‼️ Long Lines Safety ‼️

Longlines are a great tool to help you keep your dog safe when used correctly during training. Longlines are great for practicing recall, working with reactive dogs and preventing some unwanted behaviours.

Sadly I often see them used incorrectly and this poses a huge risk to the dog ‼️

Longlines should NEVER be attached to a dogs collar, this creates a high risk of injury to the dog. longlines can become tangled especially if being allowed to trail behind a dog. It’s really scary to think about the damage this could cause if the line was attached to a dogs collar 🥺

I highly advice to ALWAYS use a correctly fitting harness with a longline to reduce the potential risks.

🐾❤️ KIA 💔🌈

Last week we received the devastating news that Kia had passed over rainbow bride 🌈💔

With kind permission from Simon we wanted to dedicate this post to her wonderful life and the memories we shared. Our thoughts are with Simon and family, Bolsover Bark and Ride and everyone that knew kia at this very sad time x

In the golden light of dawn's embrace,
Sweet Kia roamed with boundless grace,
Through forests deep and meadows wide,
A loyal heart, your faithful guide.

With every leap and joyful bark,
You chased the sun, igniting a spark,

Sorry boys no mud monsters allowed 🤣🤣🤣

We now have an on board water tank and dog wash to help clean the little dirt monsters after their walks 😆😊 this is also great for cooling off the dogs in summer and refilling water bowls 🥰

Loving my van set up now with our new heating system to keep the van warm whilst parked up whilst it’s cold, air conditioning for when it’s warm and our new wash system❤️🐾

GROUP WALKS 🐾

One of the most important and challenging aspects of being a dog walker is grouping dogs correctly but it is also one of the most rewarding 🥰

There are so many points to consider when mixing dogs, age, personalities, recall, lead manners, and arrousal, just to name a few. It’s not as simple as just walking a group of dogs and hoping they get along.

One important factor for me, especially for young dogs is to ensure that we aren’t undoing any of the amazing work and training that the owners have put in.
I work hard to ensure dogs socialise correctly and in a positive manner, and that dogs don’t become over aroused in the group situation.

It should always be a positive walk for ALL the dogs in the group.

Today gave me such a buzz seeing my hard work, education and knowledge being rewarded with 2 well matched group walks with a mix of young and older dogs.

I will always prioritise the dogs welfare over having a full group 🥰

Dino needed this today, we went and found somewhere that was safe for him to be off lead without the risk of him slipping. He loves running back at me I’m glad he always dodges around me though 🙈🤣. He proper made me laugh on the way home as I finally got caught out and slipped over onto my knees, Dino thought that was an invitation to come and sit on my knee 🤣 I don’t think he realises he isn’t a tiny puppy anymore 😂

Stunning walk with these 3 ❤️🐾 They loved exploring somewhere new 🐾
