This is the lovely Lily, who we saw as an emergency this week.
Lily's mom gave her a Christmas treat, and unfortunately, Lilly broke off a large piece and tried to swallow it. Lily became very distressed and was trying to vomit. We took an X-ray, which confirmed that she had a foreign object stuck in her esophagus.
Thankfully, our practice has a gastroscope, allowing us to quickly investigate. In the video, you can watch Sarah and Claire carefully insert the gastroscope into Lily's esophagus. They then discovered a large piece of the treat lodged there, right where it passes over her heart. Remarkably, you can even see Lily's heartbeat through the esophageal wall!
The team, consisting of Claire, Sarah, Meg, and Gemma, then used a specialised tool to carefully grasp and break up the treat. They successfully dislodged the blockage and pushed it down into Lily's stomach, where it will be safely digested.
Happy New Year! Wishing you and your pets a happy and healthy 2025 💜
📣 Exciting News! Beacon View is Expanding!
📣 Exciting News! Beacon View is Expanding!
We're thrilled to announce that Beacon View will be starting construction on a new, larger clinical area in 2025.
Over the past year, we've been working hard on a project to take Beacon View to the next level. We're delighted to share that our planning application to expand into our neighbouring building has been approved!
This extra space will allow us to offer a wider range of services and treatments for our valued patients. We'll be expanding our medical, surgical, diagnostic imaging, and complementary treatment capabilities.
Rest assured, this expansion will cause minimal disruption to our current services. We're excited to keep you updated on our progress through regular social media posts.
Thank you for your continued support we are super excited for 2025! 💜🩵
