APPLICATIONS CLOSED

2 1/2 year old Fox Red, is now looking for a new home. He has been in kennels whilst his family took a holiday. He is an affectionate boy once he gets to know you but can be a little nervous of strangers coming into the home and will bark at men until he feels relaxed around them.
He lives at home with 2 children aged 5 & 8 and settles well around young people.
He has a family dog that visits most days and he is fine with familiar dogs.
He knows all the basic commands and will do anything for a treat!
Chester enjoys cuddles on the sofa and is not destructive around the home.
He enjoys going for walks and he is not reactive to other dogs although he loves to play if allowed.
His owners do not let him off the lead as he does need some help with his recall.
If he sees cats, he will chase them.
Chester has lots of toys but he doesn’t really play with them although he does enjoy a ball in the garden.
He travels well in the car.
He can be quite anxious if people approach him whilst out walking and because of this he may be better suited to an environment that isnt built up and busy.
He can live with another dog.
If you are able to offer this lovely boy his forever home please email with some information about yourself, your experiences and the home that you have to offer him 🧡🐾
**please also include your location as we are only able to rehome to the areas that our charity cover, details of which can be found on our website** www.labrador-lifeline.com please email [email protected] in the first instance.

Dogs are not hamsters. I’d like to see crate manufacturers state clearly on their products that they are not suitable containers for housing dogs for hours on end. Let’s spread the word that dogs should not be spending more than a couple of daytime hours a day in a crate.

This lovely girl is two years old and is spayed. She is looking for a new pet home through no fault of her own. She is a friendly, happy girl with both two and four legged friends! (She has not lived with cats)She is rarely walked on lead in her current home, so this will need work along with general obedience training. She is, as to be expected, lively and training classes to ‘further her education’ would definitely be a bonus in her new home. She has not lived with children so if there are any in the home they would need to be older. If you would like to register your interest please email [email protected] or [email protected] giving information of the home you have to offer and your experience. If you are shortlisted you will be contacted further. Please only apply if you live in an area the charity covers which are listed on the website. ***negative comments will be removed.

NOW RESERVED FOR HIS NEW HOME 🙂
This super handsome chap is three years old. He is a sensitive chap who is seeking a new sofa due to family changing commitments. He ideally needs a quieter home and someone around for the majority of the time. He is a lively chap who will jump up for attention so even though he has lived with a child, no little ones please. He can get a little anxious initially around people he doesn’t know, but soon warms up to them if left to come round in his own time. He does need regular exercise to burn off some of that energy and we feel a lady in the house is a must as he seems to like their company! This lovely boy will take a little time to adjust to a new home, but with time and patience he should blossom. If you would like to register your interest please email [email protected] or [email protected] giving details of the home you have to offer and your experience. Please only apply if you are in one of the areas we cover which are listed on the website. If you are shortlisted you will be contacted. **Negative comments will be removed**

**STILL LOOKING FOR A HOME**

This beautiful girl is 5 yrs old and is looking for a new home. She is a bouncy, very friendly, obedient girl. She currently lives on a farm with other labs, and lives outside. It shouldn't take too much time to toilet train her as she has spent some time in the home, but patience will be needed with this, and settling her to live in a home environment. We will be looking for an INDOOR home only for her.

She gets on well with the other dogs she lives with.

She has never lived with children, so we would like an adult, experienced home, who are around during the day.

She recently had a season so once settled into her new home she will be ready to be spayed. Although she has lived with other dogs, if someone is around during the day she would probably like the undivided attention. She is looking for a new home in any of the extended areas covered by the Charity (details on the website)

Email your interest to [email protected] or [email protected] giving details of your experience and the home you have to offer. If you are shortlisted you will be contacted further.

