I look forward to hearing from you :)

Please Note: I only offer group walks to established packs only. After years of teaching and doing photography I've decided to pursue something that is very close to my heart, and that is to work more closely with animals with a focus towards dogs. Starting with dog walking and pet sitting services I want to offer a service that is tailored towards the welfar

e of your dog. I may be new to the dog walking business but I've always been surrounded by animals. Being born in Shropshire I spent half my childhood on a farm working with cattle, dogs, chickens and endless farm cats and then in 2008 I got my first dog, Rocky. He was a beautiful Labrador who I had to help rehabilitate his life in his later years when he went blind and lost a leg through cancer. For two and a half years I had the best job ever, being Rocky's guide human and giving him a fulfilled life with walks and adventure. When he passed in 2019 I was broken and lost without him so I spent the following years and into lockdown looking after friends dogs when they went away or simply when they went to work. Then in late 2020 Willow came into my life. A beautiful mix of Husky/Shiba inu & Collie she is a natural hunter and a rescue that needed a lot of rehabilitation and socialisation on walks. She has changed my heart and course of my life forever. I'm so proud of the work I've done with her and both her and Rocky are the inspiration behind 'Dodd's Dog Walking'

As a business, my ethos is centred around the wellbeing of all the dogs I walk. This is the most important part of a dogs day as it provides the necessary exercise to help them burn off excess energy which helps stop unwanted behaviour and my walks are tailored to your dog(s) needs. I only walk singular dogs unless you have an established pack that I can meet as I don't want to bring any disharmony to a dogs energy and walk. I'm also keen to help improve dog walking etiquette so if you have a dog that is challenging on a walk then I will only be too happy to help. Alongside dog walking I also offer pet visits during the day if you need me to check in on your pet if you're at work during the day. This includes checking the welfare, giving your pet a toilet break and some playtime to help burn off some more energy so that they will be more relaxed when you come back from work. Im also have a full enhanced DBS so am able to provide pet sitting services for those looking for that support. Please see my website (launching February 2nd 2024) for a full breakdown of services that I offer. Over the next year I will be expanding on my services to include dog training on walks and behaviour training. Thank you for supporting 'Dodd's Dog Walking'

Peace and love

I've had the absolute honour of being part of the first walks for 'Gus' - We've been exploring and learning etiquette with meeting people and other dogs. The world outside is full of adventure and wonderful smells!

So it's official, I'm going back to school!

I'm excited to announce that I've enrolled on the Level 3 PETbc Accredited Dog Behaviour Diploma with the British College of Canine Studies.

As many of you know, working with Willow over these last few years has really transformed my life and I wouldn't even have my dog walking business if she hadn't inspired that.
However I've always known that setting this business up is just a stepping stone to where I want to be with working with dogs and I have such a passion with wanting to work with dogs and owners that need support in areas of rehabilitation.
Watching Willow transform to a very prey driven reactive dog to now one that walks to heel and has excellent recall is an achievement that I'm so proud of and I know that it is this direction that I want to take my life.

So I'm so excited to let you know that I'm now a part time student and will hopefully be working towards this qualification for completion by the end of the summer.

I'd also like to say a massive thank you to all my customers who have supported me this last month. You really have made me believe that this is really what I need to be doing in my life. Working with all your dogs has been a real honour and I look forward to just my weeks filled with nothing but dogs

What an amazing first week it's been! Thank you to all my new customers that have let me take care of all your beautiful pets this week, they have all been amazing. I've looked after four cats and four dogs already and already had consultations for more new customers coming up in the next few weeks.

I'd also like to say a huge thank you to Ellie's Dog Walking for also getting in contact and offering me a lovely welcome to the dog walking community

New blog post on the top 5 reasons why you should walk your dog! A perfect read with a cuppa! Thank you as always for all your support: https://wix.to/kLGLnFh

Whether you have a big dog or a small dog, a puppy or a senior. The one thing that they all require each day apart from our love and gifts of food is the daily walk. A walk for a dog is their most basic need and if you are committed to caring for a dog then you must know that 365 days a year you wil...

So it's official, my new website is now live and ready to start taking bookings so please spread the word! My services will initially be based in the local area of Chartham & Canterbury but over the next year I will be looking to expand this.

I'll also be writing blogs and sharing dog walking tips on my website and instagram for all my friends with dogs following my page outside of Kent.

Thank you so much for the recent support and tags on posts for people looking for a dog walker or pet sitter it really has touched me heart. Wishing you all a cracking day and have fun on those walks.

Peace x

Who here has a rescue dog?

I was asked to look after Willow for a day about a year before I rescued her. At the time I never even considered that she would come to live with me.  She was very reactive to almost everything and wasn’t particularly fond of men which I believe came from her experience as a puppy (I only have limited information on her from her early days)

That first day she was with me, I spent probably two hours just laying with her, giving her space. Then her paw reached out to me and I remember her placing it on my hand. This was the first time she trusted me enough to stroke her and before long we had both fallen asleep.

My daughter took this picture and I’m so grateful for that moment in time to be captured.

Double tap if you have a rescue dog or are thinking about getting one.
