Four beautiful kittens are looking for new homes. Found on a farm and been with us for the last 10 days. Health checked, wormed and flea’d. Tested negative for FIV. Approx 7 weeks old, eating well. 3 girls and 1 boy. Very playful and friendly now.

Poor Mr P was not feeling himself, but with this big lump of pus removed under anaesthetic hopefully he is now on the right road to recovery. 🤞 ☺️

Sophia Smith-Saville our lovely RVN is sadly leaving us and moving with her family away from Orkney next week. We know you will all miss her and join us in wishing her very well in her exciting new vet nurse job in Scotland.

We are absolutely delighted that Anna Davidson has moved back to Orkney after gathering amazing experience at Glasgow vet school and in Yorkshire, and has joined our team again.

She has been visiting the garden of a house in the Deerness area, not too far from the shop, for over a week and seems to seek shelter outside. Does she belong to you? She is very timid and flighty. We have sadly had a deceased adult ginger cat handed into us last night which was found in Tankerness, around the junction to Bossack. He is a large male, and wasn’t neutered. He had no microchip or collar. If you think he might be yours please call us on 872859.

Moira Sinclair, Kate Carmichael and John Davidson tell Karen about their lives as Orkney vets, their plans to expand the practice and share some of the funny stories that just shouldn’t happen to a vet.

This Enterprising Orkney programme was due to be broadcast last week - but it was delayed for a week due to the programme reacting to the Council Leader James Stockan’s surprise resignation.

The show will be listed as “Made in Orkney” on BBC Sounds on Monday 22nd January if you want to listen back.

We have had a very friendly cat handed into us🐱

He's a black, neutered male with a white bib and white specks in his coat. He was found on Pickaquoy Loan. He has no microchip or collar.

🎄🌟 A Christmas Miracle 🌟🎄

After he went missing in September 2022(!), Charlie's family got the biggest surprise yesterday when he was found by Katherine, one of our vets!😍

She noticed him in her garden. He was hungry and limping with an injured paw. She was able to check him over and provide pain relief. Thankfully Charlie was microchipped, which helped us find his owners quickly.

This story goes to show how important it is to get your pets microchipped, and ensure your details are kept up to date. 🙂

I'm sure Charlie has many stories from his adventures over the last 15 months... but for now he is relaxing back at home with his delighted family, all cosied up with a full belly. 🥰🐱😊
