Cash… 💕❤️💕

Our dear old boy Cash thoroughly enjoying the sunshine yesterday,
We took his rug off after he’d been wearing it through the cold night and he practically sunbathed all day ☀️😎
He is ever so slow these days the cold winter months make his joints stiff so we try and keep him warm and he has daily meds to help him.
He has a lovely soft coat and a loving nature which means he gets lots of cuddles from all the volunteers 🥰

Father and Son Dougal & Dudley…. 🩵💙🩵💙

Dougal on the right he is a lovely boy laid back calm prefers his own company pottering about, we think he is in his late teens 🥰
Dudley on the other hand is young about 5/6 very playful and inquisitive , he likes all the donkeys in the herd especially the ones who are up for some fun and games 😆 we often see him with little Reggie having some mutual groom time 🤗

Frank…… quite frankly gorgeous 💙❤️💙❤️

He’s got a big personality for a small donkey, knows what he wants, which most of the time is food 😆 he is extremely lovable, he adores cuddles and a fuss and will stand for ages with you loving every minute of it 🤗
He also really enjoys his walks out with his best friend Teddy although we do have to stop a lot along the way for munchies on grass and hedges…. Well we all like to eat out 😋

Love this boy he is so quirky, very comical he loves life and everyone from his human carers and the whole herd of his donkey family 🥰

Denzel and Reggie…. ❤️🩶❤️🩶

Denzel is one of our big boys and Reggie is the smallest being a miniature donkey , Reggie has been with us since September sadly been living on a tether and very nervy of people.
He may be small but it didn’t take long for him to mix into the herd and become part of the family, standing his ground….. he’s a tough little cookie 😆

Denzel is a gentle boy who just gets on with everyone and isn’t faced by anything … good old Dennis 🥰

Percy and Dudley…. 🩶🤍🩶🤍

A some what soggy damp grey day yesterday didn’t stop these two playing a game of chase around the sand area 🤣

We have had a lot of people ask when the sanctuary will reopen so planned opening will be …….. 5th April ……. Once again by booking please the sanctuary is small with limited facilities/ parking etc and being mindful it is the donkeys home of peace and calmness.

‼️We wont be taking any bookings until a week before - Friday 28th ‼️ We are extremely busy lots to do as always sometimes there is just not enough hours in the day/week 🤪

Thank you all for my Birthday wishes ☺️ wondered why Paul insisted he did yesterday’s post… 😆

Here’s two soul mates Ozzy and Hugo 🤎❤️

Ozzy ( on the left ) he came from Ireland very wary of people and in need of some tlc , he is a lovely boy polite and kind to all his other donkey pals.
Hugo he was in a bad state of neglect we rescued him in the nick of time along with two others Alfie and we believed mum Daphne who sadly passed with cancer 🥲
They really do stick together and are quite playful when the mood takes them.

clear to see as she devotes her whole life to their care, we deeply appreciate all she does and and the high standards
she strives for.
(Despite having to work most of it) we wish you a very Happy Birthday and hope you feel as proud of yourself as much as we do of you 🤗🥰

Albie….💖🩵💖

This boy is such a sweetheart he is so very quiet for a young donkey, likes nothing better then to hang out with his pal Percy quietly just watching whats going on around him or hanging around as close as he can be to the feed room over the gate braying for a treat 🍏🥕 and he has the most awful screechy bray 😆

Bless him…. food and snoozing are his favourite things ☺️ xx

Aww recognise that gorgeous brown muzzle 🤗 ….it can only be Teddy - aka Bear 🤎❤️🤎❤️

Poor Bear has been struggling with his arthritis lately the cold grey damp weather doesn’t help ,the vet was out on Friday and has prescribed some more meds hopefully we will see an improvement soon 🤞
We believe Teddy is well into his late teens probably approaching 20s?
We need some warm sunshine that always makes us feel much better ☀️ but in the mean time we have the heat lamps!

He is a big stocky boy with a very calm quiet kind nature he likes to observe whats going on around but doesn’t always get involved, he is a real thinker he adores Piper they are best friends and hang out together 🥰
Just look at those beautiful eyes and those huge fluffy ears 🤗

Gill has been a dedicated member of our volunteer team for ( Donkeys years 🤣 ) she helps out in the shop on our open days and has often gone out and about with donkeys over the festivities and all sorts of events 🥰

Coco….. 💙🩵💙🩵

This boy is big stocky and very handsome 😍 but not the most lovable cuddly donkey, he prefers to be amongst his friends doing what donkeys do and sometimes getting up to mischief!! He is very strong willed and knows what he wants and what he doesn’t although can always be persuaded with a carrot 🥕
He used to be a beach donkey but honestly it wasn’t for him as he would just lay down on the job and have a snooze 🤣 ( couldn’t be bothered or see the point of it 🤣 )

We adore him and love his strong personality xx

Pedro & Dylan…… 💖💙💖

Two beautiful boys who came from totally different backgrounds , lonely and in need of companionship of their own kind ….. 🫏
Being of similar age they bonded pretty much straight away and have been inseparable ever since , they are such great easy going lovable boys and always make us smile ☺️
They literally do everything together , go everywhere together honestly they are so in love 💕 ❤️💕 🥰 Feeling the Valentine’s vibe 🥰 💕❤️💕

Carrots 🥕🥕🥕

Can you believe it we are almost out of carrots 🥕 we were literally inundated with them after Christmas and now all have been munched and enjoyed 😋

If you would like to put a smile on a donkeys face you can drop some off at the sanctuary gates or purchase a net of carrots via our website 🥕😋

Charlie Brown - aka CB 💕❤️💕

Cb is about 24 years old now his face has gone very grey which makes him even more handsome than he already was 🥰
He is still very spritely, he hasn’t got a bonded friendship with any of the other donkeys he prefers his own company and of course he has us to give him bum scratches when he demands it reversing in to you quite abruptly 😆
He can be quite grumpy around food dare anyone who tries to pinch it 😤 So we feed him quietly on his own as not to cause any upset.

Love him , he really is a lovely boy with a big personality ###

Whoo Hoo! The rain has stopped!!! 🤗😃

Rusty loves a facial…… 🥰 Hope you enjoy this little clip! We steam the donkeys hay to help reduce dust etc. it comes out of the steamer smelling malty and delicious and is of course lovely and warm, as soon as you make your way over to the shelters to put it in the troughs we are met by little Rusty who won’t let you pass without his daily ritual of rubbing his face all over it he absolutely loves it! It makes us smile every time 😊
