It's been a while since we've recommended dog friendly holiday accommodation. Many years ago we stayed here with our two dogs - an easy walk in to Canterbury city centre. We're not at Crufts since MIMsafe UK took over the cages. Mixed feelings really - it used to be a really exhausting six days but we enjoyed seeing all the lovely dogs - and people - there. It was an honour to be at the greatest dog show in the world talking about transporting dogs safely. We also met some very useful contacts who helped us with our Canine Bloat Awareness campaign - which still continues. Have fun if you're going!

We have three dogs in the crate in the back of our Volvo. But when we had two dobermanns and a golden we couldn't fit them all in, so Beau (of bloat awareness fame) travelled on the back seat on a crash tested harness. MIMsafe UK may be your first port of call for crash tested products now but we are now selling off our stock at great prices. I have a MimSafe Double Variogate Tailgate guard for sell. I’ve recently sold the car it was in and replaced it with a van for my dogs so it is no longer needed. It was originally about £460, but I’d be happy to sell it for £200 if someone would collect it. I live in Malvern, Worcestershire. The variogate is in very good condition (1 year old) with all its parts, keys, instruction manual and straps.

We have a fair few requests to advertise second hand cages for sale. Very happy to do that. But all we want to do is copy and paste the text from your message/email - you can then add pictures to the post and engage with your prospects. So don't forget to put in: location (nearest large town & county); your contact phone number and email address; size of crate (please find out what it is rather than guessing!); condition of crate; whether it has all the original parts (keys, divider, rubber mats); last but not least price. We usually recommend a starting price of 75% of the new price. But you may need to reduce it if it's a less popular size (Double Maximum or Mini Max). We strongly discourage people from sending via courier as there is no guarantee that the cage will arrive safely.

Following some confusion at Paws in the Park at the weekend I thought I'd clarify the Safedog situation. We were at the show with our Canine Bloat Awareness campaign. But we had our car on the stand as the crate allows our own dogs some comfort & privacy - we no longer sell the crates. We do, however, still have some crash tested harnesses for sale (by appointment only at our Biggin Hill warehouse). We also have ramps for sale - these can be sent via courier (mainland UK only). We have some spare parts for crates too but our supply of those is dwindling!
