Hi everyone, hopefully this is the final update! Chests feeling a bit clearer and nearly finished my antibiotics. I’m going to take the rest of this week off to make sure I’m better and I will be back on Monday.

Just another quick update, I’m still in a bit of a bad way. The antibiotics seem to be just starting to help but I’m still not in a fit state to work which is very frustrating.
This week is forecast to be hot so if I do manage to get well enough over the next couple of days it will be short walks or drop ins.
Fingers crossed I’ll be back mid week, so sorry for the inconvenience to everyone. I’m doing all I can to get fit and back out as soon as I’m able x

Hi everyone, just a quick update regarding my sick leave. I haven’t been improving and completely lost my voice, still feeling very poorly. Been to the docs this morning and been diagnosed with a severe chest infection. I’m now on antibiotics so will hopefully see some improvement now.
I’ll update again before Monday when I hope to be able to return to work.
I really appreciate everyone’s get well messages and patience over this, those of you who have been customers for a long time will know, this is a very unusual circumstance as I’m rarely off work for any reason so rest assured if I could be out walking I would be and i’ll be back as soon as I’m physically able.

Important info and dates for bully owners and the upcoming ban.

In regards to dog walking services for them, my insurance company have given guidance and it will still be possible for them to be walked however -
can only be walked 1 on 1, not with any other dogs
must be muzzled
Must have exemption certificate
Must have their own 3rd party liability insurance.
This may affect service providers charges and not all insurance companies will still cover walking bullies so check with your own provider.
I believe it will be compulsory to use a muzzle and lead from 31/12/23 and the exemption and other criteria applies from 01/02/24.
Hope this helps.

Owners of American XL Bullies can register their dogs on the Index of Exempted Dogs now and must do so by February 1, 2024 or have them euthanised.

Good morning everyone!
The 1 day of summer has finally arrived, it’s getting hot already. I am currently still doing walks but it may be necessary to cut them short or stop walks for day depending on how much warmer it gets.
As always your pets safety is my priority so I will take each walk as it comes and see how we go.

It’s frustrating I’m having to do another one of these posts but can everyone please make sure you pay upto date promptly. Everyone should have paid at the very latest by Friday and ideally no later than your dogs last walk of the week.
As of this morning I have only received half of the payments due. This is unsustainable as a business. Imagine how you would feel if your employer was late paying you every week.
I have a family to feed and bills to pay just like everyone else so please be considerate of this and timely in your payments. Standing orders are perfect for this!

Morning folks!

We now have a couple of spaces available for new dogs. They usually fill up quick so if you’re interested please get in touch via messenger for more info.

Also due to the ever increasing cost of living I can no longer afford to hold spaces open for customers without payment, upto now I’ve never increased my charges and I’d like to keep it that way so I’m not adding to everyone’s financial burden. I can only do that with a consistent income so it will be first come first served in order for me to be able to continue to maintain my services at a reasonable price. (This will not affect any customers with regular bookings)

Good morning!

We have a few bank holidays coming up where I won’t be available for work so I thought I’d post those dates now for anyone affected.

I’ll be off work

april - 7th and 10th
May - 1st, 8th and 29th
June - we have a week holiday booked so won’t be available between 12th and 16th (inclusive)
I hope these don’t cause anyone too much inconvenience.

Can anyone help rehome this lovely dog?! She’s been a customer of mine for a couple of years, only approx 3 yr old. Very friendly with people, she’s excitable and quite boisterous so needs plenty of exercise and would suit someone either with older kids or no kids and no other dogs. Can come with lead, harness, dog crate and food.
Desperately needs a home by Wednesday to avoid the rescue centre so if anyone can help please contact me via messenger asap 🤞🤞

Just a quick update for your diary’s of a holiday day. It’s my birthday on the 27th of this month so I’m taking the day off to spend with the family. I hope this is ok.
I will however be working this Monday as normal for those that need it with it now being a bank holiday. I know not everyone will be able to have the day off.

Just some advance notice of upcoming holiday days. I won’t be available for any walks on the 26th to 29th of august. It’s bank holiday weekend that weekend and we’re going away for a short break. I will be returning to work as normal on Tuesday 30th august.

Further to my previous post the temperature is already 25c before 10am!
Unfortunately yet again this will mean either short walks or drop ins only depending on breed and health and if the temp gets any higher it will be drop ins only.
Really sorry everyone, it’s so frustrating but as always your dogs health and safety has to come first! X

I hope you and your dogs have managed to stay safe in the heat over the last few days.

Today looks like more reasonable walking weather so I will be out as normal this morning . As usual I will keep a close eye on the dogs and the temperature and if necessary will shorten walks or do drop ins should the need arise.

The weather is set to get very warm again from today and into next week so as usual I will keep a close eye on it and may have to resort to drop in visits only once it gets too warm. I will message anyone affected as the day progresses.

Morning folks,
the temperatures over the next few days are set to soar again into the high 20s which may mean some afternoon walks may not be possible.
As always your dogs health is my main priority so if it gets too warm it will be drop in visits or short walks only. I will inform anyone this affects as and when required.

Please don’t underestimate the heat. It kills many of our beloved pets every year.

Make sure they always have plenty of water, keep them indoors as much as possible and if they show any signs of heat distress, lethargy, excessive panting, tongue turning from pink to purple/blue then cool them down with a wet towel laid on them and a fan on them and seek vet assistance ASAP.
Do not submerge your dog in cold water, this will send their body into shock.

I think I have told most people now but just to make you all aware I won’t be available for walks from Thursday 16th of June until I return on Monday 20th June. I’m taking a few days well earned rest!

Just a heads up to those haven’t seen it yet but there is a really bad gastroenteritis bug going round Yorkshire in dogs at the moment.

Please keep an eye on your dogs and if they are showing any symptoms such as sickness, diarrhoea, lethargy etc. Please keep them at home and away from other dogs to prevent it spreading further.
