This video captures Marlow’s progress😍
Since Marlow’s last visit 6 weeks ago, I asked his mum and dad to play around with his paws at home to hopefully desensitise them.
Along with this distraction technique and his mum and dads help, I can now safely remove all of the matting between his paw pads which will make him much more comfortable☺️
Dogs need your patience, it really helps to try lots of different tricks and distractions to make them more trusting.
After all they are just afraid!

Brushing your dog in between grooms will reduce the matting in the fur meaning they can keep a longer coat. Grooms every 6 weeks will reduce matting too!

Meet Willow - the winner of the Easter competition! 🐣 🐰 🍫
Little Willow was so well behaved! After winning the competition for the full groom Willow went nice and short on her body to remove some matting she had which would have been pulling on her skin. This will make her much more comfortable. Her coat is now starting fresh, ready for summer☀️
Willow had a cute little teddy bear face. She didn’t like the drier on her head so we did as best as we could, trying not to stress her out so that she would have a positive experience.
We managed to save some of her tail too! Can’t wait to see her next time🥰

Bailey was such an angel today🥹 She came in for a full groom. Her owner wanted her to stay nice and fluffy however, because she was quite matted we had to clip Bailey very short for her own comfort.
This means her coat can have a fresh start and it can gradually become longer, with regular 6 week grooms the chances of matting are slim and her owner will see the fluffy coat she desires ☺️
Baileys ears were heavily matted and clipping the matts off can sometimes cause hematomas. These are large blood blisters caused by the blood rushing back to the ears. We prevented this today by putting a happy hoodie on Bailey after her ears were clipped. This stops her from shaking her ears and potentially causing hematomas.
Now Bailey is matt free and ready to enjoy the summer☀️

🌼Bubbly Belle🌼 such a beautiful little pup full of beans! Belle was clipped nice and short to avoid matting and keep cool for the summer! Bella had matting throughout her coat quiet close to the skin so we had to go nice and short. This will allow cool air to the skin and would be so much more comfortable for her, especially in the summer months. Matting can cause skin irritation and sores, it can also reduce blow flow to matted areas. If you can’t get a brush through your dogs coat it may need a shave down and a fresh start😊 Your dogs comfort and health is my main priority❤️
