Greeting visitors as described in my new book Pupology. Excitement changed to calm manners. Did this take hours? No! Once an owner learns how to communicate the dog way, the dog understands what is wanted. I teach three kinds of recall at Take The Lead Dogs - informal, formal and whistle. Why, because different situations require different recalls. If your dog's brain energy is low, an informal will suffice, but as it increases, you will find you need a more formal "Come". The whistle is for when these first two arent working because your dog's brain is very excited! #dogbehaviourist #recalltraining

At your wits end?

Tried everything and still can’t sort your dogs behavioural issues? Here at Take The Lead I teach you how to sort common behavioural problems by showing you how to interact with your dog in a way he understands, in other words, to 'talk dog'. Dogs don’t speak English, they communicate through body language, amongst other things. Once you learn how to effectively let your dog know what you want him to do in different situations, behavioural issue become relatively easy to sort. Lead pulling, poor recall, destructiveness, aggression, excess barking, I can help with all these things and more. Just like people, every dog is different, so it is important for me to assess your dog (and you!) and come up with a tailored lesson plan to deal with his issues. You will receive helpful information sheets after each session and I am always there for futher advice at the end of the phone.
