Rabbit owners, here’s your reminder to make sure your buns are vaccinated 💉

Vaccinating your rabbits is a critical step in ensuring their health and longevity, preventing the spread of serious diseases, such as RVHD and Myxomatosis.

By taking this preventive measure, you are protecting your pets rabbits and contributing to the overall health of the rabbit community 🐇⛑

Remember, the only way to protect your rabbits is to vaccinate them every 12 months!

🚨 Attention Rabbit Owners 🚨

Did you know that rabbits are highly susceptible to heatstroke? 🐰🌡️ Unlike humans, rabbits can't sweat to cool down and are vulnerable to high temperatures. If temperatures rise above 25°C (77°F), they could be at risk! 🥵

Signs of Heat Stroke::

Lethargy
Heavy panting
Wetness around the nose
Confusion

Prevention Tips:

Keep them in a cool, shaded area.
Provide plenty of fresh water.
Use frozen water bottles.
Avoid direct sunlight.

If it's too hot for you, it's too hot for your pet! Make sure they have plenty of shade & water and don't walk your dog in the sun. And don't leave them in a car for any amount of time.

If you're looking to bond your bunnies, here are some tips to help you out💚🐰:

1. Make sure your rabbits' living spaces are close to each other, with plenty of hiding spots for privacy.

2. Help them get used to each other's scents by swapping some hay or a towel with their scent.

3. When they're ready, let them hang out together for short periods in a neutral area.

Keep an eye on them, and don't worry if they chase or nip a little. If things get too intense, separate them and try again later.

Happy Day Four of Rabbit Awareness Week 2024! 🐰

Today, we’re diving into how you can create a thriving environment for your fluffy friends with the right nutrition. Let’s hop right into making mealtime both delicious and exciting for your bunnies! 🏡

Bunnies are curious creatures and love to explore new enrichment in their area, especially if they can eat it too!! It’s so easy and quick to make simple enrichment for them. Old cardboard boxes and kitchen roll tubes can be turned into fun toys when stuffed with tasty hay or grass! Apple branches are great fun to chew as well.

RCVS Practice Standards Scheme

Last week , after a lots of hard work and preparation by the whole Pet Doctors team, we passed our Practice Standards Scheme inspections with flying colours. The RCVS Practice Standards Scheme (PSS) is a voluntary initiative to accredit veterinary practices in the UK. Around two-thirds of UK practices are part of the Scheme, which aims to promote and maintain the highest standards of veterinary care. We are all very pleased and proud of our achievement!
