My 15th publication since I started my career as a Veterinarian is finally out out!!! and this specific one is dedicated to MYSELF...I took this case over as a referral last year when my confidence as a Surgeon was at its lowest due to anxiety and stress following a dog attack to my face and I really thought I could not work on it; in fact i didnt want to work on it 😭. I had zero confidence in my skills 🙃🙃..I was in a dark dark place.. In spite of this my patient's owners never doubted my skills and that gave the strength to continue with it. This is a very rare case on microsurgery in avian species that has not been documented before and the survival rate post surgery is extremely low however my patient pulled through it like a boss girl. I promised Vava's owners that I would publish this case and here it is over a year later. I hope the Vets in UK and worldwide enjoy it 🥰🖤

I'm treating this falcon for early stages of bumblefoot at present. I saw him on Monday and these are progress pictures in only 2 days. I want to manage the case medically before starting more aggressive treatment and investigations but so far so good. I'm extremely happy with his progress so far 🙌🙏🦅

Saw this baby girl, a newly registered client, in the afternoon yesterday with acute vomiting and diarrhoea, slightly dehydrated...glad to see that she's already better. Her vomiting has stopped as well as her diarrhoea and she's eating and drinking well. Seeing her today for a quick check up but so far so good. Please be mindful of young animals specially puppies and kittens with an acute onset of vomiting and diarrhoea in the warm weather since this can be fatal. The sooner they start receiving treatment and fluids the better chances for a faster and successful recovery 🙏

Please do still bear in mind that your small furries are highly sensitive to warm temperatures and what to you may feel ok to them may feel super warm 🙏..make sure that you maintain them cool and if you spot any change in behaviour..contact an exotic Vet ASAP ❤

Took a little longer than expected but Jacky is finally getting exported to Spain 🇪🇸 and he's too friendly 🥰 Jacky started his 30 days of quarantine on June 21st and he was meant to move to Spain on July 18th but due to his Owner getting sick at the very last minute we had to postpone his export and his quarantine for another 15 days 🙃🙃..however he did very well and remained in his quarantine enclosure with no complaints. Today they are finally going to Spain and he stopped by to say goodbye and to have his last health check so that i could complete his certificate on their way to Portsmouth.. safe travels little one!! Please bear in mind that unpredictable events can happen when you are preparing an export. .luckily head Vets from DEFRA and APHA were understanding and helped me a lot with this case 😊🙏

Gary, the cream colour rabbit was presented last night with mild heat stroke resulting in gut stasis. On exam he wasn't in shock however he was hyperventilating and had tachycardia. He was stabilised and fluid therapy was started as well as other several meds to help with the gut stasis..is not been a day yet of intensive nursing and care and he seems to be slowly progressing 🤞🤞🤞...come on Gary! You got this and thanks to the owners for their compliance with my instructions 😊. Please do remember that a slight change in your rabbits routine grants a trip to the Vet ASAP specially in the hot weather 🙌

Another emergency today was this poor baby girl that yesterday disappeared in the garden because a fox dragged her around abd chewed her 😭😭 luckily she was found by the fence and I could see her straight away. Please note that foxes carry large amount of bacteria in their teeth and management of wounds by foxes in reptiles require careful planning, management and the correct treatment. This little will be checked up again I'm the next 5-7 days to assess healing 🙌🐢 . Please be mindful of foxes in the garden too..

Mou mou boy has been under my care for the last 3 years. Today he had his annual boosters and flea treatment plus worming. He is too cute. Please remember that cats need to be updated on theirs boosters to protect them against flu, enteritis and leukaemia. Please remember that keeping on top of external and internal parasites is paramount too for your pet and the household since some parasites are zoonotic too (transmissible to humans). 🐱🐱

The little gecko that is receiving intensive nursing atm is doing better. Gaining weight, thriving, more active and passing stools daily...building up a reptile takes a long time and patience. Sending lots of positive vibes to this one 🦎🖤

Anubis is a falcon belonging to Eagle Heights. I diagnosed the beautiful Anubis with kidney disease last week. To diagnose him with gout he woukd need further testing but we needed to bring his uric acid levels down ASAP. I researched different types of drugs to find the more suited one for him. One drug was only licensed in America; another had possible nephrotoxic effects..I chose a drug ive not used before and is a bit experimental but he's doing amazingly well . He's thriving, happy, gaining weight steadily and doing great and I could not be happier. He will stay in the current meds for 1-2 months then I will re check his uric acid levels again ...go Anubis 🤎

And it's been checked and all is good, no fractures or wounds 🤎🤎

The moment when I'm in the enclosure with the servals ans the keepers to capture them so that I can vaccinate them..I miss field work in South Africa so much 😤😭🖤💛🐆

I treated this ghost koi carp for severe septicaemia 2 years ago..she was very sick at the time...im glad to say that 2 years later she's stronger than ever 😊🐠🧡
