For anyone who may have been going this weekend…

Chatsworth International Horse Trials cancelled

We are devastated to announce that due to the last 12 hours of heavy rain on site, under instruction from the BE and FEI officials we have been forced to cancel the 2024 Chatsworth International Horse Trials.

We are sorry for the disappointment and inconvenience this will cause. Our team has worked incredibly hard to organise the event, however the decision has been taken to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our athletes, visitors and horses, which is our number one priority.

All ticket holders will be contacted to process a full refund. There is no need to contact us.

We are still looking for a new home for 3 more of our horses.

Trevor below 9yrs 12’3/13h spotted pony perfect lead rein pony.
Amazing in the heaviest of traffic, has had children with disabilities and looked after them impeccably. He has been used off lead in walk and trot and is impeccable.
He absolutely loves to be groomed and fussed and was very popular with our own a pony parties. Anyone looking for a safe pony this pony is perfect. Please pm us for price. 😊

This evening as we were making up our equipment at an incident, when we were hailed to a report of a suspected cardiac arrest in a public house a few hundred meters away from us.

Our crew quickly rushed to the scene and firefighter Joe Harte led our response. Thankfully the Gent was ok and needed only a check up, which meant that Joe and our team didn’t need to use our life saving skills.

Joe. Seen pictured below is an on-call firefighter and helps make up our 22 strong team.

The more eagle eyed of you, may notice that Joe isn’t wearing fire kit and isn’t standing in front of a shiny red fire engine.

Joe, is actually a paramedic in his full time employment and works for us in his spare time. Although Joe is special, he isn’t unique, there are actually a number or paramedics across Nottinghamshire who are also on-call firefighters.

We asked Joe why he does it and he told us “My shift system means that I am often around Stapleford and able to provide fire cover for the service when it’s needed most. I enjoy helping people and mixing my medical skills with my new fire and rescue skills seems to go hand in hand.

I’d highly recommend on-call firefighting to anyone from the town, it might be that your employer can release you from your primary employment every so often. It might be that you have some free time or you might be a Mum or Dad at home during the day, looking for a bit of extra money, while helping others across the community.”

If you haven’t thought about firefighting and want to know if it’s for you. On Saturday 4th March from 10am we are opening our doors for you to “have a go” at some of the skills require to join us.

🐴 We’re on the search for volunteers at our riding school, on weekends and throughout the week in the school holidays!

Whether you already ride with us or not, we welcome reliable and dedicated people who loves horses just as much as we do.

Being involved with horses is without question hard work, but it’s also very rewarding and gives a great feeling of achievement after spending the day caring for these lovely animals.

The minimum age is 13 years old to volunteer with us, a free lunch is provided and a free regular rides where possible at the discretion of the riding management. You will learn all aspects of horse care and stable management.

This is a fantastic opportunity for those who are dedicated, to gain great experience from our well established and knowledgeable team.

Fun ride with distances of 3, 4.5 and 7.5 miles, along with Fancy Dress and Games suitable for all.
Entry Fee
£20 in advance - Includes all activities, a rosette, hot food and drink and a carrot for the pony.
All entrants must be members of either ERA or the BHS.
