🍂 Wee break in the weather last night….pretty autumnal colours showing now too 🍂

Reminder of the extra precautions we still currently have in place:

🐾 No pups that show any signs of illness should attend the field. Do not put other pups at risk.

🐾 Only pups fully up to date with their Parvo vaccination should attend the field.

If you have a booking but want to cancel or reschedule, or your pup doesn't seem themselves, get in contact and I'll happily reschedule or refund.

Been watching this closely as I know some people rely on the field to excercise their pups away from crowds, etc, and I don’t want to stop that unless absolutely necessary, but extra precautions are needed:

🐾 No pups that show any signs of illness should attend the field. Do not put other pups at risk.

🐾 No young pups or older dogs with weakened immune systems should attend at this time.

🐾 Only pups fully up to date with their Parvo vaccination should attend the field.

🐾 I’ll be spraying the field daily before any bookings take place. Please ensure all dog waste is fully lifted if attending.

I’ll continue to keep an eye on how this progresses and work on the advice of local vets and if necessary will close as a temporary measure. Any updates will be posted here.

This black lab was just running on the B921 kinglassie to Cardenden Road, just ran in front of a lorry and my car just before the turn off heading to balingry. I can’t get a hold of it to get it in the car but it’s safely behind a gate in the field .
Can you please post this so its owners might see please.

Blooms of suspected blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) have been noted at:
- Clatto Reservoir (on the Pilgrim's Way route between Markinch and Ceres)
- Loch Fitty
- Lindores Loch
- Gillingshill Reservoir

Blue-green algae pose risks to public and animal health when they form blooms and scums in freshwater in warm summer months.
In people, exposure to the blue-green algae toxins may cause skin rashes and more severe symptoms if swallowed.

Dogs are also at risk if they drink the water or lick their coats after swimming; exposure may be fatal or lead to severe symptoms requiring very rapid vet treatment.

Please keep yourselves and your dogs away from affected water bodies. Further information and advice can be found at the link below.

We'll update this post when new blooms of suspected blue green algae are found.

Paw balm 🐾
Everyone knows that it’s definitely not a good idea to walk their dogs excessively in heat like this but did you know that the heat and dry pavements also cause paws to become rough, dry and cracked?
Our paw balm is a fabulous and effective natural treatment to moisturise and soothe your best friends pads.
Simply apply once or twice a day to see the benefits. Tolerant doggies might let you massage it in, but for those tricker characters you’ll be pleased to know that our tin is the perfect size to place a whole paw on and rub quickly!

And the grass is cut!!! 😅

No easy feat cutting the field due to the size and gradient, but as usual Dave has worked his magic! 👏🏻

A reminder to anyone using the field that if you’re looking for a neatly mown field, with extras to keep your dog occupied, we’re not the field for you and that’s absolutely fine.

We are all about enrichment for the dogs in as natural a way as possible, by giving them plenty to sniff and explore in a safe and secure environment 🥰

Sometimes the long grass can inconvenience the humans (and swallow up tennis balls!) 🙈 but I know from experience the dogs love it and that’s our focus 🌱🐾
