🐴 OP Gallop Engagement 🐴

On Friday the 2nd of May at 12:00pm, PCSO Doar and PC Teasdale will be joined by PC Davis from the Rural crime team at The Lanes Farm and Garden Centre hosting a Community Catch up.

OP Gallop is held for a week, this year being 28th April - 4th May, which is based around Equine Crime and the issues around it. The purpose of Operation Gallop is to:

- Improve collaboration between police forces and partners
- Reduce crime including the theft of horses, trailers, horseboxes and tack
- Address fly grazing and welfare issues
- Encourage property marking
- Improve road safety

We are inviting our rural community to come along and discuss any issues they might be experiencing.

We are looking for a reliable and experienced new team member to join us at Selston Equestrian Centre from the 24th March 2025.

𝐉𝐨𝐛 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬:
• Position: Part-time Yard Staff
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM
• Location: Selston Equestrian Centre

𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬:
• Handling horses and ponies confidently and competently
• Assisting liveries and ensuring their needs are met
• Mucking out, filling hay nets & waters
• Keeping the yard clean, tidy, and well-maintained
• Setting up for shows and events
• Changing rugs, picking out hooves, and turning horses out/in

𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:
• Age 16+ with prior experience working with horses
• Must be extremely reliable, happy to work alongside another staff member and have a strong work ethic
• References will be required
• A trial day will be necessary to assess suitability

- able to occasionally stay away from home with our show unit (approx 3/4 times a year)

You’ll be required to work 5 days a week, which includes alternative weekends and be a key contributor to our team, ensuring that all customer needs are met.

We are hosting a rural community catch up on Sunday 12th January at The Lanes Garden Centre, Risley Lane, Breaston from 1pm.

PCSO Brown and PCSO Doar will be joined by PC Davis from our Rural Crime Team and we are inviting our rural community to come along and discuss any issues they might be experiencing.

We have received concerns around road safety and horse riding, so please share this with friends and family in the equine community, as we are keen to speak about Equine crime and Horse-riding safety on the roads.

PCSO Doar and PCSO Brown, from Ilkeston Police SNT, will be holding a joint engagement on Wednesday 4th December at The Lanes Garden Centre at 2pm to speak with members of the public regarding Equine crime and Horse-riding safety on the roads.

We will be joined by PC Davis who is an officer from our Derbyshire Rural Crime Team After many discussions with people living in our rural areas in Erewash, concerns have been raised with road safety and horse riding, therefore this engagement has been put together for everyone to have the opportunity to speak to us, ask any questions or raise any concerns they have. We look forward to seeing some of you there.

When the “lovely” ladies on the yard, scare the s**t out of you by leaving Mr (Rolf) Fawkes outside the barn with his cup of tea!

Took Reggie out for a wee and thought some random stranger was just sat outside the barn staring at me. Queue me running indoors, locking the door and then zooming in on my camera from the window to see if he was still there 🙈😂
