🌸💕 Maisie 💕🌸

This is Maisie, and it’s fair to say that we absolutely adore this sweet young girl. She is only 1 year old and in her short life has lived as a stray, having given birth to her little kittens outdoors with no shelter or care. 💔 Despite this horrendous ordeal at such a young age, Maisie is the sweetest most gentle girl and we are so proud of her.
Maisie was placed in a foster home along with her kittens where she received shelter and most importantly lots of TLC. She relaxed and thrived. Her kittens Huey, Louie and Dewy have all gone on to wonderful homes.

Maisie is now ready to find her dream home and we really don’t think she will be waiting long as everyone who meets Maisie falls in love with her🥰 Not only does Maisie have the perfect sweet gentle and confident personality, she is also a glamour puss…..look at those fabulous long white whiskers! 💖

If you would like to adopt Maisie, please submit your application via our website https://warringtonanimalwelfare.org.uk/maisie-3

🤎ZOE🤎

Hello my name is Zoe and I am 5 years old. I am extremely sad as my beloved owner passed away recently and I have found myself alone and bewildered.

Fortunately I am in the care of Warrington Animal Welfare who have been really kind in helping me settle into the cattery environment. If I am honest, initially I wasn’t too keen, however, I now feel a little more settled and at home here as they give me lots of fuss and attention.

I would really like someone to offer me a home as an only cat. I’ve never lived with other animals and quite frankly, I like all the attention for myself. I am a good clean girl who likes to go out and about, but what I like more than anything is my home comforts and someone to give me a fuss, when required. I do still have some kitten like tendencies and quite like playtime with my human.

If you would like to offer me a 5* home, please submit an application via the website https://warringtonanimalwelfare.org.uk/zoe-0

🌟🐾Alpo is a sweet and spirited 13-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier X with a heart full of love and a personality as big as his name🐾🌟

Despite a tough past, this charming senior is eager to find his forever home where he can enjoy his golden years surrounded by warmth and care.

Alpo is dog-friendly, having lived peacefully with another dog and enjoying the company of new furry friends.

He’s great with children, though he can be a bit bouncy with excitement.😃

He is gentle and loving and thrives on affection and attention.

Alpo loves his walks, handles the lead well, and is eager to explore, although his nose sometimes leads the way!

While he’s lived in an outbuilding, he appears house-trained and ready to transition to indoor life.

He also enjoys car rides, although he might vocalise his excitement along the journey.

Alpo adores toys - especially chewing them to bits! He settles well when left alone, though he might whine briefly before relaxing.

This playful senior still has a zest for life and a big heart to match.

Alpo is looking for a patient, loving home where he can enjoy cuddles, short walks, and a cozy spot to nap. His ideal family will appreciate his playful, loyal nature and provide the care and comfort he deserves.

💖🐾 Piper and Pepper 🐾💙

Piper and Pepper are 20 week old sisters who adore each other 🥰

These wonderful kittens have had quite a start to life born outside with only their mum to protect them and keep them safe which she did very well, their first few weeks was all about survival.

These little ones are a little more shy and timid however having spent time in a wonderful foster home they soon realised that humans are kind and can be trusted and they formed a really lovely bond with their foster mum. We know that in a kind, loving and patient home Piper and Pepper will continue to blossom.

They enjoy a soft and gentle stroke and fuss and are you best friend if you have tasty treats.

⭐⭐to apply to adopt piper and pepper and give them a 5* home they truly deserve please submit an application via our website https://warringtonanimalwelfare.org.uk/piper-and-pepper

🧡🤎MADDIE 🤎🧡

We would like to introduce you to our little ‘jaffa cake’ Maddie who is now 11 weeks old.

Maddie was bought as a Christmas gift for someone who couldn’t cope with a kitten and sadly she ended up in our care just 2 days after Christmas. On arrival, it was apparent she was only about 7 weeks old…she had been taken away from her mum and siblings at such a young age. Despite this, she has proved to be a very good little girl. She was immediately placed in a loving foster home with other cats and she seems to enjoy feline company. She is extremely confident and sociable with a little touch of typical tortie sass. We love her! 🧡🤎

We are looking for a 5* home for Maddie where someone is mostly at home. She could live with another friendly feline. If you would like to offer loving home, please submit your application via the website https://warringtonanimalwelfare.org.uk/maddie-0

🌍 World Day for Animals in Laboratories 🐾
📅 26 April
📍 MBR Acres, Huntingdon, PE28 2DT

Join in solidarity at MBR Beagles, home to Camp Beagle, the longest-lasting protest camp of its kind. Since June 2021, animal rights activists have maintained a permanent presence outside this facility, which breeds beagles for laboratory research. Their mission is clear: to bring attention to this cruelty and demand the closure of the site.

