Oh boy that was hard.
Canine Care 1993 - 2023
What an incredibly emotional day we had yesterday.
I can honestly say that when I started Canine Care away back in 1993 as a young 20 year old I never in my wildest dreams would have believed what it would turn out to be.
I know I have said it time and time again but I honestly do feel I have been truly blessed. I have never been surer of that than when I closed my doors last night, at the end of my last day of Canine Care. With tears streaming down my face I left with not one car packed full of gifts but two.
The exceptional kindness that has been showered upon not just me but all of my wee team over the last few weeks will stay with us forever.
We all have so many amazing memories and although our hearts are so heavy today we all also have exciting times ahead.
It's a new beginning for all of us and although today I feel like I've been hit by a bus, I know it's just a wave of emotion for the end of my wee business that has been my life for 30 years.
No matter how hard I try I just can't find the words to say just how much Canine Care meant to me. Throughout 30 years I got to meet so many wonderful people and got the honour of grooming thousands of beautiful dogs who have all taught me so much. With every ounce of my being I thank you all for being a special part of 3 decades of my life.
Although I don't remember the first dog I groomed at Canine Care I know for sure I'll never forget my last. What a privilege it was to end my 30 years at work by grooming wee Molly Kerrigan. My last dog to groom at Canine Care was the first dog who stole my heart in Serbia 8 years ago.
Molly is living proof that new chapters happen. Having left behind the harshness of shelter life in Serbia she now lives the dream in Omagh.
If I get half as lucky as Molly in my new chapter from here I'll be more than blessed.
Thank you all once again for everything throughout this past 30 years. It's not goodbye everyone, it's as my
Our last day at Canine Care and already I feel like an emotional mess. I've been so privileged to have done what I done for so long.
Today I'm going to really enjoy my last day working alongside my great wee team and spending it in the great company of another day of lovely dogs and devoted owners.
On top of a full day of appointments our Sadie has decided to roll in fox poo so she can get a final bath at Canine Care too.
Note to Sadie "All rolling is banned from today, career break starts tomorrow."
Sometimes we all just need a big hug. Thanks Willow. There will be more of those needed tomorrow.
Maybe I could take this up if I get bored during my career break. Then again judging by the job I've made this morning on our old boy Sandy maybe not😆
I'll miss these moments.❤️
It's now just 4 weeks today until we close on Friday 9th June and I've got to say we've already had some very emotional moments but through it all we feel forever blessed.
How lucky have we been to have had such a privileged career.
I'm luckier than anyone to have had the honour of working with so many beautiful dogs for almost 30 full years.
There are no goodbyes for us because wherever they are our furry friends will always be in our hearts.

Best of luck everyone and remember winner takes all, but you must be in it to win it.
Finally a huge thank you to everyone who has entered so far. We can't wait to see who will be our lucky winner.
We couldn't help but share the love and show you all this little video taken earlier today.
Many of you, who are in with us regularly, will know our dear friend Jean and what a great love she has for animals.
Jean has been coming into us almost daily for longer than I can remember and although we all love her dearly she makes no bones about it..... it's the dogs she's here to see. As you can see by Joey's excitement the dogs adore her every bit as much as she loves them.
Just beautiful ❤️❤️
Our Nose of Tralee won't have too many admirers today. 😲 The smell!!!!! It's as well we're dog groomers!
Amber says thanks for the bath Shauna now it's time for me to wash YOUR face. 🤣
The inspiring story of our Nose of Tralee made the airwaves this morning on Radio Ulster's John Toal Show. John was rather smitten, a bit like the rest of us.
Sadie says, "If you can share anything share positivity....and treats 😂, treats are always good too!"😉
It's the last Day of Voting and someone has decided that no matter what happens she's just going to roll with it.
Thanks so much for all your Votes for our inspirational Sadie, it really is appreciated so much.

When you're put on a guilt trip and have no option but to share your lunch.
Just look at Sadie, with only one good leg to stand on, she's still determined to live life to the full with her best friend wee Dougal.
It's not about what we don't have in life it's about making the very best of what we've got. A happy heart and a good friend, sure what more is needed.
Today is the last day to vote for Sadie to become this year's Tyrone Nose of Tralee.
With a spirit like that we think she's a winner through and through.
Here's the link to vote. Thanks a million for all the votes so far.

Here's our Sadie this morning, back out enjoying wee danders in the forest.
Three legs and three major surgeries within 18 months and isn't she doing amazing after all she's been through.
Be like Sadie everyone....If you can believe in anyone, believe in yourself.
Day 1 of my Mourne Wall Challenge for Sadie complete and over halfway there. Thank you all so much for the amazing support so far.
