Considering using a dog walker?

We have been providing a dedicated, professional and reliable dog walking service for 6 years and still have many clients who have been with us from the beginning. Fully insured and all dogs are safely transported.
I currently have space to join my small group walks with a maximum of 4 dogs.
We currently have availability on;
Tuesday morning, collection between 10 - 10.30 am
Monday, Thursday and Friday mornings collection between 8.15 - 8.45
Covering Colyton, Colyford, Seaton, Axmouth. Please enquire regarding areas within 3 miles of Colyton.

We walk dogs for many reasons;
Our client is away from home due to work or other commitments and is unable to walk their dog
Some clients for various reason want their dog to maybe enjoy a different, more adventurous or longer walk than they are able to provide or to enjoy the company of other dogs.
Due to busy lives some clients enjoy some dog walking free days
Whatever you reason we can help please contact Sarah on 07599206640 or message through the page, look forward to hearing from you 🐾

I have personal experience of being with Gareth while a dear friend's dog was euthanased. I know that death is not a subject that many of us like to talk about but we owe it to our animals to be courageous enough to make that difficult decision on their behalf when the time comes. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Gareth, he is professional, calm, understanding, knowledgeable and the welfare of any animal will always be paramount. I am an advocate for pets to be peacefully put to sleep in their own surroundings whenever possible. If you are lucky enough to live in a multi dog/cat household allowing the remaining animals the time to see the body of the deceased pet can really help them to process and understand what has happened to their friend and will help them to adjust with much less stress and anxiety, as opposed to their friend being taken away and then seemingly just never coming back. In my experience, allowing children, who will have undoubtedly played a huge part in their pet's life to be part of their pets passing can also be really beneficial to their understanding and grieving process too.

Hello, I’m Gareth, a vet with nearly 20 years of experience, living and working in East Devon for the past eight years. You might have met me at one of the local practices working as a locum vet.

I understand how difficult it is when it’s time to say goodbye to a beloved pet. From my experience, I know that being at home, in a familiar and comforting environment, can make this moment a little easier for both you and your pet. That’s why I started Gentle Goodbye Vets, a home euthanasia service for cats, dogs, and other pets.

Your regular vet may offer home euthanasia services, if they are unable to, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I can come to your home to peacefully and gently put your pet to sleep, and if needed, I can also arrange aftercare, including returning your pet’s ashes to you following an individual cremation.

If you think you might need this service now or in the future, please like and follow my page. For more information and contact details, visit www.gentlegoodbyevets.co.uk.

These two 🥰 Such fabulous running buddies, even if they do get distracted by the local wildlife occasionally! Albert is going to be 12 in September and has been running with me for 10 years on and off. He's still as fit as a flea and in his mind being my running buddy is his purpose in life. Puffin is still learning the ropes but is a natural canicross dog as he loves to pull!! 🏃🏼‍♀️🐾

⚠️ Did you know that adders are the only snake that live in the UK?

🥱 As the weather is (slowly...) warming up, they are beginning to come out of hibernation.

☀️ They can be seen basking in the sun on rocks, logs, in long grass, and in the common growth.

🐍 They do not mean any harm to anyone, but they will bite if stood on or messed with.

🚨 Adder bites can be fatal to dogs, especially if they are bitten on the muzzle.

⏰ Signs of an adder bite usually appear within 2 hours, and symptoms can include: local swelling, pain, bleeding, and lameness.

🐾 If a bite from an adder is suspected you should pick your dog up and carry them, as this helps to prevent the venom circulating their blood system as quickly.

‼️ If left untreated, dogs may collapse, have blood clotting problems, tremors or convulsions - adder bites can sometimes be fatal.

💧 If possible, use cold water at the site of the bite to help minimise swelling.

☎️ You must call your vet IMMEDIATELY.

💡 Please be aware that adders are protected by the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981; this means it is an offence to injure, kill, or harm them.

Why Happy Tails?

The idea of Happy Tails was born during a camping holiday on The Gower Peninsula in Wales.

Sarah and Canny have been friends since 2011 and both share a love of animals. Their own dogs enjoyed the comforts of being home boarded during that holiday. They have personally experienced the challenges of leaving a dog and going away without them, and have also experienced the challenge of finding the right people to care for them, hence the idea of Happy Tails Home Boarding!

Canny has cared for dogs for over 30 years and has a particular passion for sighthounds. Previously having volunteered for 10 years with Forever Hounds Trust, formally Greyhound Rescue West of England, Canny has helped to rescue, rehabilitate and find forever homes for many greyhounds and lurchers across the South West. Currently Canny enjoys the company of Albert the Whippet her running companion and hot water bottle (!) and Minnie a retired ex racing greyhound from Ireland who now enjoying her twilight year can often be found stretched out and snoozing the length of the sofa!

Sarah has always loved dogs and rehomed Leo, a young lurcher, from a local dog rescue in January 2017. Sarah has worked within Sales, Management and Training and more recently has enjoy a role supporting small business.
