It has been terribly hard to lose another choccy girl so soon after Skadi, but a few weeks ago, Freya the loveable Lab joined her sisters Lily and Lucy at Rainbow Bridge. Freya was so full of character and provided many laughs over the years; from plonking herself in any water she could find and wallowing to her heart's content, to bopping you with her paw if you dared stop her belly rubs. Most of the time spent in her garden was with Freya upside down! Always a big foodie, Freya loved a treat from her biscuit jar at the end of visits...so much so that I did almost lose my fingers a few times 😂. Although in the past year Freya hadn't joined many walks as age was creeping up on her, she was loved by lots of the gang when she used to come on group adventures, but she did have a tendency to disappear for little periods of time (I think illicit snacking may have been involved!), though she'd always return with a big grin on her face! She will be very sorely missed but there is some comfort that her sisters are now reunited with their cuddly and calming chocolate teddybear 🐻. Sleep well, Freya ❤️.

These are always the saddest posts to write, but last week our darling Skadi went to sleep for the final time with a tummy full of chocolate cupcakes (I couldn't think of a more fitting way for this fan of forbidden foods to go!). When Skadi joined the group early last year she fitted seamlessly in with the other dogs and whilst a lover of a bit of 'independent exploring', she'd always come back for a treat eventually. It was often a surprise to see what she had chosen to 'borrow' from the kitchen sides/cupboards/bin when I arrived for her walks but her innocent little face meant she got away with it! The dogs and I will miss Skadi and her happy-go-lucky demeanor immensely.
Rest well Ska. Enjoy your heavenly paddleboarding adventures and beach trips and all the contraband treats you can find ❤️

Asked the girls if they were enjoying their wet and windy walk. The answer was a resounding no! Even the usually smiley boys weren't impressed. Thankfully the rain at least had stopped before the grumpy little part-time co-worker showed her face otherwise I'd have been in real trouble!

Gosh, what a busy week last week was! 23 doggies walked or visited plus one grumpy little deputy who was no help whatsoever 😂. Sorry to those who I didn't get photos of, we were most likely getting soaked at that point 🙄!

Our new doggies are settling in well and have made lots of friends 🐶. It's also been lovely to see some faces I've not seen in a while, or ones I don't see very often! Finally, we welcomed Bryn to the gang a few weeks back. Great to have you on board!

With navigating the hot weather and going on holiday, we're a bit behind with a photo update of the pups! So here is plenty! We've also had the pleasure of welcoming little Dougie this week who has settled in well with his new group of friends, and have had sweet oap Bonnie joining us for an ad hoc walkie. It's always nice to meet new faces!

With a very sad goodbye, does come a very cute hello, in the form of (not so little), Olive 🫒. Before she gained her wings, Poppy welcomed a baby sister to the family and Olive has slowly been introduced to the team over the past few months. She's been fitting in very well and loves to get stuck in!
This month we've also said hi to Fleur 🌸 who is getting on great too and is enjoying meeting new friends 😊.
There are a few spaces for group walks or pop ins as we head into September, if anyone hears of someone in need of a dog walker!

Just over two weeks ago we lost a very precious member of the team; the one and only Princess Pops. Whilst this news was not totally out of the blue, it has been an immensely sad time as Poppy really was a huge character who I had known for nearly 6 years. A total diva, Poppy was often on her own agenda during walkies, but she would always catch up in her own time! A huge fan of rolling wherever took her fancy (including once in the middle of the road!) and paddling in little streams. Whilst Pops didn't suffer fools gladly and would always keep new recruits in line, she was a very liked dog by all the other pups and they had a great deal of respect for her. She made many friends over the years and as she increased in age, they all treated her with the gentleness she deserved. Famous for hosting her legendary paddling pool parties when the weather was too hot for walks, she always welcomed her friends into her garden.... But passers-by were warned a ferocious, floofy guard dog could emerge at any moment 😂. Poppy will be so very sadly missed by all who knew her and we were so lucky to be part of her life. A huge thank you to Poppy's owner, who never once complained when Poppy returned home less-than-white only to be released onto cream carpets! Sleep well, Pops 👑❤️
