Poor Roxy didn't have a good day yesterday.
Mid walk she started lagging behind, noticed she was limping quite bad, no weight bearing at all. Couldn't figure out what had happened, no running or silliness had happen prior.
But the way she held her leg i thought break or dislocation, it was very sore to the touch, but hadn't heard her cry from doing something...
I was about a mile from the car and couldn't have her walking on it. So I picked up like a baby so no pressure on the leg and carried her back. (Picked her up the normal way, legs down, and it was very uncomfortable for her) She gave me kisses the whole way haha, no wriggling or asking to get down... I think she knew she needed help.
during a rest I messaged her mum and dad, by the time I got back to the car her dad turned up and took her straight to the vets.
Vets were thinking dislocation or fracture, or serious arthritis. So she got xrays done...
Hip knee came back good, very very mild arthritis nothing thatd cause such pain..
Instead they found wear on her lower spin and on set of Spondylosis, spurs growing on her vertebrae... poor girl 😫 So vet thinks that's what causeming her pain... glad the vets didn't brush it off and say just rest her, they went straight in to find the cause.
So strick rest for 2wks with very short gentle walks. She'll hopefully rejoin buddy and us, but she'll have keep it easy or risk flare ups of pain.
She's still a happy girl, just a bit mythed at the short walks.