On World Day for Animals in Laboratories, we unite to honor the innocent animals suffering in labs, and to support the brave activists at Camp Beagle who continue to fight for a kinder future.

📢 Please support this event and spread the word. They need us to give them a voice. 🐕🐾

CONVICTED | Kyle Dorling, aka Kyle Valentine, 27, currently of Harrogate, North Yorkshire, but with links to Norton Lees in Sheffield, and Bexhill, East Sussex – subjected a puppy to a series of brutal attacks over a four-month period, leaving her battered and bleeding.

American bulldog Ivy, just six months old, suffered three broken legs and a fractured jaw and cheekbone after her owner, Dorling, inflicted blunt force trauma on her on numerous occasions between December 2022 and March 2023. He then abandoned her and left the area.

Aside from multiple broken bones, there was scarring on the puppy’s mouth, which looked like it had been tied shut, and the pads on her feet were bloody and raw.

She was also very skinny and unable to walk properly.

Due to the extent of her injuries and poor prognosis, vets made the difficult decision to put Ivy to sleep.

Recorder David Gordon described the case as a ‘prolonged and serious infliction of cruelty,’ and said the puppy had suffered a ‘high level of pain and suffering’ during her short life.

The court heard that a member of the public had spotted the puppy alone in the grounds of a block of flats at Woodland Road in the Norton Lees area of Sheffield on March 25, 2023.

Ivy was taken by the finder to the local authority’s dog warden service where she was cared for and seen by a vet.

The dog was then collected by the RSPCA, who launched an investigation.

Dorling was identified as Ivy’s owner by her microchip.

RSPCA Inspector Jennie Ronksley was told that he had offered the dog to someone else, but they’d said no, and he had then apparently dumped her on the landing and left the property.

Dorling was traced to East Sussex by the RSPCA.

In a phone call with Inspector Ronksley he said that Ivy had gone missing and that he had reported this on a lost and found site. He said he used to crate her while he was at work and that she had a ‘bad leg’ from when she tried to escape.

He was later interviewed in East Sussex and initially denied having ever intentionally harmed Ivy, saying he wasn’t aware she had broken bones and thought they were minor injuries.

The court was told that Dorling had taken Ivy to a vet on January 25, 2023, because she was not bearing weight on her right back leg.

As he was eligible for subsidised treatment, he was told to book radiographs for her at the PDSA but failed to attend the appointment.

Over three weeks later he took Ivy in with similar symptoms, although she now also had swelling on her bottom jaw.

Dorling was told to bring in a urine sample for her as soon as possible, but vets never saw him again.

In her written evidence, the vet who examined Ivy on behalf of the RSPCA said she was underweight and unable to walk normally. There was a marked angular limb deformity on her right front leg and she was completely non-weight bearing on her right back leg. She also had abrasions on multiple pads on all four feet, which were indicative of suspected trauma.

X-rays revealed historic fractures of Ivy’s jaw, both front legs, left back leg and cheekbone. The court was told there was no history of her having been involved in any accident that could have accounted for her injuries and that Dorling was circumstantially implicated in having physically abused her.

Given how the fractures had healed, the vet said Ivy’s prognosis was ‘grave’ and ‘irreparable’. Her right back leg would need to be completely amputated and the changes to her right front leg were so severe that she would never be able to have good enough mobility – if any – especially for a growing, large breed dog. Sadly the decision was made to put her to sleep to prevent further suffering.

In her evidence to the court the vet said: “As veterinary surgeons we are sadly accustomed to seeing fractures and trauma on a regular basis.

“However, what is so utterly devastating in this case is that Ivy had been left with multiple fractures across their body for weeks with very minimal, if any, treatment.

“The pain that Ivy would have been in with one, let alone five, fractures is unfathomable.

“What is also concerning is the markings over the muzzle that indicate forceful restraint with a linear object so tight there had been chronic changes in the skin and fur. The owner claimed this was due to her rubbing her nose on the bars of her crate which is not at all plausible or possible.”

Dorling subsequently admitted causing Ivy’s injuries when he pleaded guilty to two counts of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal and one count of failure to take such steps as were reasonable in all the circumstances to ensure the needs of an animal for which he was responsible.

In mitigation, the court was told Dorling had experienced "a difficult upbringing" and had "poor mental health" which had impacted on his thinking and behaviour and made it difficult for him to control his temper.

Sentencing | 18-month custodial sentence, suspended for two years; three-month curfew; up to 20 days of ‘rehabilitation’; ordered to pay £400 costs and £154 victim surcharge. Disqualified from keeping animals indefinitely but may contest this after 10 years.
