AMA Dog Rescue is located on the outskirts of Bacau, a safe haven for dogs run by Ana Maria Amarazeanu, Romania can be an extremely harsh place for dogs and the ones in her shelter are certainly very lucky to have a second chance in life. The dogs that Ana has saved come from the rescue missions undertaken from the public shelters sometimes taking the dogs from the next day’s kill list, o

thers are rescued from the streets before the dog catchers take them, and others are saved from the fields, often young or sick dogs that have been dumped and left to die. Coming from a family of animal lovers Ana went on to study Veterinary Nursing and has devoted her life to animal welfare. To date Ana has saved almost 400 dogs and has been arranging international adoptions for the past 7 years, her dogs have been adopted in the UK, Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, Belguim, Holland and also within Romania. Ana currently has over 110 dogs in her care, some are ready for adoption and many others are being nursed back to health. Please have a look, these dogs are so desperate for their own family, they have so much love to give ... could you offer one of them a chance ? Please like and share our page and If you cannot adopt but would like to make a donation to support Ana in the incredible work she is doing for the dogs the paypal is [email protected]
Just £5 will pay for a vaccination and a worming tablet to start a dog on its journey back to health.

What an evening !! 2.5 tonnes of aid was loaded. A real family affair thanks to Angie Barry and her son Simon Watters and daughter Steph Thornborrow also Julie Sims and her son Dave Sims. Most of these items have been handled at least 4 times before today, in picking them up storing them and then preparing them for collection. All the loose items need repacking and sealing, it was so messy this time as a lot of the loose items were wet and rain damaged when we collected them. We sent wet and dry dog food, wet and dry cat food, all the Christmas boxes. Toys, leads and harnesses, crates, beds, food bowls, bedding, puppy pens and even a kennel ! We would also like to send sincere thanks to all of our supporters who kindly send donations towards the costs of the freight transport. You have all been amazing, Thanks so much. We do have a debit balance for the costs but have lots of Christmas stalls booked so am sure we can work this out and clear this amount. The most important thing is the dogs and cats at our Sanctuary are now all sorted with food over the cold winter months. Also in the photos check out Chad the rescue cat who is almost 20 years old he is our donations checker ….. and has 9 years experience of watching what gets loaded on the lorry !! Grateful thanks to the driver Daniel who is simply amazing and has his own rescue dog with his family in Romania. We wish him a safe journey back home.

We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has sponsored a Christmas Goody Bag for the dogs and cats in our shelter. They will all enjoy their tasty treats. Everyone has been so generous and we really appreciate your support. Whilst we send out the essential food it is really lovely for them to have some lovely treats. Everything is now packed up ready for the freight collection tomorrow. We will have lots of photos from Ana at Christmas. Thanks everyone again for your support.

What a busy day! With lots of help we managed to move 2 tonnes of donations from the store and pack it ready for collection this week. We had dog food, cat food, crates, bedding, bowls and collars and leads. Huge Thanks to the Sims family and friends for their help and support it is as ever greatly appreciated. We would like to take this opportunity of wishing Julie Sims a very Happy Birthday, and hope you had a lovely afternoon after the hard work this morning. Our donations checker Chad the cat was out and about looking everything over ! And Angie Barry was on tea duty for all the helpers after recently suffering a fracture to her foot.

We are so pleased for Mouse, today she went to her new home. Thank You so much Judith Cope-Faulkner for offering her such a lovely home. We just know she will be very much loved and get the individual attention she so loves. Grateful Thanks to Angie Barry and Julie Sims for arranging the transport and looking after Mouse. She looks a little confused bless her, and it is such a big change but we are sure with all the love and attention, she will soon settle down and relax and love her new family and home.

*** UPDATE THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SHARES AND COMMENTS. WE NOW HAVE A HOME FOR MOUSE**** we urgently need to find a new home for Mouse as sadly her adopter has died. Mouse is about 5 years old and once she gets to know you is really friendly and playful. Mouse got on great with all the other dogs except one other female dog and the feeling was quite mutual ! Mouse is not cat tested, and she needs a home with no young children due to past experiences. If you are able to help please do contact us, and please do give Mouse a share …. We would really love to see her in a new home.

We urgently need to find a new home for Lizzie, as sadly her adopter has died. Lizzie is about 5 years old and a cross breed but has some German Shepherd in the mix. Lizzie is a bouncy friendly girl and gets on with most dogs ( just one female dog in the past she didn’t like and the feeling was mutual !). We need someone who can work with Lizzie as she has been allowed to run free and doesn’t like her harness. Her adopter had a large garden and grounds so she had plenty of freedom. Lizzie is very bright, and quick to learn and just loves attention, both from other dogs and humans. She is not cat tested and not used to small children. Lizzie is nuetered and up to date with her vaccinations. Currently in Hertford, we really need a home as soon as possible as her kennel buddy goes to his new home this weekend. Lizzie has an old injury to one of her ears where the tag was removed when she left Romania a few years ago. If you cannot help , please give Lizzie a share. We would love to get her back into a home. Thank You.