This delightful female is just 15 months old and looking for a new home.
She is currently living with her sibling brother and another dog (cockerpoo) but as with most litter mates homed together, it doesn’t usually work out well.
She lives with a family and is used to children.
She is non reactive to other dogs on and off the lead and has good recall.
Food driven, she is very obedient and enjoys nothing better than a cuddle on the sofa and a soft toy (although will make quick work of taking the stuffing out of toys)
She is not destructive around the home.
She isn’t usually left for long and so a home where someone is around for long periods of the day will be most ideal.
As she is still young she will need a home that can take her out for 2 nice walks a day. If there is another resident dog she would be better suited to one that is older.
She comfortably lives with 2 cats.
If you would like to offer this beautiful girl a home please email with some information about yourself, your experiences and the home that you have to offer her.
**Please also include your location as we are only able to rehome to the areas that the charity cover, details of which can be found on our website**

Adders are warming up... 🐍

☀️ With the weather warming up, it’s a timely moment to remind all dog owners to be aware of adders, the UK’s only native poisonous snake. Adders hibernate over the winter and emerge during the spring, putting dogs at increased risk during the summer months when the weather is generally warmer.

Adders only tend to bite in self-defence, for instance, when they are stepped on accidentally or disturbed by an inquisitive dog. However, when they do, bites can be dangerous as they can induce lameness, vomiting, and changes to the heartbeat, blood pressure, and breathing rate.

They are typically found on dry, sandy heaths, sand dunes, rocky hillsides, moorlands, and woodland edges, although not limited to these environments.

Visually, bites typically result in dark-coloured swelling that can quickly become severe. If your dog has been bitten by an adder, please get in touch with us or your nearest vet immediately.

A little plea from me. Please dont ever buy a Labrador puppy or older dog off these marketing websites. You just dont know what you are getting and there are so many scammers out there praying on people who dont know better.
I had a call yesterday from a lady that had gone on to one of these sites and found an 8 month old fox red Labrador puppy being advertised. She spoke to the vendor who said the dog was kc reg and he bred working gundogs and this dog was a failed gundog (at 8 months!) She arranged to go and see the puppy at his kennels together with the parents of the pup. 24 hours before she went to visit she had a call from the breeder saying he was passing her front door and would deliver said puppy to save her a trip. Sadly she fell for it and he delivered the puppy and collected her cash- it had to be a cash sale. I wonder why, I bet HMRC would like to know!
Needless to say it has gone wrong the puppy is so nervous its on the point of aggression, housetraining was non existent despite being told at 8 months old he was fully trained. The poor lady cannot cope and is desperately looking for a rescue place for the dog. I would add this is way out of our area.
This is just heartache for her as she feels she has failed and sad for the dog who gets moved on yet again.
Please be aware that there are some rotten people about who will do anything for a fast buck. They are not interested in the dog they only want money. They will forge documents and spin a yarn to the unsuspecting.
Please if you are looking for a Labrador or any other specific breed then go to a reputable breed rescue. They know their dogs and the right homes for them. In the majority of cases they come with a full vet history.
If you need help or advice then please ask us we are here to help you make the right decision with the right dog.

This gorgeous spayed female is just 18 months old. She is seeking a new home as the other dog in the household is older and not able to keep up with her wanting rough and tumble. Our helper was very taken with her and says she is such a lovely dog! She is an early riser, so if you like a lie in she isn’t for you! She regularly stays with a family member who have children and other dogs (spaniels) and is good with both! She currently is rarely left so we will be looking for a home where someone is around for most the day. If there are children in the home they will need to be aged 8 plus, and dog savvy. As with any dog this age she will need ongoing training. Any dogs in the home need to be of a similar age/activity level. Please email initially with a bit about your experience and the home you have to offer. We will shortlist from these emails. As we expect many applicants you will only be contacted further if you have been shortlisted. We only rehome in areas covered by the charity, these are detailed on the website. ** Please add your location! ** Email [email protected] or [email protected]

BLOAT-As a large breed, deep chested dog Labradors are at risk of this life threatening condition. It’s something which needs rapid vet intervention.

Bloat is a medical emergency and one of the most rapidly life-threatening conditions that vets treat in dogs. It involves the stomach but can quickly lead to life threatening shock if left untreated.
