ENORMOUSE and ANOTHER MOUSE 💚

These full brothers were both in training with Kayley Woollacott Racing and both competed at The Jockey Club RoR National Championships in dressage.

Here they are sharing a moment celebrating ENORMOUSE & Sophie Hawke's win in the RoR Novice Restricted Dressage Championship.

Lovely to see Enormouse win at RoR National Championships at Aintree with Sophie Hawke.

Enormouse won a race for us over fences at Chepstow back in 2022 and has been a huge hit in the Dressage arena since his retirement! He lives here, at Blackmore Farm, with Sophie!

Lalor returns to Aintree Racecourse, where he landed Grade 1 success in the Betway Top Novices' Hurdle in 2018 and wins again!

Lalor retired from racing earlier this year with trainer Paul Nicholls, and returned to Kayley Woollacott Racing where he has retrained with Kayley's sister Steph Jones to compete in dressage.

Today, they won the RoR National Dressage Intro Restricted Championship 2024, kindly sponsored by SPILLERS.

Could be a broodmare as nicely bred, return pointing or project for someone to reschool for a new job.

Ran this week, finished sound. No vices, hacks alone or in company, good in traffic, but not novice ploddy ride - she can have a bit of sass about her!

Looking to gain more experience within the Equine Industry? 🏇🏼

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team. Someone who would like to work and learn at the same time with a Haddon Training Apprenticeship.

This would be a yard based apprenticeship role, working around 30 hours a week while learning about the equine, and more specifically, racing industry. We are a yard of around 40 horses with a great team behind them. We are looking for someone to start from the beginning of September.

It was lovely to be able to sponsor the Retraining of Racehorses Classes today at North Devon Show 🐎

The horses were a huge credit to their riders and all looked a picture. It’s lovely to see them all enjoying a different career after racing!

The ridden class was won by Leanne Lemouch with Barwick and in 2nd was Katie Cowley 🥇🥈

17hh 5yo by Telescope, out of black type dam from Kauto Star family. very close second on his last start in a maiden point to point. Missed the sales due to a cut which is now healed. Out at grass but exciting prospect to go forward with for next season, late maturing but shown ability and plenty of scope for NH.

No vices, clean wind and legs.

Reasonably priced as syndicate need to make room for youngstock coming through.

Would love to retain in the yard but is available to move according to buyers preference.

Won a maiden, placed head second in restricted. Should easily win her restricted this season. Sound, easy ride, never unseated or fallen, jumps well.
Ridden by a girl at home, will go out on her own, in a big string or nanny the kids without any fuss - she’s a real 💎

Has hunted on some the local busiest meets Christmas Eve and Boxing Day, always in a snaffle, jumps everything and doesn’t get wound up.

Turned out on her holiday at present so sold from the field but this mare is 100% in all ways.

Would be a great team chaser / hunter / eventer - you name it she would probably go and do it with minimal fuss.

Has seen XC fences, done SJ coaching with Yogi Breisner

There will always be those horses that we owe more than they will ever know 💜 Happy retirement Corach Rambler

A message from Lucinda, Scu, and The Ramblers

After a lot of thought and discussion we have decided that our brilliant 2023 Grand National winner Corach Rambler is going to be retired.

In some ways the decision is laced with sadness. Corach has been a horse of a lifetime for his seven-strong syndicate of owners who won the greatest steeplechase in the world.

He also has had a special relationship with our jockey Derek Fox and has brought so much joy to all our staff here at Arlary.

But the decision is also a joyous one. Corach Rambler will always be a special horse for us, we owe him so much.

More than anything we want him to go out at the top, in excellent physical condition and able to hopefully enjoy a long and happy retirement.

Corach has had a massive influence on the fantastic run of success we are enjoying and influx of new horses and owners to our stable.

His story has resonated with both racing fans and those people who take a casual interest in the sport.

The fact he only cost £17,000 and mixed with and beat equine millionaires gave hope to any owner and trainer that they can compete no matter what their budget.

Corach’s quirky character and his running style also endeared him to his fans.

The first of his two wins in the Ultima Handicap Chase at the 2022 Cheltenham Festival earned Derek awards for his daring last-to-first ride but even he would admit Corach was the star act.

He will forever be remembered for his Grand National victory but it should not be forgotten that he had an excellent record at Cheltenham.

He raced there four times and his record is three wins, two at the Festival, and a third to Galopins Des Champs in last season’s Gold Cup.

In all he won seven of his 18 races and over £750,000. He quite literally owes us nothing - we are in his debt.

To some our decision will be a surprise. Corach is only 10, he could have raced on. But we feel we have a great responsibility with a horse with his public following to do the best thing for him.

His run in the Grand National in April did not work out as we all hoped. He unseated Derek at the first fence and then was unfortunately knocked over at the next fence when running loose.

Maybe that frightened him a bit. We have said all along that he is one of the most intelligent horses we have ever trained and he never looked happy when we ran him at Punchestown last month.

The big steeplechases next season will be contested by younger up-and-coming horses and we are not inclined to make Corach carry big weights in handicaps.

Quite simply, we could not forgive ourselves if something happened to him.

Apart from not racing any more Corach’s routine will not change much. He will remain with us at Arlary and he will become Scu’s hack, pulling his arms out every day they go up the gallops!

He will also be able to pass on a few tips to the younger horses we hope will try to follow in his footsteps.

They all have a hard act to follow. Thank you, Corach

LALOR 🌟 went to a new venue for his second dressage test, winning with 77.39% and is now qualified for regional event at Chard in June. He’s off to have a little holiday in the field with some horsey friends while is away for work.

💔 🕊️ Very sadly we lost Nickelsonthedime today, he was a beautiful and kind chap who gave us all so much fun over the years winning 2 point to points and 3 hurdles and rarely ever out of the placings. Thoughts are with his owners and also our team, these things hit hard and he was a real favourite for & all of our small and hardworking team 💜💛 RIP Dimeo
