Here Comes a New Challenger is OUT NOW on STREAMING!!

Providing Art Direction alongside Micah Brooks and Doug Hills, I adored working on this project. My most visible work being the bluray case and disc design, plus the various video game arcade machine elements scattered throughout.

Animation and Advertising for Cinema

During my days in cinema, I created this animated ident for UK cinema chain The Light which ran for a short period during their Autumn season.

Animation elements were produced within Adobe Photoshop, and then animated fully in Final Cut Pro, featuring audio mixed in Dolby 5.1 surround sound. Conversion to DCP - a specific digital cinema file format - allowed the video to be played on screen as part of the pre feature advertising reel.

Over the years I have been incredibly lucky to work with Oliver Harper and his various film and YouTube projects.

His YouTube channel is a roaring success with over 230,000 subscribers and I have had the honour of producing his channel artwork since day one. Always creating new and interesting ways to represent the upcoming channel content.

His other projects include action documentary In Search of the Last Action Heroes, charting the growth and evolution of the action film genre, interviewing the likes of martial arts star Scott Adkins, directors Steven E De Souza, and Paul Verhoeven, where I provided a number of visual elements, but also the films music score.

Additional to this, Oliver’s most recent production was a monumental gaming documentary entitled Here Comes a New Challenger - a fascinating tale charting the rise and success of arcade and home gaming megastar Street Fighter 2, for which I designed the BluRay cover art, and a number of visual in-movie elements such as animations and static frames for video overlay.

I won the art competition run by Virgin EMI for the Mike Oldfield album release Return to Ommadawn.

The challenge was for artists across the globe to, within a few days of the albums release date, create artwork inspired by the album, based on a full single play through of the experience.

The deadline was tight, but I pushed onwards and created this digital piece. The imagery conjured by the music filled my head with a sense of adventure in one hand, but sadness in the other. Like a father wishing his son a safe travel as he ventures out to the open seas. The old man left ashore living in his little house by the sea; the son off to explore the world. Stormy seas at the shoreline, calm and peaceful waters on the horizon.

Chappie was a film that had way more heart than I expected it to. You really felt for the robot and his story, growing up much like a child, in a world very dangerous for robots, with humans fearing their newly found independence, some going as far as to hunting them down. Chappie is special, and you root for him from the moment he comes to 'life'.

In 2021 I was approached to provide an English speaking voiceover for an address to the Czech Parliament entitled the Blanicky Manifest.

This was an address to tackle the Covid crisis, and to bring the fears and pleas of the public to the doorstep of the government.
