Bunny Burrows Rescue - UK Bunny Burrows is a small animal charity based in Richmond, North Yorkshire. Bunny Burrows was founded in 1996 by Gwen Butler and her late husband John.

We mainly focus on rabbits, guinea pigs and tortoises with on going health issues. Fundraising

Our fundraising methods have changed over the last few months due to COVID 19. No longer will you find us with our tombola drum and bags of mystery prizes; everything is now online. In addition to selling on eBay (https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/bunnyburrows/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=&rt=nc&_dmd=2)

Trigger Warnjng - post includes post surgery pictures don’t look past picture 2 if you have a sensitive stomach

Poor Bobbin has needed major surgery today. Over the weekend he developed a massive dental abscess, going from his back teeth right underneath his jaw. It was amazing that he was still managing to eat.

It’s been a massive under taking by our vets and he did give them several scares while he was under the anaesthetic but he has made it home albeit with a drainage tube! He’s now back with Rhapsody and under the watchful eye of Nanny Gwen.

Happy New Year. Though it’s just an ordinary Wednesday here; no all night parties; no hangovers. Volunteers were round bright and early to clean out all the furries.

Nanny Gwen couldn’t keep going with the running of Bunny Burrows without her trusted team of volunteers that keep everything running behind the scenes.

Here’s to another year of Bunny Burrows and our 29th at that!

Many thanks to all our supporters and volunteers. Happy New Year x

In the blink of an eye it’s Christmas again. I still have presents to wrap (nothing unusual there) and I had to give up on writing Christmas cards. I send my apologies to those who were expecting a card but not received one. Time got the better of me!

This year I have made the decision to stop the re-homing aspect of Bunny Burrows. It’s not been an easy decision to make and I will still consider taking in small furries (and shellies) on a case by case basis. Of course this does not include wild rabbits, which still remain my passion.

This year seems to have been none stop wildies, and for the first time since starting Bunny Burrows I have a black wildy; Beebop. However Beebop imprinted on me and is now happily living with two others in the garage. He loves to cause a fuss and be the centre of attention. Along with Beebop two other wildies have made Bunny Burrows their home this year. Twenty wildies were successfully released back into the wild.

Harriet still makes her presence known, if it’s quiet I know to look for her! A few months ago she gave me a scare and I thought that I was going to lose her. A lot of team work between myself, our current vets, and our retired specialist, and she’s back to her mischievous self. I can’t thank Trudi and Vets for Pets Catterick Garrison enough.

Thank you everyone for your donations over the last 12 months. Bunny Burrows would not be here today without your support. Thank you to everyone who sends us items to sell (auction, eBay, facebook, music magpie etc). The sale of these items and the gift aid on top provided the bulk of our income. If you have items you want to sent to a charity shop please think of us. We take and sell anything!

That’s enough rambling from me. All that’s left to say is Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Gwen x

Thank you for our very generous Christmas parcel. We know it’s still a few days until Christmas but we thought we would spread some of it out for the furries to enjoy.
