177.64 at the Stowmarket Food and Drink Festival!

Huge thanks to all of those involved in organising our presence and manning the stall! And if you couldn't make it but would like to support our work, it's easy! https://www.cats.org.uk/donate?b=76

Friends - does anyone recognise this cat? He's a young, unneutered male and is very friendly. He's wearing an orange collar but is not microchipped. He is regularly visiting a garden and house on the Westley estate/Newmarket Road area. The family who live there are feeding him because he seems very hungry but they are trying very hard to find out whether he actually has an owner. If you have any information or recognise him, please call Jane on 07762177092. Thank you!

Friends - Lara and Larry (ginger and white) are still waiting for their forever family. Please help us to find them by sharing this post! Further info below!

Pretty Lara (left) and Larry had a tough start but are now doing very well. They love fuss and attention and spend lots of time playing with their toys. We want to home them as a pair as they're closely bonded. They would like a home with older children (10+) or with adults. Once they're able to go outside they will need catflap access so they can explore the outside world but be away from busy roads.

If you would like know more about them, please call us on 01284 850887. Leave a message if we can't answer straightaway - we're volunteers and will call you back.
Please, please, please share this post and help us get these cuties into their forever homes asap:-)
Thank you!

We take a great deal of care to find the right home for our cats and love to hear how they're getting on with their new family. We rehomed the lovely Toffee last year and the message we've received below suggests it's been a match made in heaven! Thank you very much to her new forever family:-)

I just wanted to let you know how brilliantly Toffee has settled in here. She’s become a much loved part of the family and she’s especially taken to one of the boys. Both boys have grown to love her a lot. Thanks again for introducing us to her, it couldn’t have worked out better.

These lovely kittens had a tough start in life but are doing very well now. They love fuss and attention and spend lots of time playing with their toys. We want to home them in two pairs as they are closely bonded. They would like a home with older children (10+) or an adult-only home. Once they are able to go outside they will need catflap access to their home and to be away from busy roads. If you would like know more about them, please call 01284 850887. Friends - you can make a donation to us every time you shop online without it costing you a penny! We're a small band of volunteers doing vital work to help cats in need but we can't hold many fundraising events as we're such a small team. This makes tools like easyfundraising really helpful! Please check out the link - there's a short video that explains it - and sign up to support our branch. Every little really helps! Thank you!

Fundraiser alert!!!

We'll be at the table top sale at Creeting St Mary Village Hall, All Saints Road, from 2.00-5.00 pm on Saturday 15 June. Some nice things to buy and, of course, our legendary tombola!

As our costs go up, we're in real need of funds to carry on caring for cats in need so please come and support us if you can! Thank you!

Friends - can you help us to find a new home for Asta? He's a large handsome boy and about 2 years old. Sadly, he had to move several times with his previous owner and she was unable to take him with her the last time she had to move.

He's an affectionate boy who loves fuss and attention and is growing in confidence. He loves to jump onto his fosterer's lap and loves having his coat brushed too.

We're looking for a quiet home with patient owners where he can continue to grow in confidence. He doesn't like dogs and would be best suited to an adult only home or one with older children (10 yrs+). As with all our cats we like them to have cat flap access into the house and be away from busy roads.

Please SHARE this post and, if you'd like to know more about him, call 01284 850887. Leave a message if we can't take your call immediately (we're all volunteers).

Thank you!

A big shout out to the Co-op in Thurston which recently hosted a tombola donations trolley for us. Our tombolas are always popular at our fundraisers so we need lots of prizes! Thank you to everyone who dropped a prize or two into the trolley and to the Co-op team who added some fab Co-op products!

Stay tuned for our next fundraiser for a chance to win them - or support us in another way by checking out the options on this link:-) https://www.cats.org.uk/bury-st-edmunds

Yesterday we held an afternoon tea for our volunteers and members in at the Wesley Chapel in Elmswell. We were delighted that so many were able to join us for what was a lovely occasion - with lots of stories about the cats we've shared our lives with. Lots of delicious home-made cakes too! Even better, we even managed to raise £332 to support our work.

Thank you to all our members and volunteers - we really couldn't do it without you. If you'd like to join us, we'd love it:-) https://www.cats.org.uk/bury-st-edmunds -membership

It takes a very special person to volunteer for a charity - and it takes an even more special person to support that charity with dedication and commitment for 25+ years! Three of our volunteers have just reached this amazing milestone so we had a little gathering this weekend to present them with their Cats Protection Volunteer Stars Awards.

A huge thank you to Rosemary, Sue and Maree for all they have done to help cats in need during this time. I don't know about Stars - they're actually absolute Superstars:-)
