What a summer ☀️ Although it looks to be officially over today under all this rain - I am appreciative for all the lovely clients , and their gorgeous pets, that kept me company. I had a mixture of first timers and some of my lovely regulars. It was a busy little summer but we continue - just with a few extra layers and swapping the garden cuddles for sofa cuddles ❤️

Loving this weather - means lots of outdoor cuddles especially in the evening ❤️this lovely lady has been a lot of fun with her brother, can’t wait to look after them again later in the week 🥰

Still seeing so many dogs out and about and outdoor pet hutches in the sun. It’s a blunt truth but having seen many pets die from heat stroke over the years, it is a horrid death that is extremely upsetting to watch but the upshot is it is preventable!

As Red and Amber extreme heat warnings are announced across the UK, vets issue urgent advice on keeping pets safe from heat-related illnesses.

Tonight and this coming weekend will see many fireworks as people celebrate Bonfire Night Aswell as Diwali 🎉
🎉Not all animals are bothered and the calmer and less fuss we cause can sometimes help enforce the notion that this is ok and they are safe.
🎉Lights on,curtains closed and a tv/radio playing can be helpful to mask any noises for those who find this period extremely frightening and offer welcome distractions.
🎉If you know your pet tends to hide under a table/ bed/behind a chair. Follow their lead and make that a safe place - add a bed a blanket covering to make a safe den for them.
🎉If walking this evening , even early on, walk with dogs on a leash as so many dogs bolt and run off on these nights from an unexpected firework.
🎉keep cats indoors if possible and cover up small furries also as they often get forgotten about.
