We had the loving Halli and Minnie in for walks this week both dogs react to passing dogs in different ways.
Halli gets over excited / overall friendly / sub misses (Cockerpoo)
Minnie is showing signs of frustration / fear / herding (border collie)
We used this opportunity to work them on passing each other, looking for more focus on the walkers and remaining in a heel position - this pole work is done to get the dogs thinking and working out how to get their reward.
As always I forgot to film the start of this where they both react much more than they are here! We get to excited to get to work! 🐾
They both smashed the session and we loved every second 🐾

My Dad working Peg in the warm up pen 🐑
He’s never done this before, he done really well! And most of all enjoyed it 👏🏼 🐑
The stick is used as an ‘arm’ extension to help push Peg in the right direction.
Our lovely Becky met the lovely Sasha today 🐾
We done some heel work with Sasha alongside a busy road at distance as Sasha is car reactive and has the tendency to pull on the leash, look at that lovely loose lead walking going on! We think Sasha is going to have so much fun with Becky 😇🥰 🐾
Have a great evening guys!

Hunting the dummies with my Pal Wilson 🕵🏻♀️
There’s something about a spaniel flying in and out of the bushes that just brings me soooo much joy! I think it’s fair to say WE had sooo much fun on our adventures today!
Go Wilson ✌🏼 😍 🐾

Some of Peggy’s sheep work
Longest clip is warming Peggy up in the small pen before she enters the big field, working on some lie downs, steadies and walk ons and most of all just working on getting her in the zone after a long 2 hour drive 🧘♀️
Second clip shows Peggy ‘collecting’ the sheep off a fence, which she originally struggled with when we started training.
🐑
I enjoy every moment we spend in the sheep field, I think maybe even more than she does if that’s possible 😅 I love all animals so it’s an added bonus I get to be sounded by the sheep 🐑
Happy Friday ! Another great week for all those muddy paws 🐾 Have a lovely weekend everyone ⭐️
Been having some great fun over at @dogologytraining for agility 💜 Peggy LIVES for tunnels! Can you tell by her face in the first photo 🤣 that’s what people mean when they talk about crazy collie eyes 🤣
Thank you photos @dogologytraining !
Just some simple heel work, few short bursts of pace changes to see if she keeps her heel 🥰
I once got told Border Collies can’t heel as it’s not in their nature and to never bother trying… 🤣 they absolutely can and they love it!
It takes time and consultancy but when my days start with this it makes me smile for the rest of it ❤️
While walking today we walked past some reactive dogs in a tight space, 3 of them, all barking at us on retractable leads.. (ergh! In my opinion not safe in this case) a big test for Peggy, she done a small bark back but stayed in heel and listened to me, a win for her and me, it’s good to remember these things take time and I’m still on my journey to get Peggy out of her fear of other dogs after being attacked. A year ago should would have been lunging barking, not listening and a total out of control mess even just seeing a dog in the far distance.
These owners always feel the need to say good morning, that’s lovely but pleaseeee focus on your dogs! It’s not rude, just keep walking & training, I used to be one of those people who say ‘morning’ while Peggy was reacting but you’re missing the most crucial point to train your dog! Give them all your focus and things will certainly change for the better ❤️ one day you can say Morning is peace with your dog chilling by your side ✌🏼
Another great walk with Moby!

** Choccy highlight!**
How awesome is Chocs heel work!?
What you might not be able to see so well is the huge family of rats 🐀 having a feast under all the bird feeders, a very distracting obstacle for Chocs!
I’ve left the music off this video (as much as I love adding some tunes!) as I want you to hear how great Chocs owner is being with his commands, he’s only telling Chocs what he wants him to do and Good Boy for rewarding, look how focused Chocs is!
Talking to your dog often causes confusion and can result in unwanted behaviour while training, dogs can hear all tones of emotions in your voice and will react to them, such as frustration, fear, anxiety, anger. Keeping things simple for your dogs will always result in a positive way!
Also having a ‘conversation’ with them can be confusing, especially when training something new!
Simple is king 👑
Well done Chocs owner! 👏🏼
