Sky
In the middle of the (eventual) summer and sky finds the last remaining puddle albeit a thick sloppy mud soupy one. Yay! I quit 😭
Sofa snuggles
A pet sit last week with this little guy while his mummy and daddy got married. We had snuggles on the sofa and watched Bridget Jones’s Baby 😋🤩🐾
Winnie
Look how beautiful the new pack member, Winnie, walks on the lead. 🥰😍🤩
Sprats
Let’s talk sprats. Dogs love em, they are a healthy snack full of all the omegas and can be used as treats or added to meals. 🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟
Fallon and Mavis
The single best thing about being a dog walker is being able to take your dog to work. 😃🐾🥾
Willow
I had Piper’s big sister yesterday for a lovely walk around the fields in the village. Such a lovely girl 🥰
Oscar & Pip
Had a couple of my ad hoc doggies back today. The gorgeous Oscar and Pip. We had a lovely stroll round the park 🐾🐾
Fallon
After an hour and a half in the rain this morning, Fallon has taken it upon himself to try and get dry 😂 he’s such a sweetheart
Mavis
I could literally play this all day with her 🥰💦
Enrichment ideas! 💡 I covered the licky mats with peanut butter and Greek yoghurt then froze it. This not only made it harder for the dogs to get (which is what we want) but is also a great idea for a nice cold treat on a hot day. You don’t need to spend loads of money at the pet shop buying expensive doggy liver paste etc 😉🐶
Duds and Mils
Dudley and Millie enjoying a stroll in the sun today 😊
Bean
During home visits, I try to exercise the dogs brain rather than their body. This can actually be more exhausting than a really long walk! It is even more important to do this with ‘working dogs’ such as spaniels/collies/labradors to name a few.
Here Bean is using her brain to figure out how to get the treats out of the dispenser. She has worked out she needs to flip
It over so they come out of the little hole. She’s such a clever girl 🥰
Mavis
Quick morning water retrieval session before another wedding!
Bean & Gus
Morning zoomies for Bean & Gus 💨
Bean & Gus
Not all dogs have walks. Bean and Gus were rescued from the meat trade in China by their fantastic owners. Due to never seeing another animal in their lives, they are super reactive when being walked and so their trainer has taken them back to basics like training a puppy. I assist with this by using the same techniques, so they get used to kind human companionship before moving onto other animals. Sometimes all they need is someone to sit with them and just be loving. They will never have had this living in a concrete box in China. Please note I am not a trainer and do not train them. I simply use the techniques their trainer has recommended.
Rupert
A home visit today for Rupert. We spent time in the garden so he could go to the toilet but tried to encourage him into the shade as much as possible. I also brought his water bowl outside to keep him hydrated.
Dog wedding chaperone
A typical run down of a day as a dog wedding chaperone. Depending on the service you choose your dog will either be dropped off after the photos, I stay with them until 10pm or I stay overnight until 10am the next day. 👰🤵♂️💍
Water retrieving
Best £3.99 I’ve ever spent! This water dummy comes with us whenever Mavis is going to be walking near calm waters. She absolutely loves retrieving from the water and is not only amazing exercise, especially in warm weather, but is also great for her brain too! This dummy is so much better than a stick (which I used to use) as it can be clearly seen in the water, floats and doesn’t damage her mouth like a stick could. Just don’t use in fast flowing water unless you want a fast flowing dog!!
Reg, Maxie moose man and the Prinny
This clip is my best friend. No tangled leads or twists. It is also useful to clip the dogs to the car while I put each one into their travel space. It allows me to put them back in the car safely without trying to hold onto them all while putting each one in 🙌🏼🙌🏼👌🏼🐾🚗
Cooling down
Sticking by rivers and woodland today to ensure no doggies overheat. Tilly and Mavis are keeping cool this morning in the river and also keeping my temperature down by shaking the contents of the river all over my legs 👍🏼😆
