I ACCIDENTALLY GROOMED THE WRONG CAT!! 😱

Funny story. So I had Harrison and Ladybird booked in, Harrison just for a nail clip, and ladybird for a thorough brush through. Ladybird is the very fluffy one, and Harrison is more of a short coat/semi long hair (or so I thought!). I opened the carrier that I know Harrison is usually in, ready to get him out for his nail clip, and saw a very fluffy cat! Figured they had swapped carrier for today’s visit. So out came the cat and I spent a good 40 mins brushing ‘her’ out, and she’s usually a little grumpy but I thought ah how lovely that she’s allowing me to brush her today. So I popped ‘ladybird’ back in, and went to open the other carrier. And there was ladybird, looking even fluffier 😂 a quick call to the owner to inform him I would infact be a little while longer because ladybird hasn’t actually been groomed yet 😂 and yes, she was grumpy for her groom 😂 Harrison is the first pic and ladybird is the second. And as you can see from the third pic, both cats definitely benefitted from a good brush through! Next time though, I will double check who is who! 😂

✨ Exciting news!! ✨

So the cat’s out of the bag already (pun not intended) because I forgot that I had a paragraph on my website front page about it and that got published last night 😂 plus I have told many of you over the last few weeks.

But I am finally moving! Well not me but from May 2025 Cat’s Paws Pet Grooming is relocating to the shop front of 18 Bramhall lane! This is literally round the corner from where I currently am. There is parking outside and most of all no steps!! You may know it is already a dog groomers, it will be redecorated and branded as my own.
There are many reasons for moving but mostly I just need my own work space now that isn’t my house.

So what is going to change for your pets?
🔹Regarding the service, absolutely nothing- you and your pet will still receive the best from the best.
🔹My prices will also be staying the same (not forever but for the time being).
🔹I am in the process of training my partner Jordan for bathing and prep as he will be leaving his job and coming to work with me, with all the same equipment and completely up to my standards. I will then be grooming them afterwards. Jordan knows the majority of your pets and they know him too as he’s always bringing me coffee downstairs and giving your pet a fuss. While I won’t be technically classed as 1-2-1 anymore, we will be in seperate rooms with the door closed and we will each be working on one dog at a time, as I like to work solo and I believe a quiet environment is nicer for the dogs. For those dogs who do need the full 1-2-1 with me due to behaviour or if you’d just rather have me anyway, there will be at least one appointment each day where I do the full groom including the bath.
🔹I will still be working odd Saturdays for those unable to come during the week.
🔹I will be opening late on a Tuesday.
🔹I will have a totally separate cat room! Also to be used for small mammals.
🔹I will actually be able to sell my recommended products and equipment rather than just sending online links. Also treats because who doesn’t love treats!
🔹I’ll be doing digital bookings- no more searching the room for my diary!
🔹I’ll be getting a new work number, this will be sent to you once set up.
🔹And finally, my dog won’t be running to the door to greet you 😂

A big thank you to all of my clients, old and new, without you this wouldn’t be possible. It was a total pipe dream to have my own shop but now it’s a reality and I’m so excited!

Woohoo I finally have a website!

I have used my own photos throughout, many of your pets may be on here. If they aren’t and you’d really like them to be featured, let me know and I’ll try and find a photo of them, or take one at their next groom, and I’ll add it on 🥰 (well I’ll attempt to!! I didn’t make the website, I’m a great groomer but not great with tech and design 😂)
This still isn’t my exciting news, I’ll post that this weekend, although I have already told many of you in the last few weeks 😉

Last day of annual leave (and sun!) today. I will get back to everyone tomorrow afternoon, thank you very much for your patience- to my regular clients and my new ones.

A beautiful before and after from Toast’s teeth clean today! (The brown areas on the after pic are mostly natural staining)
Toast’s owner did the right thing in getting his teeth cleaned before letting a large amount of tartar build up and allow the gums to become inflamed and the tooth root to become rotten. He will hopefully be one of my many dogs who never need a dental in their life due to having dental prevention at a young age!

Lovely girl Dotty came for a groom today! It was her first groom with me and she did absolutely amazing, so well behaved for the whole groom! I hope to see her again 😍🩷

Today I groomed Scout and Bailey the guinea pigs! 🐹
They both had a bath, dry, nail clip, body trim and de-shed. I wouldn’t routinely bath guinea pigs as staying warm is very important for them, and wet guinea pigs risk hypothermia, but due to the owners emergency circumstances, their grooming hadn’t been maintained and they were in need of a good wash. They were kept warm throughout the process and I checked their temperate before they left (it was within normal range). They both look and feel fabulous now! 😍🐾
