🙋🏻‍♀️ Hands up if you’re contemplating a duvet day today?

Today’s mucking out will mostly be taking place around the animals as most of them are staying inside for the day, it’s been heavy rain here all night and it’s still coming down hard and fast.

Black Friday / Cyber Monday

We are not fans of this commercially inspired weekend, and we can’t compete with the big companies by offering huge discounts. We only make a small amount of profit on items, and every penny goes directly to the animals, we all volunteer our time for free.

But we do know people like to spend this weekend and our calendars just aren’t selling as well as they usually do 😔

So until the end of Monday we are offering free postage on our calendars in the hope we can sell some more before the end of the year.

They make a great secret Santa/Christmas gift - who doesn’t like animals? 🥰

FREESHIPPING-NOV24 will get you free postage ❤️

Five years ago today we moved from Leek to Madeley (CW3), after being asked to vacate the land we rented.

It was absolutely the best thing that could have happened to us ❤️

We’ve learnt, we’ve grown, we’ve become a registered charity, we feel like we are part of the local community, we have awesome landlords, and we have the best volunteers who travel from all over to help the animals.

And we have you! Without you liking, sharing and commenting on our posts we wouldn’t have the social media engagement we do. Without your kind words and donations we wouldn’t be here.

Here’s a selection of pictures from yesterday’s snow day which we hope brighten your day. You will never convince me that pigs don’t smile 😊

Thank you all so much for helping us to help the animals ❤️🌱❤️🌱

🐐Billy & Bob

Absolute besties, usually creating mischief by escaping and having a wander.

Occasionally they have a quiet moment and snuggle up to each other 🥰

🦃The first picture is when Edgar arrived, he’s always been an absolute stunner, but his feathers weren’t in the best condition due to where he came from.

Just look at him today 😍 (2nd pic)

Sponsoring Edgar would make a lovely Christmas gift for someone this year🎅🏽

Safe to say we think Patsy has settled in well with her new pals.

We are sure she’s missing Barbara lots, and she’s still sleeping alone. We are hoping to find her snuggled up with a new pal soon 🤞🏼❤️🐷

Animals couldn’t volunteer to help in the war efforts but instead were specifically employed by mankind. They had no say in their work and had no choice but to do as they were trained and told. Horses helped draw heavy artillery, dogs were used to find survivors in the rubble, cats lived on warships to protect the food on-board, and even elephants were used as war workers.

During the First World War, an estimated eight million horses died, Britain used around 100,000 pigeons to carry vital messages, and dolphins, whales and seals were culled for oil. 💔

Over one hundred years since the end of the First World War, the purple poppy provides an opportunity to remember these unsung heroes and victims of conflict.

So many had no choice, and today wearing a poppy is a sign of remembrance, and hope for the future. 💜❤️

💔Sleep easy Barbara 💔

Saying goodbye is always tough, but saying goodbye to this pixie eared queen was hard.

Her mind was there, consistently chatty, eager for watermelon, bananas and grapes… and a copious amount of donuts at the end ❤️‍🩹

Her body had given up, she had spinal issues, and could no longer walk unaided, her pain was obvious, she literally groaned and flinched when her spine was touched. She was coming up to 11 years old. We made the decision to end her pain at the beginning of this week.

We only had the honour of your company for a few months Barbara, we are so grateful you got a glorious summer of rooting with your pal Patsy in the field.

Thanks for the love and belly rubs 🐷❤️
