Passionate cyclists naturally want to indulge in their hobby together with their favourite 🚴‍♂️ - but it’s important to keep an eye on your four-legged friend! Depending on size, breed, play instinct and age, the dog can either run alongside the bike or should rather be ridden in a basket/trailer.

📋 Checklist before you start running:
✅ Breed: Smaller breeds such as Chihuahuas or Maltese and lumbering dogs such as English Bulldogs should not run longer distances
✅ Health: Can cardiovascular or joint disease be ruled out? 👩‍⚕️
✅ Obedience: The dog should follow every command reliably and not be easily distracted
✅ Leash: Never tie it to the handlebars, but hold it in your hand! Instead of a neck leash, it is better to use a chest harness
✅ Ground: Pay attention to the temperature and condition of the ground and ensure that your dog’s sensitive paws are protected 🐾

It is best to take a trailer or basket with you on longer tours; if the dog is exhausted, injured or very hot, it can recover well there. Have fun on your tours! 🚲 🐕

3) Do not lift cats by the scruff of the neck: This is painful and can lead to bad injuries. 🚫
4) Don’t force them to do anything: The cat resents it and may even lose its trust. Exception: Medical emergencies, because what must be done, must be done! 🚑
5) Don’t scold at different times: The cat can’t link your anger to any action - it’s just unsettled when you get upset. 😾
6) Stay patient: Even cats have a bad day sometimes. Or need time to get used to something. Stay calm! 🧘‍♂️
7) Dipping cats in their urine: Mishaps can happen - please never press the cat into the urine to punish it! 🚫

Get outside! Us humans, we protect ourselves with sun cream, sunglasses and headgear - but what about our four-legged friends? 🤷

The fact is: dogs can also get sunburn, and it’s no less painful than on human skin. The shorter, lighter and less fur, the greater the risk. Redness and severe itching occur - ears, nose, lips and bald patches on the dog’s body are particularly at risk.
This is how you can prevent sunburn on your pet:

2) Avoid blazing sun: Move walks to the morning and evening, make sure there is enough shade and cooling. 💦
2) Proper coat care is crucial: Trimming is not always the solution, as the coat is a natural protection against the sun. ☀️ Many dog breeds have a coat that needs to be professionally brushed or trimmed instead.
3) And yes: applying sun cream also helps! The sun cream should be free from silicone and perfume to prevent allergies. 🧴
