So I have not wanted to add my 2 cents to this but it's needed I think, so I take both cash, card, Bacs and PayPal. I need to let people know the actual workings of how this works by something that happened today and this goes for either a small business or even for a Greggs coffee.

I had someone pay by card for 2 packets of dog treats today at £1 each, my card transaction fee is a percentage of the transaction , due to the fact if I don't sell that treat for £1 I always get "the it's the same price in Sainsbury's" so I make a tiny profit on each packet in hopes someone buys something else.

This isn't a cash is king or card is bad or anything like that it's a please use your common sense and I hope this break down helps.

Not only do I get charged by the card machine provider that % fee I get charged by my bank for the handling fee so I made probably 20p (if I made anything all being said) on that whole £2 transaction, all I ask is carry a few pounds in your pockets for small item purchases or just spend that little bit more on card so it doesn't sting the retailer, we have already lost Wilko's, Boots are now closing 300 stores, WHSmith are leaving Alfreton. You are actually losing shops now at a rapid rate.

I am not saying paying by cash is a fix your high street problem it's more the don't chuck gasoline on the BBQ as you will ruin your tea problem.

That is all now go enjoy your weekend 😁
