I am very sorry, but I am fully booked for the rest of this year and am not able to take any new dog home boarders (I have a waiting list but this is also full - apologies). I am still able to offer some limited dog-walking and cat/small animal care. Thank you.

A huge effort from staff and helpers saw almost everything moved into the new Dunoon practice at 248 Argyll Street in 2 days flat!

The Dunoon practice will remain closed on Monday 10th January to allow us to unpack and organise. Everything won't be completely ready.... there is still some work to be done... but we will open as "normal" from 8.30am on Tuesday 11th January. Until then, for emergencies, please phone 01369 702532, where our answering service will take a message and contact our duty vet.

This picture shows reception and waiting area, with Busy the Spaniel inspecting the new office. We have been in desperate need of new accommodation for several years, and it has been a long road to 248 Argyll Street.

Big thanks are due to ARCHITECO and Cowal Building Supplies (Stewart Shaw Ltd) for architectural and building services, and a special thanks to Keith "Cheesy" Somerville for looking after us and the project so well, from the very first partition going up!

End of an era & a new beginning!

After being based at George Street for the last 43 years, we saw our last appointments out of the carpark this evening and closed up the office for the last time. Over the weekend, we will be MOVING TO OUR NEW SURGERY IN ARGYLL STREET!

We will be running our usual Out of Hours Emergency Service over the weekend, and the office will remain close on Monday to allow the team to set up at our new home, 248 Argyll Street, Dunoon, opening as usual at 8.30am on Tuesday morning.

Directors Duncan, Linda and Catriona would like to thank everyone who has been a part of bringing the practice so far, and especially our fab team based both in Dunoon and Rothesay.

It will take some time to settle into the new surgery, so please remain patient with staff as we find our new stride!

Nollaig Chridheil agus bliadhna mhath ùr dhuibh!

The Team at Bute & Cowal Vets would like to wish those of many legs and none a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year when it comes.

It has been an unbelievably busy year, and our staff will be taking some well deserved time off over the next couple of week. Our own 24 Hour Emergency Service is in operation whenever the offices are closed, as it is 365 days of the year.

Please remember to order and collect your animals' prescriptions in good time so you don't run short of meds. Prescriptions can be ordered by telephoning your usual surgery, or emailing [email protected], with either BUTE or DUNOON in the title.

Have a great time everyone, but please keep the tinsel, mince pies, Christmas cake and chocolate safely out of little paws reach!

It’s our first birthday today! 🥳
Hard to believe we have been in business for a year already, time has flown by.
We started off with solely supplying the equine community and are now catering for every animal on our logo.
We would just like to thank everyone for your continued support, for those of you who don’t know us we will introduce ourselves and most importantly our four legged family in the next few posts.

Good morning everyone!

As some of you may know a small part of the promenade has been cordoned off as there is a seal pup resting on the beach 🦭

It is important that we don’t bother the seal pup and allow it to rest so we do ask that you don’t linger outside the building.

We are open for business as normal with entry points remaining as you walk past the kiosk to the front of the building and from the college car park.

🍁It’s getting to that time of year where we are preparing our stocks for winter, it's hard to believe we are already coming up to our first year in business!

🐴We started off with solely suppling the local equine community with feed and bedding and are now delighted we can cater for every animal on our logo.

🍰 We are certainly looking forward to celebrating our first birthday and making plans for Argyll Animal Feeds future.

We are looking for homes for some very special cats who are coming into us 🥰We have a number of feral cats who are looking for safe stables/small holding homes….most are bonded pairs who were trapped together and must be rehomed together 🐱We also have some FIV positive cats who are looking for indoor homes only.They have all been vet checked and are doing really well.If you could help in any way please contact us 🐱

We have a very large number of cats who are going to be coming into us…some are adult ferals looking for country homes,some have come from a hoarding house,some have FIV and need very specific homes…we are going to be stretched but they are coming from our good friends who have got them all safe and now it’s our turn to help.We are appealing for experienced foster homes urgently….we need cat beds,dishes,litter,food etc to give our fosters…any help is very much appreciated 🐱❤️
