Hemlock or Cow Parsley 🌱

Recent years have shown an increase in the presence of Hemlock, a highly toxic plant that can be deadly to horses if consumed.

Unfortunately Hemlock closely resembles Cow Parsley, a non-toxic plant that can also double as a tasty treat.

Hemlock and Cow Parsley can both grow in and around grazing paddocks, and you may also come across them while out hacking this summer—so it’s important to know how to tell them apart.

📞 Call us immediately on 01673 842448 if you're concerned that your horse has ingested Hemlock.

Meet the team - Dr Mo.

Mo can normally be found out and about on Equizone Visits or you may even spot him as one of the duty vets at Market Rasen Races.

Mo graduated from The University of Kosice, Slovakia in 2017. He joined us in March 2021 initially just as a Locum Vet. Since then, Mo has qualified as an Official Vet so that he can export horses abroad and is now one of our main anaesthetists for equine surgery.

Mo has a strong interest in Pre Purchase Examinations and serves as mentor for some of our recently graduated vets. In his spare time Mo particularly enjoys cooking and has also competed up to Medium Level BD, although house renovations have currently put his dressage journey on hold!
