Maui Humane Society is expecting an inundation of hundreds of animals who have been burned, lost during the evacuation process and those in need of critical care due to smoke inhalation. Maui Humane Society is asking for help as the island grapples with the unprecedented and catastrophic impact of the ongoing Maui fires. The fires have left thousands of both humans and animals displaced, causing immense distress and creating an urgent need for solidarity within the community.
Funds will allow us to perform lifesaving medical procedures and purchase supplies for families that have lost everything, so they can keep their animals with them.

The Dog Lovers Guide to Having ‘Your Dog at Your Wedding’

They say that a persons best friend is their dog and as 34% of UK adults have a dog, I think this must be true.
So if you’re planning your big day, why wouldn’t you have your four legged best friend with you?

We are great dog lovers in our house and Dolly & Burt were with us on our wedding day, it was a no brainier and really was the deciding factor on where we held our day.

So here are some things to consider if you want to have your dog at your wedding.

1. Make sure your venue is dog friendly. If they say they are, check where in the venue is classed as dog friendly. Is it just the grounds or is it everywhere. Some venues are vague about this, but get confirmation before booking so that you know what you can and cannot do.
2. As soon as you know that your dog can be with you on your wedding day, find a trusted dog chaperone. This can either be your dog walker or a pet chaperone professional. Either way make sure that they are suitably insured to do this role, that they know or have met your dog several times and that you have discussed what you envisage your dog’s involvement for the day is.

For all my local friends and their dogs, here is an announcement regarding a firework display in May 🐶

If you own a pet and live in or near Wrexham city centre, we want to let you know about a fireworks finale that will take place as part of an exciting Coronation weekend concert at the Memorial Hall on Sunday, May 7, when The D-Day Darlings will perform a sensational song and dance extravaganza for all ages to enjoy (tickets available from Ty Pawb reception – phone 01978 292144). The concert starts at 7pm and we expect the firework display to take place later in the evening.

It promises to be a wonderful event, but we know that fireworks can upset and frighten some cats, dogs and other pets, and so we want to give pet-owners plenty of notice.

Such a very sad day for Paul’s family & friends and his adored animals of which he had many! He was a staunch advocate for Battersea Dogs home and like so many I loved his programmes. Do you remember him bringing Blind Date back to life and blankety blank!!
