TASTER TRAINING
This is a 2 hour course with a focus on different themes where you learn around 35/40 signs and symbols from the Makaton core vocabulary through different games and activities. You receive the training handouts ready for the course and a certificate on completion of it. The price is just £10 and my dates are;

You receive the participants manual ready for the training and a certificate on completion of the course. You must have completed level 1 & 2 to attend the level 3 training. The price is £80.00 and my dates are;

LEVEL 4
This is an 9 hour course run over 3/4 afternoons, 3/4 evenings or a weekend. You learn around 100 signs and symbols from stages 7, 8 and the additional IT concepts of the core vocabulary through different games and activities where you apply what you learn. The presentations focus on developing your understanding of translation and interpretation further and how to use and implement inclusive approaches. You receive the participants manual ready for the training and a certificate on completion of the course. You must have completed levels 1-3 to attend the level 4 training. The price is £80.00 and the next date is;

Tuesday 26th, Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th November 6-9pm

FRONTLINE TRAINING
It is so important that we understand the different ways people communicate and that we can help empower them to be able to communicate about their health, mental wellbeing or if they are in a life-saving or challenging situation.
This is a 3 1/2 hour course which has a focus on either wellbeing or emergency services. On the course you learn a range of Makaton signs and symbols based on every day communication and then on the focus areas of wellbeing or emergency services. You don't just learn the signs and symbols on this training, but you also learn how to embed this vocabulary in everyday situations and high-stress environments. The price is £60 and you receive a certificate on completion of the training. My dates are;

Saturday 28th September (General Wellbeing) 9.30-1.00pm

SAFEGUARDING TRAINING
This is a 16 hour course run over 4 x 4 hour sessions. You learn 300 signs and symbols related to safeguarding which include family, relationships and people, body and clothing, places, feeling, thoughts and behaviours, bullying and abuse and intimate matters. The majority of the signs and symbols taught on this course are not part of the Makaton core vocabulary. They are specialised to relate to safeguarding to help you implement strategies and methods of learning this vocabulary at work or at home and empowering our children and adults by providing them with the language they need to communicate effectively in these situations. You receive the training manual ready for the training and then a certificate on completion of the course. You must have completed level 1 & 2 to attend the safeguarding training. The price is £179 and the next dates are;

Wednesday 2nd, Monday 7th, Tuesday 8th, Monday 14th, Tuesday 15th and Monday 21st October 6-8.30/9.00pm

SAFEGUARDING REFRESHER TRAINING
This is a 2 1/2 hour session where you refresh your knowledge of the Makaton signs and symbols from the safeguarding vocabulary. It is a practical course full of games and activities to help you consolidate your knowledge and ask any questions that you might want to. I will email you the link and training resources the week before the refresher. The price is £15 and the next date is;
Thursday 24th October 6-8.30pm

REFRESHER TRAINING
This is a 2 hour session where you take part in different games and activities to refresh your knowledge of the Makaton you have learned so far in your training. It is suitable for anyone who has attended Makaton training with me, whether it's just level 1 or you have completed all the courses above. It's lots of fun and the price is £15. I also cover different refresher topics too. The dates I have are;

MAKATON CHRISTMAS CRAFTS SESSION
This is a 2 hour session where you will be creating a range of art/crafts based on Makaton signs and symbols. Is is a lovely way to learn and refresh your Christmas signs and symbols and to make some lovely Christmas crafts for your home and friends. The price is £10 and the date is;

Monday 9th December 6-8pm

MONTHLY SINGALONG AND SIGN CHOIR
Every month we sing and sign 2 songs and we learn the signs that go alongside the words and I explain the interpretation used, so you understand the signs we are using and why. It is run on the first Tuesday of the month from 6.00-7.00pm. It is lots of fun and a good way to keep practising your signing. I email you the songs with the lyrics ready for the session and the price is £3. The dates are;

MAKATON STORY TIME (INTERPRETATION)
Each month we take a different story and look at how we can interpret the story using Makaton signs and symbols. It's a lovely way to practice your Makaton signing skills whilst learning how to interpret the language in each story. It is £10 for the session and the dates are;

Monday 4th November 6-8pm (The Tiger Who Came For Dinner)
Monday 2nd December 6-8pm (Christmas story tbc)

MAKATON HANGOUT
This is a 2 hour session based on different themes tailored to what you want to know, learn and revise. You will take part in a range of different games and activities to help underpin your sign and symbol use. It is a fun session designed to help you refresh and revise previously learned signs and symbols, but also to show you signs and symbols that might be relevant to your work and home situations. You need to have done some Makaton training previously, as you will to have knowledge of everyday signs and symbols. It is £10 for the session and my dates are;

Monday 26th August 6-8pm (Back to School)
Tuesday 22nd October 6-8pm (The Weather and Clothing)
Monday 25th November 6-8pm (Christmas)

Hi everyone. I hope you're all well and starting to enjoy the summer holidays.

