There have been posts on other pages about scammers taking money from owners, claiming they can get a dog exempted without going through the court process...
I can categorically tell you, that there is no other way of getting a dog exempted now that the self exemption scheme is closed, without the help of legal services and going through the court process. Please, please do not waste your hard earnt money by falling for such promises, from these unscrupulous people who are just preying on owners desperation! Thank you for reading this warning.

If you are considering taking on a dog of type because you have had significant dealings with it and want to get the dog exempted to you through the courts, please, please, please, think very long and hard about the commitment of doing so, this can be a lifestyle altering process for the new owner and their family, as well as easing the dog into the family unit properly and safely. Often these dogs can be struggling, their needs require acknowledgement of those factors. What they don't need is to be taken on for a short period of time, before realising the commitment is too much for you. They will be let down by the person that wanted to step up to the plate to save them.

This is a difficult post to write, i need to get this message out there loud and clear !
The purpose of me doing the dog work i undertake is to help individuals that are in real need of advice and support from me. I work for individual people and support families, i do NOT undertake advising third parties on behalf of pop up rescues and the like... There are a lot of unscrupulous people out there that try to manipulate me and my colleagues into giving them advice for what starts out as "their dog" only to find that some are not all they portray themselves to be... i have rescues and good people that help dogs properly, those are charities and individuals i have known personally for years, they quite rightly call on me and i will of course continue to help them in any way i can.
But if you are a chancer, or someone that steps outside the law in the name of helping dogs then please don't make contact as i dont like to offend people, but believe me i will if necessary...

I am not great at updating this page due to always being busy. To stay ahead of the game however, we always need to learn more about the dogs in order to be able to give tip top advice and every day is a school day. Recently, myself and some colleagues decided to attend a bully show in Rotterdam to see the quality of dogs that our european friends have. It is a fabulous way of keeping your eye in with what represents a true example of the breed, which in turn makes us better at being able to say if a dog meets type or not.
It was a whirlwind visit and my first to Holland, but the learning was invaluable and it was awesome to see so many dogs that were happy and at ease in a busy environment. I hope you enjoy the pics.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE...
It has been brought to my attention today that there seems to have been information circulating via defra in relation to removing dogs from the UK index of registered exempted dogs.
This is to the effect that if the owner believes their dog is not type and was exempted wrongly, and/or the dog has been seen by a dlo who agrees the dog is not type then they do not need to conform to the rules governing an exempted dog.
I urge caution in NOT sticking to the rules regarding muzzling etc, there is nothing in writing that we are currently aware of, and to do so, could put your dogs at risk and yourselves at risk from possible prosecution.
I will update further as soon as i have more information...

It's been a while since my last update on here, but things have been so busy, both professionally and personally. Having recently checked my records because my phone storage was almost full, i found that in the last 10 months i have reviewed over 800 dogs for people, assessed several hundred too. And things aren't slowing much as i am off out of the country this week in relation to dog matters too. So if i have missed a text or two, or been delayed in responding i truly apologise, but there are only so many hours in the day 😊
