Today, we’re celebrating International Cat Day by honoring the amazing cats that have visited our practices! From routine check-ups to heartwarming rescue stories, we’ve had the privilege of caring for these adorable furballs 🐱💖 Dive into the video to meet some of our favorite feline patients and read their stories!
1. Sooty 🌟
Story: Sooty spent 20 wonderful years with us after coming in as a 1-year-old when his owner could no longer keep him. Instead of saying goodbye, we welcomed him into our Greenford family. For two decades, he greeted clients from his spot at reception, bringing joy to everyone he met. At 21, his kidneys failed, and we sadly had to say goodbye. Sooty will always hold a special place in our hearts.
2. Nala 🧡
Story: Nala recently came in for her spay surgery, and she’s not just any ginger cat—she’s part of a rare group! Did you know that only 20% of all ginger cats are female? That’s because for a female to be ginger, she needs the 'O' gene on both of her 'X' chromosomes. With so many possible combinations, it’s much less common for a girl like Nala to have that beautiful orange coat.
3. Blossom 🌸
Story: Blossom was found abandoned in a cardboard box in the woods near our branch, scared and alone. We named her Blossom in honour of the springtime and her woodland discovery. Eventually, we found her a forever home with a lovely owner!
4. Oreo 🌚
Story: Oreo came in for a recheck post-castration at our Uxbridge branch, and let’s just say we’ve never seen a cat look so dissatisfied with his stylish new accessory 🍉 All went well, and he was delighted to have it removed!
5. Cloud ☁
Story: Little Cloud visited our practice for his first vaccination and microchip, and he handled it like a champ 💪 These first check-ups are so important—they help protect our tiny friends from serious illnesses and ensure they’re off to a healthy start!
6. Mavis 🐾
Story: Mavis is one of our beloved senior cats
We hope everyone enjoyed celebrating World Chocolate Day this past weekend 🍫
Chocolate contains Theobromine and caffeine, which can have severe effects on our pet’s hearts, kidneys, and nervous system if consumed 🫀
Be aware of any signs of consumption in your pets, such as
⚠️ Vomiting
⚠️ Diarrhoea
⚠️ Panting
⚠️ Racing Heart rate
If your dog shows any of these symptoms, or if you suspect that it may have ingested chocolate, remain calm and seek veterinary care immediately 🩺
It’s in our pet’s nature to be inquisitive and hunt for treats, so we must ensure that all chocolate is stored appropriately, far away from their reach at all times!