LET'S GET SPONSORING!!

I'm hoping you guys will be able to help me as I am trying to raise money for my choir Two Hands One Voice, which is an inclusive choir for children and adults with learning and communication needs and/or mental health issues. It is a not for profit choir and we are needing uniforms, music stands, a speaker and head mics as we perform a lot in the local community and these are essential for us to do this effectively.

My husband and myself are taking part in a triathlon (our take on it) and we will be doing a 4K swim, 10K walk and 20K bike ride. We will be exhausted!! Choir, Rock Choir and Children's Sing and Sign

We get together once a month for each of our choir/sing and sign sessions. They are lots of fun and a good way to practice your signing skills. Here are the dates for each session and the price is £3;

STORY INTERPRETATION
Every month, we take a story and look at how we can interpret and translate it in to Makaton signs. It is a good way to practice your interpretation skills and work with others to share your ideas. You also get chance to sign the story in your groups. The price is £10 and the date is;

Hello everyone. I hope you're all well and enjoying the weekend so far ☺️ really hoping the rain stops!!
Here's the list of my Makaton online courses, choirs, hangouts and story sessions up to December 2024. It also includes my Christmas sessions!!

Learning Makaton means you can communicate with other children and adults using their preferred means of communication and that you understand how to create an inclusive society for all xx
Please feel free to share with friends, family and colleagues xx I have also left some free time, so if these dates don't work for you, just let me know and I'll add extra dates x

TASTER TRAINING
This is a 2 hour course with a focus on different themes where you learn around 35/40 signs and symbols from the Makaton core vocabulary through different games and activities. You receive the training handouts ready for the course and a certificate on completion of it. The price is just £10 and my dates are;

Saturday 10th August 9.30-11.30am (Early year theme)
Saturday 28th September 2-4pm (Halloween/Bonfire Night)
Thursday 10th October 6-8pm (Early Years theme)
Thursday 7th November 6-8pm (Christmas theme)
Saturday 9th November 9.30-11.30am (Christmas theme)

LEVEL 1
This is a 7 hour course run over 3 afternoons, 3 evenings or a weekend. You learn around 125 signs and symbols from stages 1, 2 and the additional part A of the core vocabulary through different games and activities where you apply what you learn. There are also presentations to help you develop your understanding of the Makaton Language Programme. You receive the participants manual ready for the training and a certificate on completion of the course. The price is £80.00 and my dates are;

LEVEL 3
This is an 8 hour course run over 3 afternoons, 3 evenings or a weekend. You learn around 100 signs and symbols from stages 5 & 6 of the core vocabulary through different games and activities where you apply what you learn. The presentations focus on developing your understanding of translation and interpretation and signs analysis.
You receive the participants manual ready for the training and a certificate on completion of the course. You must have completed level 1 & 2 to attend the level 3 training. The price is £80.00 and my dates are;

Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st July 9.30-1.30pm
Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th October 9.30-1.30pm
Monday 28th, Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th October 6-8.30pm

LEVEL 4
This is an 9 hour course run over 3/4 afternoons, 3/4 evenings or a weekend. You learn around 100 signs and symbols from stages 7, 8 and the additional IT concepts of the core vocabulary through different games and activities where you apply what you learn. The presentations focus on developing your understanding of translation and interpretation further and how to use and implement inclusive approaches. You receive the participants manual ready for the training and a certificate on completion of the course. You must have completed levels 1-3 to attend the level 4 training. The price is £80.00 and the next date is;

Monday 5th, Tuesday 6th and Friday 9th August 9-12pm
Tuesday 26th, Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th November 6-9pm

