Clever clogs canine training

Here are my thoughts on training: Do we spend too much time training our dogs? Should we give them more choice? The simple answer: I don’t believe you can train your dog too much. Training facilitates communication, and the more we can communicate with our dogs, the more we live in harmony together. It builds teamwork, helping our dogs understand us better, which strengthens our relationship. My dog and I are a team. While I do give them choices—like deciding which walks to go on or which direction to head—there are times when it’s not appropriate for them to make choices. In a busy town centre, for example, it’s not ideal for them to jump up at a bakery stall or run into the road as a lorry passes. Training ensures they know how to behave in these situations, keeping them safe and allowing them to enjoy the experiences we share. It’s all about balance. But remember, when I refer to balance, I in no way mean the acceptance of balance training methods. Poor baby has been spayed today. She coped so well and The vets place were amazing with her! It’s a weird feeling having a slow moving cocker around the house sure that will all change tomorrow and I’ll be having to enforce slow movements!
