When I start any sit I always ask if people are happy for my daughter to attend with me, I always explain she is a mini me and just loves animals but that whenever she comes with me I always get ditched in the cuddle stakes for her. She has a mini Dr Doolittle thing about her. She had been in the house 10mins with me and was already getting the illusive head bumps - saved for the most special people. I love this photo and it shows the love and attention they get from not only me but also the trust we get back 🥰

Another new member to the T2T family this Summer has been this stunning little lady! The photo doesn’t do her colouring justice - she’s gorgeous! Even brought me a welcome “present” 🐭 she was good fun to look after 🥰

A few new additions to the tufts2tails family this summer which has been lovely. This little lady and her brother (he’s more camera shy) have joined me this week and rather than lap cuddles they love being out so we have been spending the early mornings sat outside having head rubs inbetween a few mini photo sessions 🥰.

The Summer season has started and I am very lucky to have so many wonderful clients, and their pets, that I am very close to having to close my books for the summer. 1st of my summer companions is this little love bug 🥰🥰 so handsome!!

It’s not just about the dogs. I have seen many smallies, rabbits and Guineas etc, loose their lives in heat also. Hutches positioned in the sun give them no escape and can succumb to the heat very quickly. Please be extra vigilant of any outside living pets - moving homes, using heat reflectors and adding cool water bottles and discs to the hutches for them to lie on.

Whether we like it or not we are in for a particularly warm summer spell 🌞 There is lots of advice in the media around heatstroke in animals and some outdated advice still being used - lemon juice won’t help a heat stroke dog!
The main, and most key information to remember in this emergency situation is WET THEN VET. Start active cooling asap before you attempt to go anywhere. I will post extra information over the coming days but any clients or followers who would like guidance please reach out.

I won’t complain about the weather 🌞 however our pets might as they are not quite accustomed to this here in the UK. Please be mindful and that’s for all animals, I have sadly seen enough animals lost to heat stroke and that often includes small furries such as rabbits and Guinea pigs. The heat this coming weekend is enough to cause animals to struggle. Active cooling and quickly is the response needed and be vigilant for small early warning signs. These can make all the difference!

Scout would like to remind you that not everything that’s chocolate is edible 😂😂
As a vet nurse this weekend is always a busy 1 so please be careful where you hide your chocolate, be cautious with the hot cross buns due to the raisins. And also think about foods they don’t normally eat - left over Sunday dinner or dog safe Easter treats - they may not be toxic but as a new food can still upset their tummies. Wishing all my amazing pet family a lovely Easter 🥰