FRONTLINE TRAINING
It is so important that we understand the different ways people communicate and that we can help empower them to be able to communicate about their health, mental wellbeing or if they are in a life-saving or challenging situation.
This is a 3 1/2 hour course which has a focus on either wellbeing or emergency services. On the course you learn a range of Makaton signs and symbols based on every day communication and then on the focus areas of wellbeing or emergency services. You don't just learn the signs and symbols on this training, but you also learn how to embed this vocabulary in everyday situations and high-stress environments. The price is £60 and you receive a certificate on completion of the training. My dates are;

Saturday 27th July (Emergency Services) 9.30-1.00pm
Saturday 28th September (General Wellbeing) 9.30-1.00pm

SAFEGUARDING TRAINING
This is a 16 hour course run over 4 x 4 hour sessions. You learn 300 signs and symbols related to safeguarding which include family, relationships and people, body and clothing, places, feeling, thoughts and behaviours, bullying and abuse and intimate matters. The majority of the signs and symbols taught on this course are not part of the Makaton core vocabulary. They are specialised to relate to safeguarding to help you implement strategies and methods of learning this vocabulary at work or at home and empowering our children and adults by providing them with the language they need to communicate effectively in these situations. You receive the training manual ready for the training and then a certificate on completion of the course. You must have completed level 1 & 2 to attend the safeguarding training. The price is £179 and the next dates are;

Wednesday 2nd, Monday 7th, Tuesday 8th, Monday 14th, Tuesday 15th and Monday 21st October 6-8.30/9.00pm

SAFEGUARDING REFRESHER TRAINING
This is a 2 1/2 hour session where you refresh your knowledge of the Makaton signs and symbols from the safeguarding vocabulary. It is a practical course full of games and activities to help you consolidate your knowledge and ask any questions that you might want to. I will email you the link and training resources the week before the refresher. The price is £15 and the next date is;

Thursday 24th October 6-8.30pm

REFRESHER TRAINING
This is a 2 hour session where you take part in different games and activities to refresh your knowledge of the Makaton you have learned so far in your training. It is suitable for anyone who has attended Makaton training with me, whether it's just level 1 or you have completed all the courses above. It's lots of fun and the price is £15. I also cover different refresher topics too. The dates I have are;

Monday 2nd September 6-8pm (Levels Refresher)
Thursday 3rd October 6-8pm (Pronouns and Possessions Refresher)

MAKATON CHRISTMAS CRAFTS SESSION
This is a 2 hour session where you will be creating a range of art/crafts based on Makaton signs and symbols. Is is a lovely way to learn and refresh your Christmas signs and symbols and to make some lovely Christmas crafts for your home and friends. The price is £10 and the date is;

Monday 9th December 6-8pm

MONTHLY SINGALONG AND SIGN CHOIR
Every month we sing and sign 2 songs and we learn the signs that go alongside the words and I explain the interpretation used, so you understand the signs we are using and why. It is run on the first Tuesday of the month from 6.00-7.00pm. It is lots of fun and a good way to keep practising your signing. I email you the songs with the lyrics ready for the session and the price is £3. The dates are;

Every month we sing and sign 2 rock/indie songs and we learn the signs that go alongside the words and I explain the interpretation used, so you understand the signs we are using and why. It is run every month from 6.00-7.00pm. It is lots of fun and a good way to learn different signs. I email you the songs with the lyrics ready for the session and the price is £3. The dates are;

It is run on a Wednesday evening once a month from 6.00-7.00pm. It is lots of fun and a good way to learn different signs. I email you the songs with the lyrics ready for the session and the price is £3. The dates are;

MAKATON STORY TIME (INTERPRETATION)
Each month we take a different story and look at how we can interpret the story using Makaton signs and symbols. It's a lovely way to practice your Makaton signing skills whilst learning how to interpret the language in each story. It is £10 for the session and the dates are;

Monday 4th November 6-8pm (The Tiger Who Came For Dinner)

MAKATON HANGOUT
This is a 2 hour session based on different themes tailored to what you want to know, learn and revise. You will take part in a range of different games and activities to help underpin your sign and symbol use. It is a fun session designed to help you refresh and revise previously learned signs and symbols, but also to show you signs and symbols that might be relevant to your work and home situations. You need to have done some Makaton training previously, as you will to have knowledge of everyday signs and symbols. It is £10 for the session and my dates are;

Monday 22nd July 6-8pm (Trips and Days Out)
Monday 26th August 6-8pm (Back to School)
Tuesday 22nd October 6-8pm (The Weather and Clothing)
Monday 25th November 6-8pm (Christmas)
