I haven’t posted for a while but I couldn’t resist the joy of the dogs in the snow this morning. Dougie likes his snood so much he keeps it on in the house.

I have been a bit slow to introduce some new recruits and update you all on Dugzoot activity. Her we have Cooper, Bali, Daphne, Kiva, Kalokeri and Frank. They are settling well into the team. There has been lots of greyhound activity…patting greyhounds, stacking greyhounds and even knitting greyhounds.

I am very sad to report that Dugzoot has lost its doggy leader. We had to let Emily go yesterday. She couldn’t come back from cancer in her shoulder. She had lots of spoiling in the last few days and we kept her comfortable. I will miss my best doggy companion so much but the rest of the Dugzoot team will cheer me up and I look forward to seeing them. There was a rainbow over Mortonhall on Thursday for Emily. She’s up there chasing the bunnies and squirrels.

Buddy got the collar of shame. Ted went to the pub and Maddy had 8 pups. Now that’s hard work.
We have splashed and sploshed but nobody does mud like Lana.

Here are some occasional members of the gang who have been having a great time on Dugzoot walks. Meet Spike, Lara, Bramble and Sunny. (I love my 3 black beauties.)

In other news the donations in memory of Blue the Grey have reached over $120,000. He broke records, he broke his leg, he broke wind and broke the internet!

From the human: It was nearly 1am when I cathartically poured some emotions your way (thanks for listening) and asked that those who were able to, to help me honour Blue by donating the amount of a piece of toast to help other greyhounds like him.

I woke up this morning to see that more than $7,000 had flooded in .... and now that has more than doubled .... and oh dear who around here is cutting the onions??

I don't know what to say. My heart is so empty and so full at the same time. Just, thank you. To think of other longbois and lengthy girls being able to be rescued and loved because of Blue is the most beautiful thing on earth.

We might as well see how far this goes, don't you think? Next stop $20K (then a billion?) Let's do this.

Some new recruits to the gang to be introduced.
We have Bella who is Woody’s friend and has been coming on walks for a few weeks now. She is a sweety and just loves a cuddle.
We also have Isla (who looks very like Bella). She is enjoying exploring new places with her new pals including the Braid Burn!
And just arrived is Paddy the pup who is just getting used to walks. He won’t stay still for the camera, everything is just soooooo exciting.

It’s great to welcome Ollie and Freddy once a week each. Ollie loves running around with his new pals and charges into the van as soon as he sees me. Freddy still has some growing to do but he has chosen Storm as his role model which shows he thinks big.

Dugzoot is taking even more dugs oot (but not too many). Introducing the lovely Iggy, young collie pup. He loves making friends and is looking forward to growing into his ears.
We also have young Belle who is a live wire. She is also loving running with the others and fits right in.

Well it has been a very cold, snowy, challenging week. Dogs with mega snow balls attached, dogs in snow drifts, van in snow drifts, van doors frozen shut, blocked roads, dogs who hate sledgers. They had a great time.
